Luckily, I was here at around 6 :30 pm, with the sun out. I saw a lot of improvements in the area since I was last here years ago. I had just visited McDonald's next door and spotted this Rexall. It was new to me, as I don't recall seeing this drugstore on the corner. I needed to get some water and snacks. Fun fact: I never shopped at Rexall when I lived in Winnipeg. My local drugstore was Shoppers Drug Mart. It would take me three minutes to walk over to it. I also worked downtown and there was a SDM on Graham Avenue at Kennedy. It's now gone, but it was perfect getting what I needed before I walked or took the bus home. I saw a security guard walking each aisle while I was shopping in this store. It was nice. It brought some peace of mind. I ended up getting a couple boxes of Leclerc Nugabars. Each had strawberry nougat inside a chocolatey bar with crispy rice bits. It intrigued me. I also got a bottle of fizzy strawberry watermelon water. It was so refreshing cold. There was a mild, heated discussion between a customer and a staffer at the checkout. I came out of the snack aisle. These two people were joined by the security guard and what appeared to be a manager. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but it sounded like the man was upset that an item wasn't available in the store and he needed the other three folks to calm him down. It's never a dull day in this city. I proceeded to the checkout and got a different woman. She was nice. I got my Be Well rewards barcode scanned. I then paid with a credit card. Done! I thanked the woman and carried my goodies to my vehicle. I put them in a bag and then drove off. This store has plenty of parking. It's best to enter southbound on Maryland Street and hang a left. I ended up snaking my way over from McDonald's. The laneway was narrow, so care is needed to get here. I liked dropping by. The nougat bars were excellent, as was the fizzy water. It has houseware, electronics, cosmetics, and a small number of grocery items. I drop by this store whenever I am in town. There is plenty of parking at this mall. I walked into the mall and London Drugs was staring at me. It's next to a sushi restaurant, which I have flagged. I recall the RBC ATM at London Drugs. It was modern, but only allowed cash withdrawals. It is by the store entrance, on the right when you're walking in.. I immediately hit the cosmetics section. I loved all the nail polish and lipsticks. The selection of brands and colours was great. I got lost in housewares. I love small appliances. I have no idea how that happened. Anyway, it has everything from frying pans, to hot dog toasters and steamers. I wanted to get the Peanuts hot dog steamer, but didn't know how to bring that back on a plane! I love this store's electronic section. I love looking at laptops and accessories. There was also an extensive DVD section and I hope that it's still there. The electronic section is in the far left corner when you walk through the store entrance. Next to this section is the cell phone and television area, where you can get them and accessories. It's a cool place to be. It was summertime. Naturally, I had to look at food-shaped pool floats. The chocolate-covered pretzel pool float looked pretty cool. I ended up getting two huge bottles of Minions banana Tic Tac candies. They were cute and tasted yummy. The cashier who help me out was friendly. There were a couple of people in front of me. On Sunday, I was in Transcona after I had landed at the airport. I was in the area for lunch. Afterwards, I needed to get some drinks and food. I did a search for a drugstore and got this Rexall. It was straightforward finding it. There was lots of parking. I pulled into a parking spot and walked in. Purses and scarves greeted me. I got to the beauty section. I noticed a female security guard. I didn't think that this area needed one. I saw a female customer standing at the Canada Post counter. Another female shopper and I looked at the hours of operation. It closed at 4 pm on Sundays. It was closer to 4:30 pm, so we let the woman know that she should come back tomorrow. It's the kind of gesture that I have missed being away from Winnipeg. Everyone helps everyone. It's nice. I found the pop section. I didn't see the sale price that should have been on the six-pack bottles of Coke and Pepsi products. I decided to get a case of twelve cans of pop instead. Well, on the other side of the freezers, there were more six-pack bottles and I saw the sale price that I had expected. I wish that this price was posted in both areas. I put away the case and got two six-pack bottles of Diet Coke. I also got a box of M&M Food Market cabbage rolls from the freezer that were $6 off. I also got a bottle of water for my travel humidifer. I got to the checkout. I got Tammy, who was terrific. She let me know that I could redeem $20 towards my purchase. I said yes. I paid $2 for my items. Sweet! I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. She asked me if I needed a bag. I was fine hauling my four items to my rental vehicle. I thanked her and left with my goods. I put away my items when I got to my vehicle. I brought an insulated bag, so the cabbage rolls went in there. My other reusable bag was perfect for my bottled water. I liked shopping here. I'd return again when I'm in Transcona. (281)

There is a large selection of organic products and very large international foods area covering many ethnic groups. As a one-stop shopping store is complemented by a pharmacy, Liquor Mart, photo studio. Checkout is reasonably quick and staff are helpful in this busy environment. Pricing is average with many advanced specials. A good choice for weekly shopping!

It was across the street from where I lived. This drugstore used to be smaller, with Vi-Ann Restaurant and Movie Village sharing the same building. Sadly, both ended up closing so that SDM could expand. Movie Village permanently closed, likely because renting movies died. Vi-Ann found a new home on Notre Dame Avenue. I got to dine there on this trip and the food was still outstanding. This SDM has two entrances. There's one that faces Osborne Street. I only used it when I was walking along that street, likely after taking the bus home. I used the back entrance more, mainly because it was closer to get to from my apartment and there's parking. Earlier this month, I drove over to this store and backed into a spot. I forgot that it has a set of photos and historic details on the building as you make your way to the back entrance. I appreciated looking at the Osborne Street Bridge being built, which is a bridge that I often walked across to and from downtown Winnipeg. There was a security guard in this store. I don't remember seeing one while I lived in Winnipeg, but it was kind of comforting. This guard didn't follow anyone around, which was nice. I used to get prescriptions at the pharmacy. It was cool seeing it again. I remember getting a refill. I called and my prescription was ready for pickup within a couple of hours. This store has a post office. I didn't need to pick up any packages here because my apartment building was good holding them. However, if I needed to get stamps or mail a package, it was convenient coming here. I came here to get some cold drinks after spending a few hours taking a train between Rosser and Grosse Isle, just north of Winnipeg. I ended up getting a couple of cans of AriZona iced tea. I also got some Lacteeze. I'm borderline lactose-intolerant. It was weird seeing it in a blue box. The packaging was different that the white tall box with a bottle that I'm used to in Markham. I saw glassware that you can get when you collect stamps through PC Optimum purchases. In the greater Toronto area, I had a tough time finding a box of stemware to redeem these stamps. This store had sets for white and red wines. I had thought about grabbing a box and bringing it back. I'd have to carry it onto the plane. I decided not to, in case I dropped the box and the stemware shattered. Self-checkout kiosks weren't a thing when I was last in this store. I went ahead and used one. It was straightforward scanning my items and PC Optimum barcode on my phone. I then paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. I grabbed my items and headed to my vehicle. The AriZona green tea was cold and refreshing. It was nice returning after all these years. Although I'm sad that this SDM took down two good businesses to expand, I am glad that it endures, as does Safeway next door. (258)

So anyways this is the problem, one night I was at Wal-Mart on Taylor and was tired and kind of shuffling my feet while walking and I passed by her and her family she was with and she said rather loudly "UGH". As we all know this refers to "caveman" anyways fast forward a couple months later and I am walking in to the Shoppers where she works and she is walking with another employee, she turns to look at me turns away and says something to her fellow employee and they both giggle. Being a frequent customer at that store I don't appreciate it when people are RACIST towards me and I will be elevating this to the owner and showing him some footage i have gathered as I always wear a body cam. 2024 is NOT a year to be openly racist in a small city if you do not wish to be shamed for it...smarten up!

The staff and delivery company have failed to make the delivery. Because this medication is detrimental to my health i haven't been able to leave my home for fear of missing the call. DO NOT trust this pharmacy. They wont give you a straight answer and just put the blame on the delivery company and vise versa. No one will take responsibility for there actions and send the medication. How this store is still able to keep their license is beyond me. The store should be shut down or restructured. I have been using shoppers for over 30 years and im honestly thinking of moving to another pharmacy chain. I spend hundreds of dollars a week. So new patients BEWARE!

[I am not afraid to say that when their Rexall Facial Tissue goes on sale, I will literally buy an entire case [36-48 depending on tissue count] because each box is so dirt cheap. And heck, when you have a family, buying big cheap is a bonus. It will last several months and by the time we are about to run out, it is back on sale again!] A lot of the every day stuff goes on a sale often enough that it beats the grocery stores. Also, a pretty good selection of Hallmark cards are available for every occasion, which is also by their seasonal section featuring solid buys as well. A mainstay post office in the back, beside the Pharmacy, also makes having to ship off packages or pick up a breeze.
