Personally, I avoided this problem by opting for the bottles in the fridge (I like my beer cold in any event). These cost an extra 2zł, a premium that I deeply resented. Look pal, I'm doing you a favor here. The beers at Ursa Maior are actually quite good. It's just too bad that they haven't mastered the basic act of selling them. They have a spacious, nicely decorated cellar that would be a good place to hang out--if you can actually get a beer. It was completely empty when I was there. Hard to imagine it full when the bartender struggled to serve two tables.
