Me and my boyfriend stopped here pretty early (7:30am)...the regular meat pies were not finished yet and were still baking, but we decided to wait til they were ready. cute little space! have you go down a short alleyway to get here. there are a couple outdoor tables and a small counter top with chairs for the inside. parking- we just ended up getting street meter parking early that morning (enforced starting at 8am) ordered a coffee, the ground beef $6 and lamb pie $7 DELICIOUS! when we got the pies, they were piping hot and great! (especially for the price) the pies were enough for a meal on its own. The crust was flaky but not too buttery/greasy at the same time!. the lamb had lamb taste but it wasn't overwhelming. the one thing that i wasnt used to would be the starchiness of the gravy inside. I just imagined it to be more runny and gravy like, although it would make sense to have it thicker so the crust wouldnt get soggy the meat pie was not as flavorful but still good nonetheless! it had a bit more meat in it than the lamb pie. it was recommended to be eaten with ketchup (but i preferred not to because it just covered the taste of the beef) There is also a small fridge on the inside where you can purchase frozen pies for home! cute and tasty little spot! definitely coming back!! read more

This place (and Samantha) is a gem! Truly the BEST authentic Australian food in LA. My husband is Australian and I ordered a bunch of meat pies, sausage rolls & pastries for his birthday last year. It was a huge hit and now it has become a tradition. I just placed another large order to cater a birthday dinner for him. Samantha was as wonderful to deal with as last year. It was actually kind of a fluke that we found this place. We knew about it but weren't looking for it, we were looking for a parking place and happened to drive pass a sign. My lack of food, there's too many people, I can't find a parking place, I hate everybody grumpiness turned into pure happiness. I thought we'd have to fly back to Sydney or attempt to make them ourselves to get them but then we discovered Bronzed Aussie. So to break it down for you, I had a Lamb Potato Rosemary and Garlic pie and my husband (who's Aussie) had the Ground Beef one. They were a little pricey (but BIG) so defn not an everyday thing but having an option when we're both feeling like getting something 'Aussie' is the reason we'll probably frequent this place. We also grabbed a couple of soy flat whites - though I think his might have had milk in it (he's allergic) so next time we'll have to make sure, overall the beans weren't burnt and it was perfection which filled our bellies and the best part is that it's right around the corner from where I get business supplies so I can stop in and get them to go. They also have sweet desserts and frozen pies you can bring home and reheat. SERVICE: is friendly and usually by the Australian owner. She is helpful and makes good suggestions/recommendations. AMBIANCE: it is not a big place and has limited seating. They are located in a short alley downtown, so parking can be tricky. VALUE: is average. In the middle of LA is a taste of Australian homes. A strange thing about the US is that for all the different cuisines, it is hard to find meat pies. Then I stumbled on to this place! The pies are just like in Sydney. The crust and gravy of the beef pies is authentic. Hey a note to you if you've never been to australia - you don't and shouldn't eat it with knife and fork. It's ok and expected to use your hands! When I was there, I saw others (surely Yanks!) with cutlery. That's like eating a hot dog or hamburger with a fork.... Sadly the sausage rolls were insipid. I received 8 pies as a gift today. I'd never had Aussie pies before. There was a variety and they were all AMAZING!! I would have to say the Lamb pie was my favorite, but the chicken bacon, pepper steak, ground beef and Thai were all stellar as well. The crust is outstanding. My husband and I shared all of them and enjoyed every one. We still have a dessert pie left and I'm sure that will be just as yummy. OMG, since I found this place I can't stop coming back. They are so delicious it is hard to eat just one. My favorite is the Peppered Beef. Tiny little cute little shop that you were surely miss if you weren't looking for it so keep your eyes open wide! I was shopping in the LA Fashion District when I walked past this place and remember bookmarking it for my must tries. Don't you love it when that happens? The girl who helped me was very friendly and helped me choose which pie to try out of the vast variety that they have. I opted to go with the original beef. I walked and ate this pie and thought to myself, hmmm this doesn't taste like beef at all. And alas, it wasn't. She accidentally gave me the lamb pie! 1st timer to Aussie meat pies and not really being a fan of pot pies (that's what I had imagined it to be), I was glad to find that it is much tastier. We had the ground beef & chunky beef meat pies. Both were flavorful though I preferred the ground. I liked that the crust/she'll wasn't thick & doughy. It was light & flaky. If it had a beefier flavor (hard to express) I would have given it 5 stars. Overall though, it was very good. I'd like to come back to try their lamb & dessert pies. read more

I grew up in Sydney, Australia. I came to this place hoping to find pies that reminded me of my childhood. I'm definitely glad I stopped by! The chicken, bacon and mushroom pie was really filling and delicious. I've had better Lamingtons. But, it was still quite good. They have an espresso bar but I was quite frankly underwhelmed with my cappuccino. Next time i'll try one of the juices they sell. Wish the menu had some more interesting pie filling options. Excellent service and 'real deal' pies..pastry melted in your mouth, real tomato sauce, fillings to die for; both the lamb and beef were perfectly slow cooked to perfection. When I was a kid I fell in love with Ms. Patterson's Aussie Pie (microwave), it was the most delicious I've ever had. So when I saw this place on groupon I took the hour drive. I ordered 1 of every kind of pie except veggie, I even ordered a sausage roll and their custard tart. I spent a fortune and got sick of the crust after a few bites. This is place is awesome. Stopped by here last month. I ordered a lamb pie (ate it with crystal bay hot sauce) it was delicious, ended up ordering an apple pie to go and pledging my return. Flaky pie crust was the best part. The lamb pie was very filling and quite satisfying. I would say parking may be an issue. (I ubered here because I hate parking in the city). Its located in a small alley walkway between two buildings, and if your looking for it on the main street you won't find it. Cozy little corner of the world for sure. Houses it's own type of atmosphere that is starkly different from the main street you'll likely walk from to get here. Lots of locals and visitors walking in and out as it is on the border of a couple of live-in loft complexes. That being said, a lot of different people walk in here and its really cool the people you meet. Let me start off by saying I'm gluten free and that all went out the window yesterday when I tried Bronzed Aussie for the first time! It was everything I hoped for. I got the classic ground beef- the dough was a perfect balance of flaky, buttery, and doughy, the filling was rich, decadent, and filling, and everything just tasted fresh and homemade! It was the perfect comfort food on a cold, rainy day. My friend got a veggie pie and fries and was quite pleased as well. You know you had a great lunch when you all need naps after! The young guy working there was super sweet and chatted us up while we were eating, very attentive and checked to see that we were happy and if he could get anything else for us. Holy moly! This place is freaken amazing! First of all the lady that runs the place is sooooooo helpful and friendly. Secondly, their pie is the closest thing you can get to a real Aussie meat pie. I had the roasted lamb, chunky beef, and chicken bacon. I would rank them in that order. But honestly all of them if equally delicious and you can't go wrong. Their crust is so crispy and buttery. The filling is juicy and tender. I don't know how they pulled it off where the crust is crispy and the insides isn't dry. I also had their sweet potatoes chips and let me tell you it's not the typical chips you would think of. It's real sweet potatoes chunks that is fried to perfection. Their custard dessert pie was also yummy. I love the creaminess. Everything was so good that we bought some frozen ones home so we don't need to pay for the rip off $7 parking in the back. read more

I recently catered office lunch for 35 employees from Samantha at Bronzed Aussie and had a lovely experience. Not only was she super friendly and responsive, everyone loved the pies and rolls. Their crust is amazing, and everyone at the office (many of whom were skeptical about my idea to have Australian food for Australia Day) LOVED the meal. She even threw in a few Anzac bikkies, which are something I really miss about Melbourne. Someone brought a variety of veggie pies, meat pies and sausage rolls in during a work meeting. Having never heard of the place and tasting the food, I thought it was good, but nothing special. Awesome pies and sausage rolls! My husband and I come here to buy several each to take back to the Bay Area. Even though they may be frozen, it still tastes delicious when you pop them in the oven at home. Having been to Australia, these pies and sausage rolls are as close as it gets to feeling like you're in Australia. After purchasing 5 pies and 3 bags of sausage rolls, the total came out to $50.
