Service is horrible. Selections and sizes are scarce. Incentivized value is no longer there as they do not honor discounts. You enter the store and staff barely acknowledges or smiles. They all look miserable. Once you do receive assistance, they quickly disappear in an attempt to help multiple customers while disregarding other potential buyers. Not the experience of years past, where you have a staff member that provides a professional and personal shopping experience this brand was once known for. Also, staff doesn't seem like they have any expertise or knowledge of the products they offer. I think it comes down to poor management and training. Brooks brothers used to be the go to place now it's your last ditch place. Sad what it's become. read more

I called this location to inquire as to whether the store was honoring the online 2 suits for $1600 sale. Shantel/Chantelle told me to hold while she inquired. When she returned she said "Sir, yes, it's two suits for $1599 not $1600." I responded "Oh, I just rounded up a dollar." She replied, "Sir, do not round up the price, just say what the number is or whatever it is you are going to say." Confused as to why it was necessary for her to say such a thing I asked to speak to the sales manager as I have a request that will require expedited alterations and it was clear Chantel wasn't interested in being helpful. After my call was transferred I sat through 5 minutes of ringing when Pam (who was ever so explicit about how she was on break) made the rest of my Brooks Brothers experience even more challenging. "Pam, I'm sorry that the middle of my sentence continues to interrupt the beginning of yours but may I finish my question before you interrupt me please?" And Pam just went on talking and talking and talking over me. She did let me know that she was working until 6pm and George, the store manager, was there until 8pm, but was little interested in finding out if there were any suits in my size in the store. With help like this who needs retail - no wonder ecommerce has taken over everything with Brooks Brothers. I'm still in need of some suits and I'm off to call my third Brooks Brother location - wish me luck, I'm going to need it. Have to first leave a negative review for Christine at the Hackensack NJ location...wait, no yelp page for Riverside, wonder why... smh - boo. Christine told me that I have to look at Madison Ave for suits in my size but after inquiring she did tell me that she can look through the system but only after I pressed. I went yesterday to pick up some new shirts for gifts yesterday. The customer service was terrible even though there were many representatives working the store and floor. One of the women, Lucette even went as far as to ask someone I was with, "What did she say", as I was asking him a question that had nothing to do with shirts. She also refused to address me and literally pushed past me several times. Once I asked another employee what her name was, the service became a bit( not much) better. read more

I had a great experience as a customer here. I came in to exchange some shirts I had received as a gift which were not the right size for me. I was upfront about why I came in, so the sales staff knew that weren't going to make an actual sale. Nonetheless, they were extremely helpful and attentive, first measuring me and then helping me decide between the different sizes and cuts. One we decided on the right size, they checked the back room for promo priced shirts in that size. I'm very happy with the experience. Yes, it helped that I was the first customer of the day. That's true in any store - you've got to go before the crowd. Still, it was Sunday and before long I was not alone, but I was not dropped by the staff either. read more

Third-generation Brooks Bros. customer, clothes are generally good but the service in Short hHills is not. Suit sleeve buttons on one suit cracking for no evident reason, I think they got a bad batch. Woman on the floor told me I was wearing the suit wrong, then tried to blame it on the cleaners, which does not explain why all my other BB suits don't have this problem. What entitled nonsense. In the end, I did get the spare buttons, hence one star. But I won't be back. read more

Not sure how this store stays in business. Absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced in a retail store. Pompous idiot waiting on customers. Spent almost $3000 there and this jerk acted as if he were doing me a big favor by waiting on me. Don't waste your time or your money on Brooks Brothers. There are other menswear stores that understand customer service and can provide better quality. Avoid this store! Almost all my clothing is from BB, yet Short Hills has the worst customer service; absolutely terrible! I went last Friday to purchase a suit and was told sale suits on one side, new items on the other, then sales associate walked away to talk to other sales associate....Was not offered any help, was not measured! I'm surprised that so many other people had such a bad experience at this location. I came to the store during Black Friday and the place was swamped. You'd think the employees would be stressed and not willing to help anybody. Instead I was treated like royalty. I wasn't in a suit and tie, but dressed in normal street clothes. Worst customer service. Wish I could have given zero rating. I ordered a raincoat from the store since they did not have the size. I was told it will be delivered to my home in 4 days. On 5th day, I call to check and they say that the other store has not shipped it yet. Then they said will ship it overnight. Raincoat is not delivered even on 9th day. When checked with Fedex, they said address did not have an apt no. Called BB about the same, they were not even apologetic. They just lost a customer. read more

This store boasts a big selection and a very nice staff. I wanted to treat myself after saving up some Christmas money, and came when there was the big winter sale. I came out with an amazing 1/4 zip sweater for 60% off! I felt kind of awkward with one sales guy since I was carrying a shoprite bag, but another guy was very nice. However, I felt kind of pushed to purchase since he hovered over me. All in all, I do really like the store and wish I could shop here more for the fantastic clothes. read more

I have over a dozen brooks brother shirts and 25% of them started tearing from the elbows. I went to the store to show it to them and the sales men were rude, I took the three shirts and said shirts only last 40-50 washes, that means not even a year. I paid over 200 for these shirts and don't even last a year. If it was not the rudeness of the sales people I wouldn't have wrote this review, they are nice when they want to sell, but are not trained to stand by the product. read more

In terms of customer service : The short hills mall location is absolutely the worst Brooks Brothers I've ever been to!! 1/2 of my wardrobe is from BB, I love the company, I love the (typical) customer service and care that Is prevalent in every BB I have been to, and I love their suits. However the rude and obnoxious sales men (specifically singular man) made this the first and last visit to that location. It would be better to shop online than to go here. read more

Katie, the manager at the Short Hills Mall store, is amazing. When she heard I had a problem with alterations performed at the Madison Avenue store she told me to come right over. In less than five minutes after I arrived at the store the tailor was "doing his thing" and Katie told me I could come back in two days to pick up my stuff. The only reason this store location gets 1 star is because of the amazing selection and extravagant floor set. With that being said this is worst customer service I have experienced at a brooks brothers before. How does a customer walk around this store for an hour with out one word being said by a sales associate? Not a Hi how are you, what are you looking for, let me know if I can help you with anything. Nope instead you get ignored by every worker in the store and forced to find things on your own. I feel like the attitude in this store is this is brooks brothers either come in and get what you want by yourself or get out. This is why instead of exchanging and purchasing more items from this location I decided to get store credit and take my business to the brooks brothers outlet in Atlantic City when I make a trip there.
