    32. House Special Pan Fried Pork Bao

I cannot recommend this dumpling restaurant more! Not only is it lowkey with a short wait time, but they have plenty of dishes that all taste equally delicious. Their chicken fried rice, which is usually a simple dish, was perfect! This was my first time trying a beef roll, and inside it is fresh cucumber which paired perfectly with the fried outside wrapped and beef. The house special pan fried pork bao was juicy and savory. Lastly, my favorite dish of the night was the crab and pork Xiao Long Bao. It was perfectly soupy, and the broth is seriously addictive. If you're craving or haven't tried this type of cuisine before this spot is perfect to give it a shot. Staff is patient and interior has plenty of seating. Do yourself a great favor and give it a shot!

Great lunch spot if you're craving Chinese food. Service was okay but can't say too much as it was one guy running the show. Forgot our waters until we asked but no big deals. Ambiance is nice, good amount of seating, good lightning. You can see an open window that shows them making dumplings too! Only thing I would say is that it seems like their open sign is broken or they forgot to plug in. We were parking and almost left thinking they're closed but I decided to get out the car and check. Good thing I did because it was delicious. 1) Spicy chicken was well fried. No dried pieces, good amount of spice but has a tongue numbing spice if you're not a fan of that. 2) Pan fried dumplings - not greasy like some places I've tried but also not overly pan fried. Could use a bit more pan fry crisp texture but it had plenty of soup/juice so be careful with this one! 3) house special XLB - this was probably the best XLB I've ever had. The skin did not break but didn't feel too thick and doughy like some places do. I HATE when I pick up the dumpling and all the soup spills out. This did not happen at all. Easy to pick up from the top with chopsticks and they give you these nice dumpling spoons for you to eat it in. Very flavorful and plenty of soup! Vinegar dip sauce was on the weak side in my opinion but that's also a good thing to not take away from the soup flavor. 4) three flavor dumpling - this was good on its own but after having the XLB, it felt lackluster so no fault in the dish, just had high competition lol. Standard steamed dumpling. Saw you can choose boiled, steam, or pan fried option ($1 more). 5) braised beef noodle soup - a bit pricey for my liking at $17.99. Wish there was more meat. Pretty standard, nothing special to me but good enough portion to share between 2 people. Meat were tender and soup had a decent kick to it 6) shrimp toast - this was AMAZING. May not be that for everyone but for me, it brought me back to my childhood. Reminded me when I would go to do dim sum spots with the workers pushing the cart. They would have these crab claws that was basically crab claw wrapped with fried shrimp served with a sweet-ish mayo dip. It tasted EXACTLY like that but with Chinese fried dough stick aka Youtiao. Very glad we got this to try and it's going to be something we order again. Food came out within 10-15 mins and literally one after the other without break so that was awesome! They also pack your leftovers to go! Definitely gonna come back as I'm a big fan of the Jade & Java coffee spot next door from this nice little spot. Parking is easy each time I come to this little plaza which is bonus points!

There are lots of places in San Francisco for some dumplings. There are shopping mall dumplings to Clement street dumplings to Chinatown and everywhere in between dumplings. One place is a hidden gem by a golf course and Lake Merced where there are thousands of Gators ( Gaters) walking around Park Merced and between San Francisco State University and in neighboring Stonestown. It is rare to see a shopping strip mall in San Francisco and especially one located not visible to lots traffic. One place which offers different types of dumplings is Brochette Dumplings. You will find pan fried dumplings, Xiao Long Bao, and delicious dim sum. On a hot day in San Francisco I enjoy some delicious dim sum and I had to order dumplings. You can taste the freshness with the fresh ingredients. I enjoyed the Xiao Long Bao but it kept squirting soup and luckily they offered a soup spoon to eat it with. I also had the garlic honey fried chicken and its was tender and very flavor and not too sweet and boneless ( my favorite). The only dry item was the Taiwanese inspired popcorn chicken but that's how it's made and it had good flavor and a good crunch and it brought balance to the wet meal I was having. A good place to grab dumplings in the cuts of San Francisco. Come to Brochette Dumpling that have food that's "Chinese"where you can get pan fried buns that are "Shanghainese" and dumplings are for food any weather whether it's 50 "degrees" to 90 degrees I personally enjoy dumplings during a cool Summer "breeze " They serve food with drinks with different types of "teas" while some inside spilling the tea in a yap session some other are students trying to pursue their university "degrees" but this place have dumplings that are popping like popcorn chicken made by the "Taiwanese"

I was craving some beef noodle soup and decided to try this place. It's located in an area that I honestly never knew existed. Parking was not bad and I was able to get a table without any issues. We ordered off the QR code and food came quickly and was hot! The shrimp toast was like a fried Chinese donut with shrimp paste. It was a great appetizer and I can see how it's a top seller. I definitely recommend trying it if you want an appetizer to share. The pig ears are crunchy but not as spicy as I hoped. It has a nice surprise to have cucumber at the bottom as I debated on ordering the cucumber salad but decided not to. Overall, a great new addition to available restaurants to go to. I saw they have some interesting dumpling flavors that I'd like to try with more people around so that I can order more flavors but not have to eat all of it.

Great spot for dumplings! Came on a Sunday around 1:30 PM and waited about 15 minutes for a table. It's located in a small plaza so there is a parking lot available. Favorite items: - Beef rolls ($14.99) - came with 2 rolls cut into 4 pieces each - Salt and pepper crispy tofu ($14.99) - really good but wish it came with a little more for the price - Pork XLB ($11.99) - comes with 6 dumplings. This was everyone's favorite item. Also tried the shrimp pan fried pork buns ($14.99) and the pan fried pork buns ($13.99) which came with 6 pieces per order. Wasn't bad, but wasn't the best. The bottom wasn't very crispy compared to other places I've tried. I preferred the shrimp over the regular pork. We also tried the hot and sour soup ($10.99) and didn't like it. It's different than the ones I've had and more on the sweeter side. Overall, great experience. Food came out quick and the customer service was good. Would definitely come back for the pork XLB.

First time back since they changed from Mom's Dumpling to Brochette. - same menu. The standouts for us are the dumplings - pork XLB and the wagyu dumplings (fried). Kiddo really likes the cucumber salad - simple but tasty. The green beans arrived hot. This time hubs ordered the dry fried chicken wings - good.

Everything we ordered was delicious. 13. Spicy dried fried chicken wings 18. Beef roll 22. House special Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) 32. Pan fried pork bao - these had a nice skin and had soup inside 41. Korean fried sauce noodle - the meat sauce paired well with the noodles. Nicely coating each bite. Food came out extremely fast. This spot is casual. There are chairs and booth seating available. There is accessible parking in the lot but get there early if you're worried about parking. It fills up during busy times

One of my favorite XLB and beef rolls in the city!! Dishes (ranked by best): 1) House Special XLB: perfect consistency with handmade wrappers that you can watch them make. They perfected the flavor and texture of this dish 2) Beef Rolls: perfect about a portion, crisp and ingredients. Definitely a must try. 3) Beef Noodle Soup: very good soup, can't go wrong getting this Logistics: -accepts card -plenty of free parking available in private parking lot -plenty of indoor seating

Solid dumpling spot next to SFSU near the apartments! Their dumplings were fresh, soupy, and tasty! My sister and I came here with our families and a bunch of our kids. The worker was able to accommodate by providing high chairs for our toddlers. The restaurant had a window where we could watch the workers wrap dumplings and xiao long bao. We were seated right next to the window and saw all the action. It was cool! We tried a variety of items. My favorite was their xiao long bao. It was warm, not burning hot like some places and after putting the whole xiao long bao in my mouth, there was so much soup. It was tasty! The pork and cabbage dumplings were not oily and pretty good. The chicken chow mein was pretty flavorful! Our toddlers loved it! The dry-fried spicy chicken wings were not spicy at all. It was good but not great like San Tung's chicken wings. I tried the special red xiao long bao, pan fried beef rolls, and the garlic string beans from my sister's table. Honestly, those were only okay. Flavors were not as strong and I definitely had better ones at other restaurants. Overall, solid dumplings at a quiet, hidden dumpling spot in the plaza next to SFSU. Service was attentive especially when it was not busy. Took a bit long to get the check though.

This place was rebranded from Mom Dumpling, and I don't know why the word "brochette" is "in" now. I had to look up what it was, but it still doesn't make sense because there's no skewers here. I wonder if they're related to the similarly named RWC restaurant? On that same vein, their website contains some oddly unfactual statements about themselves! Aside from the mumbo jumbo, Brochette Dumpling is located in a small strip mall area amongst a few suspect establishments. There's an adequate amount of parking here (and not too popular businesses), so fear not that it's in San Francisco. The service is very fast, and the food comes out pretty instantly. Some tables are next to outlets, so charge up if you need! You can either scan a QR code to order, or order with a waiter. I like that everyone gets a small dumpling spoon on their plate from the beginning. - Pork Dumpling in Chili Oil The filling is pretty tasty with a shu mai consistency. The chili oil was also flavorful, with a subtle chili soy and sesame oil taste. - House Special Pork XLB The dumpling skin was pleasantly delicate with some chew, and there was a lot of soup and meat inside! It hit all the notes of what a good XLB should have, and I would order this again and say it's on par with Din Tai Fung quality. - Pan Fried Pork Bao This was my favorite item, and from the looks of other reviews, the usual suspect for top contender in a popularity contest. They were cute little dumplings that got pan fried on the bottom where the skin gets thicker, but had a pretty thin and delicate top. I was surprised at how well the bottom crunched up without the dough getting too hard. Also, juiced squirted out at me, so that's always a good thing. The meat filling was soft and yummy, and I would insist on every table ordering this. - Korean Fried Sauce Noodle The noodles are absolutely their weak point, and I was pretty disappointed at what I thought would be jajangmyeon. This was just some minced meat gravy over overcooked noodles... In fact, it tasted like I got a pack of Maruchan ramen and left it on the stove for half an hour that rendered it overcooked, soggy, wilted, and disintegrated. The flavor of the minced meat was alright, but it's too overpriced for the sad state of noodles. - Braised Beef Brisket Noodle Soup Noodles here had the same issue described above, but this tasted better because the soup was beefy and flavorful with a kick. However, the soup was also extremely oily, as if they put several spoons of chili oil inside. This might be the oiliest beef noodle soup I've ever had, actually. In essence, come here for the dumplings, ESPECIALLY the pan fried pork baos, and stay away from the noodles. They advertised weekday lunch specials the last time I checked, which seemed like a good deal.

Excellent dumplings here. Love the variety of fillings. Chicken corn steamed dumplings - wrappers are excellent with great chew. The chicken filling is the juiciest I've had - hard to make such a lean protein so good. XLB - super juicy, excellent skin too. The meat filling itself wasn't quite as silky as others that I've had Sheng jian bao - love that they have different fillings, the shrimp ones had a whole shrimp inside - delicious. Skin is more ordinary the thin style, not a fluffy bun style, but nice and crispy on the bottom. Green beans - good texture but these were a bit too salty.

The staff were friendly and super prompt about clearing empty plates and refilling our tea whenever we signaled it was done, which is always great as the dishes just get on coming! We ordered a bunch of dishes to share, and several really stood out. The spicy tendon was fantastic, shredded paper thin and swimming in a classic spicy sauce. The spicy lamb dumplings were another highlight, with an incredibly thin wrapper and a super flavorful and not gamey at all lamb filling. I also loved the stir fried rice cakes, which were sliced thin enough to avoid that overly chewy texture, and the stir fried noodles Shanghai style were classic and simple in the best way, with big chunks of cabbage and meat and just executed really (the chefs clearly have some serious wok skills!). Not everything we ordered was an absolute knockout as the vegetable dishes could use a bit more flavor and seasoning, but everything overall was good, and the portions across the board were very generous. The desserts were a last-minute decision and I am so glad we went for them. The lava custard buns were fluffy and amazing, with a molten salted egg custard inside, and the sesame balls had a satisfyingly crispy exterior that gave way to a perfectly chewy interior and sweet red bean filling. The value here is also excellent. We left absolutely stuffed and spent around $30 per person, which felt like a great deal for how much food we got and how much we enjoyed it. Highly recommend!

She went through a spell of being terribly nauseaus and only certain foods could be kept down. She's a fan of dumplings so we found this place on door dash and tried it. The Wagyu XLB is one of the best things I've ever eaten. And no that's not hyperbole.Everything we had from this place was great but those specific dumplings were amazing. My wife also was a big fan. She had the vegetable dumplings and not only was able to keep it down with her nausea, but would also get it again and she is a picky eater. The worst thing we ate there is something I would descriebe as "good but I don't need it again." I won't name the item because it really wasn't bad at all, it was just outshined by everything else. I have since recommened thist o a few different doctors and nurses at her hospital and two have reported back to us that they loved it as well. In fact one nurse's wife now wants Dumpling Time at least once a week. When I die, if the Wagyu XLB is the last thing I eat, it would not be a wasted life.

I walked into the restaurant about 45 minutes before closing time at 9:30 PM and several other diners came in after I was seated. The unsettled weather made the people hungry for dumplings. Bao is warm and woody and serene on the inside, a great counterpoint to the bustle of Valencia at every hour. Upon entering there is a large window looking on to the kitchen prep area where culinary experts are often at work constructing the food diners later enjoy on their plates. Tonight a couple of wizards were in the process of making chicken potstickers. Even being vegetarian, just seeing how the dumplings and other items are made is like seeing secrets being shared. I love it and it sets the vibe for the restaurant. My order consisted of the steamed vegetarian buns and sautéed string beans. The buns come out beautifully presented and taste even better: the bun itself is just slightly sweet and that sweetness adds an amazing dimension to the chopped fresh vegetables inside. Can't tell you what any of these veggies are individually and I don't care, they are so good. Next came the sautéed string beans and the sear on the beans themselves was perfect and smoky and delicious. The crispness of the sautee makes the string beans a lovely pairing with the soft yummy of the steamed buns. Last came the sesame balls as a sweet meal ending. I love donuts and fresh-made sesame balls are similar to a donut hole just with a filling that is actually food and so sweetly tasty. The outer fry was crisp and the insides absolutely perfect. Three dishes, all fantastic, and I walk home happy and thankful to Bao for a great simple meal!

Heads up that this is mostly a takeaway spot and they only have 1-2 small tables. The siu mai was fairly big and I liked that the order came with a bunch of sauces- chili oil, soy sauce, and a hot sauce. As a big sauce fan, I appreciated the selection! I'll be back to try most of their selection.

The baked bbq pork buns are sweet with a decent amount of filling. The deep fried dumpling is plump, juicy, and crunchy. The shrimp and chive dumplings are my favorite. It's full of shrimp with a slightly thicker skin, which I think adds a nice chewiness. The veggie egg rolls were okay. I personally wouldn't order those, even if I was craving them. The spare ribs had a really nice savory flavor from the sauce. The egg tarts were okay. I need to note that these bags are leftovers from the day, so they're not as fresh. But they held up the next day so I was able to stretch 2 meals out of them. I can't comment on service since these bags are only for pick up. But they quickly provide the bags once the window open. And it's a small space, with maybe 2 tables. So this place is probably best for to-go orders. Their 2g2g bags have more variety than their Chinatown location. Not sure how many dim sum options there are in the Mission, but I would go here if I was in the area and craving a shrimp and chive dumpling.
