I really can't understand all the negative reviews of this place. It's a small, premium storefront that's open 24/7. So, don't go in expecting cheap prices; but don't go in expecting to see rats running around and grime here and there and stale produce either. Do go in expecting to find things you can't find anywhere else within walking distance, (or within short driving or biking distance) and at a price point that's not ludicrously out of step with, say, Whole Foods. And, if I'm being honest, those little Snickers ice cream bars that are so delicious? They cost $1.75 at most Bodegas, and you can snag them for $1.50 here. There are items here that are cheaper than Bodega items, there are items that are expensiver, there are items that are between. It's our job as consumers to know the price, to have a limit on how much we're paying, and, when it's 4:00 AM and ain't no other place open, shell out the cash to get the damn goods. Ok ill start off by saying its very pricy. It's an organic place so hence the prices. They have a lot of different types of wraps & they added a salad bar. Everything I have tried thus far is very good. The cooks there are super nice. Food is always fresh & they have everything you can possibly want. You need a toothbrush or shampoo? They got it. This is about the closest thing to a real grocery store around the Morgan L train, so my boyfriend and I ending up coming in here a lot. It usually has what I need, except that one time I needed condensed milk for a pie recipe and they didn't have any! The one downside is that it's definitely expensive, especially because a lot of their products are organic and such. They also don't have meat like a normal store would. Their prepared foods are pricey as well. The produce is always fresh and in good condition. The sandwiches are great! The guys behind the counter are friendly and quick. I've gotten lots of bacon, egg, and cheeses, and roast beef sandwiches here! The store is clean and bright, and the cashiers are very friendly and service is great. The groceries are hipster-esq (wide variety of frozen veggie made nugget oddities, and a bunch of indie beers) and therefore expensive. Yes, it's expensive. Yes, you will come in for some simple ingredient and end up leaving with some gluten-free/cruelty-free/all-organic version of said ingredient for probably 3x the normal retail price in an average grocery store... HOWEVER! If you live literally right across the street like I do, or really anywhere close enough by, you will realize how badass this place is. It's open 24 hours a day. They make amazing sandwiches (get "The Apple" - trust me), even at an obscenely late hour when your only alternatives are low-quality pizza or burritos. Everything is fresh and delicious. The cashiers are the sweetest guys who have seen me drag myself to the sandwich counter at 5 a.m. after a long night at work and ask how my shift was. I wouldn't necessarily recommend coming here for things like toilet paper or dish soap because of the prices, but I'm not lying when I'm telling you that those sandwiches and a lot of other goodies they carry are worth the extra few $$. read more

Not bad for what it is, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Though it's the closest store to me, I try to do all my shopping elsewhere because items here tend to be about 50 cents to a dollar more; but I know that it's hard to compete with bigger places that can buy more from the suppliers. You can't really complain about open 42 hours though. The two top things to get here: 1. Avocados - almost always ripe, and usually an ok price if they're in season. 2. Soymilk - the half gallons of Silk are $3.99, a pretty average price and cheaper than alot of other places. read more

Staff is cranky, unhelpful. Sandwiches are bland, boring. Selection is terrible, they only carry one or two brands for any given item. They often run out of a certain food item as a result. They are WAY OVERPRICED, everything is just-as or more expensive than the Bedford ave area. They basically think they can take advantage of all the new hipster kids moving into the area. I ask for a "roast beef and turkey", which is a sandwich with that title that has more than roast beef and turkey on it here, and get a "roast beef" sandwich, which is a different sandwich with very different ingredients. Until today I didn't know if the deli counter guy is hard of hearing, or there's something about the acoustics of the place interacting with my voice that makes it sound like I'm clearly asking for something different, or if he just doesn't give a shit, but this kind of thing has happened several times here. (I really wish he'd ask me to speak up or something! Spend two seconds confirming instead of two minutes doing the wrong thing! It's such a useful habit!) I go home, notice it's wrong, decide I'm going to try hard to get the right sandwich this time instead of tolerate the wrong thing, *write down the order for him* on a piece of paper and go back, wait for him to remake my sandwich after he got another customer's order wrong and had to redo it (because he didn't confirm what they wanted), and receive a sandwich with only roast beef and turkey on it, none of the other stuff. This is technically what I ordered, I guess, but they also technically have a sandwich with other stuff on it entitled "roast beef and turkey", and disambiguating the two could be hard if you refuse to use context clues, common sense, or confirmation to figure out what the order actually is. Clearly I do not think like deli counter guy. So, hopefully this is a mistake he's used to (since he never confirms what people are ordering) and he says "ah sorry, one second" and finally makes the thing I ordered? Nope. He *tries to argue with me*. "It says roast beef and turkey!". He argues with me about the sandwich I ordered, after I made the mistake of preemptively tipping him the first time, in the hope it might convince him to care a little more about getting it right. Instead of just making the damn sandwich. I gave up at this point; deli counter guy should find a different line of work. Something that doesn't involve following instructions or communication, ideally, whatever that might be. The groceries are overpriced SWPL bullshit, don't bother with them. The sandwiches here are pretty good, as long as you don't care *which* sandwich you get. If you do care, and you either 1. don't think exactly like deli counter guy or 2. believe that getting a sandwich need not require any conflict, you'll have a bad time. read more

I only have one thing to add that I don't think has been said: Most days, they offer a $5.99 special for a hot entree, rice, and a salad. This comes in a little rectangular aluminum container about 8" x 6" x 2" with a plastic lid. What they don't tell you is that you can pretty much ask them to fill the container with whatever you want. Tonight for example, I got grilled chicken marinated in Italian dressing, corn, and macaroni and cheese, all for six bucks. This is an absolute steal. read more

There are several things at Brooklyn Natural that I get as my staples and aren't too-too expensive. Organic carrots, Kale, rice cakes, hummus, hard chickpeas, red lentils, brown rice, organic blue corn chips, tofu, miso, and avacodo's. Fruit and peanut butters and any of their packaged food like pilofs or organic canned beans are all too expensive. I've bought sourcrout that had gone bad and I really had to push them to replace it, the other one had gone bad too. So they can't totally be trusted. My hope is that a new organic health food store emerges down the street out of that place called Flushing Farms. I wish really that we had a bushwick farmers market. Or east williamsburg or what ever. Or somehow got a bunch of people to go in on a bunch of CSA shares that then got split up each week and picked up. OK- i love the fact that it's right next to the subway. it's easy to find and it's open at all times of the day. the produce is the cleanest i've ever seen in the entire neighborhood- including Khim's. the asparagus, kale, carrots, lettuce, etc. is NEVER dirty or rotting... i always buy quick veggies here- even though it's crazy expensive. the meat selection is TEENY TINY. buttttttttt... it's organic and/or grass-fed beef or organic chicken. no seafood whatsoever. the cheese section is small, but big for a little store. everything else from soups, salad dressings, drinks, beer, frozen stuff, etc. i don't really buy here unless it's a brand i never see at other grocery joints in my hood. they have a great selection of Brianna's salad dressing and Ichiban Ramyun (my favorite)... but other essentials like bath stuff, snacks/cookies, etc.- i just shop at Khim's or Trader Joe's. however, we're talking about convenience and laziness here. i'm totes guilty of this. their sandwiches are pretty yums. i've had the Pollo Loco (spicy! yummmm) and the Morgan Avenue sandwiches and a few wraps. it's been fresh, delicious and decently priced. $5.50-$6.99 at the most. i like their cold foods section the most. takeaway salads, juices, sandwiches, etc. all made in house. sometimes i'm too lazy to make my lunch for the next day and this is my first resort. read more

I live about two blocks from here, so B.N. is a great and reliable grocery store in my neighborhood. Ya, its alittle pricey, but its convenient, always fresh, clean, and always has a good selection. The beer selection is great, and I usually stop in a couple times a week to pick up a new six pack. BYOB to Robertas around the corner, and try their pizza, frickin amazing. It's small but mighty. If you've been to the part of Williamsburg that everyone keeps calling Bushwick, but is actually called, East Williamsburg Industrial Park, then you know you've entered a waste land of "Boar's Head Meat" (aka Cowschwitz), cement factories, metal shops, and the occasional apartment building. But there is a buzz about this part of town, and Brooklyn Natural Foods fits right in. It's expensive, but offers a selection of natural and organic foods that would rival Big Brother "whole foods" for the quick grab and for those of us that live in the 'hood, it's a reprise from the corner delis that offer Pepsi and cigarettes and little else. The best thing about Brooklyn's Natural, is the sandwich shop, that makes oh so delicious sandwiches for about $5-6 bucks, and they taste better than kissing a toothless smoker. read more

I had to go here this morning because I forgot my lunch and I needed the essentials for my day of work like coffee and lunch so I bought tuna fish which was overpriced it cost $7.99 a pound. I also bought rice cakes and fruit. When I was checking out my instant coffee came up to $8.49 but meanwhile on the jar it said $3.49 so I picked that one . I was shocked with the price that came up I went back and got another one to show then and the other one said $3.49 too. I spoke to the girl that check me out and said that that was the price not $3.49. I said that they should honor the the price on the jar and they said that was the price that came up not $8.49. I think it is horrible customer service not to give me the price it was on every single jar on the shelf. The manager said he would not honor the price on the jar. This place is a joke. They were out of hero rolls so i ordered my regular sandwich on a roll. I think its common knowledge that if your sandwich is on a roll its a price drop, however, the owners were completely disrespectful when I asked if the price was lowered and said not only was it the same peice but that I should leave the establishment and called me an asshole for even asking for a price drop. And you know that you're being socially responsible shopping here.
