Minus one star for tourist confusion. I guess they assume that everyone knows what all the numbers & symbols mean. Good luck figuring where to stand. God knows what will happen to you if you litter. Some of the local stops are only announced in Swiss German. Keep a lookout for your destination.

Much more convenient. You can even take an elevator in the back, which takes you down further on the hill. Also, if you're only in town for a couple of days, there are some very convenient hotels just in front of the station. There's also an elevator on the opposite side of street at the front of the station which will take you downstairs and you can roll your bags into the station under the street. I found the elevators very convenient and a definite plus for stopovers in Lausanne. You can even take a direct high speed train to Paris. If you have an extra few minutes, check out the beautiful cafeteria with the painted wall murals of different cities in Switzerland, which is on the west side of the train station. There's also a great pharmacy, and a COOP supermarket, which is open very late...a lifesaver in Switzerland where everything closes on Sunday.

The experiences can vary from day to day (and season to season) since there are so many different activities and sights to see in the area. You could really spend a whole week here. We started our journey to Jungfraujoch from the Grindelwald Terminal via the Eiger Express. It's the fastest way to get to Eiger Glacier station. There are some amazing views of Grindelwald and the Eiger during this 15 minute ride. After that, we walked through the main part of town to take in the Alpine scenery all around us. There are many shops, restaurants, and hotels decorated with flowering plants. They could all be that beautiful postcard picture with the Swiss chalet and mountain backdrop. It's no wonder why this has become a very popular resort village. Even the views between the houses and shops were amazing. It was a dream come true. A place that we always wanted to visit together. Track, time, rail line etc. I found the station very clean and very friendly with a police presence that was willing to help if you had questions. The tourist information booth was in plain sight and provided lots of pamphlets, maps and recommendations for just about anything you need. I was amazed at how many trains were going to so many places around Europe. Again my first experience in a train station so I was a little bit in aww. lol With a nice selection of food court and retail shops you could use to kill some time if you were early for your connection. And a short walk to many traditional Swiss restaurants right on the Reuss river where it meets Lake Luzern. But be warned. Trains arrive and depart on time! So don't get distracted with the shops. Lol All in all a very quick but nice experience. I would definitely be ok with traveling by train again.

Coming off of our train, we entered a customs area but we weren't sure if we were supposed to exit or find our track and there was no one to ask. Luckily, the area we were in had a board with track numbers and once we saw our next train and it's track number we were confident to go through the customs area.
