He managed to find a part and coordinate the repairs with the mechanic across the street. He charged my battery to temporarily revive my car and was very apologetic that his garage did not have the capacity to take on the job. He refused compensation for the time and effort. After agreeing upon a deal not once but twice, they changed the deal and flat out lied about what their offer included. To top it off after the second time they came to an agreement on pric, features and terms, they strung him along for 2 week: Not answering calls, blaming each other for delays and even blaming their computer system. Finally when my husband got a hold of the salesman, he said he could no longer offer the deal and increased the price by $50 a month. That was the last straw. The only positive thing I would say about this dealership is that they gave my husband his deposit back. Extremely unprofessional. This team is what gives car salesmen a bad reputation.

I am looking for a new car and visited a few places around Montreal (north, south...everywhere) and they gave me the best impression, they were very nice, helpful and had a very nice deal. So why am I giving them only 1 star ? well: I saw a car, test drive it and asked the agent about the history, he said it had a minor fender bender but except that the car is perfect. After an advise from a friend I called a guy to mechanically examined the car. This is what he found: Front windshield was replaced, breaks are dead (they repairer them in a cosmetic way so they will last another few months but basically they were very bad and fixed in an amateur way) , tires are very worn out and one hole was fixed with a plug which is illegal in Canada) but the worst of all the engine was completely leaking and was fixed with a lot of sealing but it was obvious that there was an extensive work done on it and thats in about 70K km ). Bottom line they didnt tell me the truth, tried to hide it or play innocent, cost me about 140 $ and 1 day of work and I will never trust them again. If you decide to buy a car there please do your self a big favor and examine it carefully. Dont let them suger coat you with another 100-200$ dicount like they tried to do to me.

I came to Subaru Montreal well-researched on the Crosstrek, and even though I was able to find the car cheaper elsewhere, I wanted to try my hand at this dealership because of the better reviews they had than others. Ilan was honest, knowledgeable, and didn't pressure me at all. I was able to negotiate a good price on an excellent used car, and Subaru Montreal was transparent and forthcoming enough that I was able to know the history of the vehicle and previous owner, and could buy without any real concern. A month later, I embarked on a 19,305 km roadtrip through western Canada, the U.S. (the South, the pacific coast, and mid-west), and even parts of Mexico. The car held up like a dream, and despite driving through rugged mountain scapes, desert, snow, and L.A. traffic, I didn't even have so much as a flat tire. It even served as a comfortable place to sleep with enough space to set up a bed in the back for those rainier/colder nights when camping wouldn't cut it. As others have pointed out, the nature of the car sales business can foster a dishonest and selfish culture (capitalism, amirite?), but the staff at Subaru Montreal have somehow found way to enjoy good sales while being able to sleep easy at night knowing they aren't swindling less auto-savvy customers. I, too, sleep easy knowing where to go for my next car purchase. Thanks, Subaru Montreal!
