    Salad Ala Carte

Came here Thursday night for dinner. My boyfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary. We were sat right away and greeted with water and bread. We got the peninsula cut prime rib with creamed spinach, garlic mash and a baked potato. Service was quick and food came out fast and hot. The price point and portions are great for what you pay. Would definitely come back and recommend!

I've been coming here for holiday parties for years, and I've always considered Broadway Prime a solid rival to House of Prime Rib in San Francisco. The experiences were similar in a lot of ways, aside from the tableside salad presentation. Service has consistently been fantastic. The staff is attentive, quick, and always checks in at the right times. Pricing has also always been reasonable, so no complaints there. But the food... that's where things have changed. The quality isn't what it used to be. On my most recent visit in late December, I ordered the select cut and immediately noticed a difference. The meat was tough, difficult to cut, and required way too much chewing. It just wasn't the tender, flavorful prime rib I remembered from previous years. Unfortunately, after this experience, I don't think I'll be returning. It's disappointing because this place used to be such a reliable favorite, but I know I can get much better prime rib elsewhere.

Took a good buddy here for a milestone b-day (I won't mention which 'stone). His choice and it was a winner. I hadn't been to BP in a very long time and wondered if it was still good. Yes, it was. My prime rib was fantastic. Tender, juicy and very, very flavorful. It made me wonder why I don't eat it more often. I ordered the Broadway Cut because when it comes to prime rib, more is always better. The creamed spinach and English popover were the ideal complements to a great cut of beef. My buddy had his with creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. He enjoyed his, too. He is no longer a big eater, but cleared his plate, which told me he loved it. We finished the meal with two Tiramisu's. That too, was excellent. I didn't think I had room, but I am greedy. All in all, a good celebratory evening for my buddy. Just two old guys acknowledging the passage of time in a fine steak house. Now for the pics.

    Was yummy ( a air bread )

It's been a while... as in 13 years... I had to reread my original review to remember how long it's been. For a reunion meal part 2, I tried to get a reservation at a waterfront steakhouse in SF but it was booked out for a private party on the 1st Friday evening in December. My friends carpooled with me here and I found street parking around the corner. We arrived a little early and accepted the host's offer to be seated at our table. As the rest of our party arrived, I started with a glass of iced tea (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=MRj083KuVF7oHwUG_olWng), passing on the sweeteners for a palate cleansing beverage. When our table was complete, we needed little time in ordering our meals. All dinners include Fresh salad with house-made dressing, English Baked Popovers, and two sides. We started with the fresh salad with house-made dressing (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=U1CBO-o0ZJbHT3b9Qy2zsA), an evenly dressed and I enjoy that recipe with the red beets (yes, made famous on Van Ness Ave); our waitress kindly offered us seconds on this and three of us took her up on it. For my dinner, I had the Broadway cut dry aged prime rib medium rare (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=QaxRR7O1Cgph6vUT7ip1-Q), with 1/2 creamed corn and 1/2 creamed spinach with baked potato; I asked for my baked potato to be loaded except for holding the butter on it. My prime rib was tender on the rarer side of medium rare which was fine by me. I finished the ribeye portion and brought the bone home along with most of my baked potato. The creamed corn and creamed spinach were delicious, pairing well me the other main items. My plate had plenty of au jus but our waitress thoughtfully gave us a tureen of au jus in case anyone needed more. Like that place in SF, three diners in our party asked for extra slices (English cut - thinner slices), a perk when you finish all of your meat order. Being full, I was surprised when one guest agreed to try their dessert items. The eight of us shared bites of the Tiramisu (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=GVX1l8H35Nn0kE3oQCmraw) and cheesecake (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=js5S2Pd_Sdvcbg_K8liF-g). Going back and forth between the two, I can't decide which one I enjoyed more as I was already full. Our waitress was efficient in removing plates and bringing us our meals. The owner/partner recognized several in our party and was jovial and a perfect holiday host for our meal as we caught up on old times. I'd heard a variety of mixed reviews from friends, hearing that other locations were better. I have not been to those so I cannot comment. Thank you, Hong, for catching up with us and great seeing you again. And kudos to your staff in making our meal a festive and family like dinner.

Prime Rib with garlic mashed potatoes and cream spinach

Made reservations here to celebrate a birthday on a Saturday and they had plenty of spots available! Just note you do need to call in to do so. When I say that you will leave stuffed, trust me. They start you off with some of the warmest, fresh bread with butter (we also requested refills). Next up, a pretty big serving of a refreshing salad. The main dishes we ordered are the New York Steak (yummy beef flavor with tons of pepper) and the Prime Rib (very juicy and tender). Both of these are served with a warm popover and choice of sides-- are favorites are the garlic mashed potatoes and cream spinach! I still had half of my meal I packed for take away. The service was so fast and they were very attentive throughout our meal! They even celebrated the birthday with a scoop of ice cream and candle which was a nice touch. Overall it's a great steakhouse for any occasion and doesn't feel too fancy so you can eat comfortably here. Love this spot for big groups since they can accommodate.

Select with quick sear. Been eating like this for decades and never failed.

Been coming for decades! I haven't had one bad experience at this place. Still my go to for prime ribs. Same great service, same great food.

The Broadway Cut with creamy spinach. Medium rare

Came here for dinner on a weeknight and it was not busy. Ordered the broadway cut in medium rare. Came with 2 sides but I chose to go for creamy spinach. I kinda wanted more Yorkshire pudding. :) I love their premix salad and Yorkshire pudding. The meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked. It's tender and goes well with the au jus sauce on the plate. Service was attentive also. Love how they check up on you often to make sure you're okay. They even offered me more salad if I want any.

Came here for a date with my gf on a rainy night, since it was rainy there wasn't that many people. We had a reservation for 5:30 and came a couple mins early, wasn't greeted for a good 5 mins and had to walk over for someone to see us.... Was promptly seated and staff were very nice, we ordered our food and began to wait for our cuts of prime rib, they had one large table to take care of which most likely consisted of at least 20 people or more. In turn they took about 45 mins to an hour to get our food but as we waited they gave our salad and complimentary bread. as well as the popovers Our food was solid, felt like needed more salt but overall the food was alright for its price. Maybe the steak would have been better.

The prime ribs were good, just as we ordered. Salad wasn't though. Service was very good( rainy Friday night) Ambience wise, I would much preferred HOPR on Van Ness Ave. where the waiters make me feel like King (Henry?!).

Celebrating a special occasion or craving that old-school steakhouse vibe? . Everyone knows the gold standard is House of Prime Rib... but unless you planned your dinner about six months ago or longer, getting a table is tough. Enter Broadway Prime -- a solid Peninsula alternative that opened in 2021. The star here is the 21-day aged prime rib, cooked with rock salt and high heat. They offer three cuts: Peninsula, Select, and the Broadway. You can also gave have it English style which is thinly cut. Dinner comes with salad, two sides - mashed potato, garlic mash, baked potato, creamed spinach or creamed corn and an English popover. The verdict? Most of us ordered the Select Cut medium rare ....The prime rib was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor -- cooked exactly the way you would @want. The baked potato loaded with sour cream and bacon bits was a classic comfort win, and the creamed corn was surprisingly delicious. Not everything stole the show: the salad was a bit soggy, the creamed spinach felt bland, and the popover came out a little overdone. Dessert tip: skip the cheesecake and go straight for the tiramisu. Light, fresh, and easily the better ending to the meal. Service was attentive, though the dining room feels a little stuck in time. The waiter did offer seconds on sides and we gladly ordered more creamed corn. If you're craving prime rib but can't land a reservation at the city's famous spot, Broadway Prime is definitely worth a visit. What is your favorite prime rib/steak house ....HOPR, Harris' , San Mateo Prime, Original Joe's, Alexander's .... ???

Prime rib English style with garlic mash potatoes and creamed spinach
    Raina T.

My family has been coming to Broadway Prime for over 20 years and it's our go-to prime rib house. My husband and I decided to dine here for Valentine's Day weekend and although we didn't have any reservations, they were able to seat us within 10 minutes. The food is always solid. The salad is fresh and delicious. I love their garlic mash potatoes and creamed spinach. My family usually get the baked potato with the works. We also always get the prime rib in the largest size, English style so it's already cut up for us. We also ask for a side of horseradish to accompany the meal. Everything is delicious and usually we need a to-go box for leftovers. Usually the service is on point, but because this weekend was super busy, it took a while to get some items and at times we had to ask for it twice. Still I would recommend dining here if you're craving for a hearty meal.

Broadway Prime has been trending on social media as a House of Prime Rib alternative. The Prime Rib is good (not as good as HOPR) with good crust, tender and flavorful. . The Broadway cut is huge. Salad inedible. 1/2 corn 1/2 spinach was good. Sadly, the restaurant is dingy and very tired. The service was the same. Don't eat at the bar. It's a joke.

Ask the Community - Broadway Prime

Are they accept indoor dinning now?

    Yes

    Do they offer kids menu?

There is a Kid's Cut; a special cut for children and it includes a drink.

Will they sear your prime rib like House of Prime rib if asked?

The servers are very accommodating, and they serve a NY steak so I'm assuming they would.

Do they offer a kids menu?

YES! A child's cut for children ages 12 and under, plus a beverage is $15.

    Would you waive corkage fees?

I would. But I dont think they would.

What are the prices? They aren't shown on the menu?

Yes the prices are shown on the menu. See the pictures of the menu posted. Very reasonable.

Which cut or item allows you to have a second serving of beef, if you so want more? Is it a smaller second serving or same as initial serving?

You can order any cut of prime rib,as long as you finish your slice. The second piece is usually smaller too.

This is actually a Japanese kaiseki style restaurant. Reservations are highly recommended as they do not take Walk-ins. There's two seatings for this restaurant so arrive promptly as they serve everyone at the same time . We started with the amuse bouche which was the kobachi three way. The three ways they served this was very unique. It was prepared with one steamed, one in soup and one fried. All were delicious! Next was the sashimi and it was also served with three different fishes. They did serve it with crostinis which was really good with the olive oil. We got the simmered yellowtail collar and the Toro skewers next. The yellowtail collar did have a lot of bones so I won't recommend this for older folks. It was very tender but a little on a salty side. I did like how it came out eggplants. The Toro skewers were also very tender but that wasn't my main dish. My friend enjoyed it very much. The dungeness crab chawanmushi was by far my favorite. It has a streamed egg and crab meat. They didn't skimp out on this dish it had a lot of crab in it. My next favorite dish was the kaki-age donburi which was a scallop and shrimp tempura. It was dust with a green tea sea salt I think. I wasn't able to eat it with the soup and I definitely wasn't able to eat it with the rice. By this dish I was already full. We also had the soju flight which was originally three flights but we added a fourth one . We got the yuzu. Lemon, strawberry and grapefruit orange. They were all good but the yuzu is the main winner! Since it was my bday , they turned off all the hours of the restaurant and everyone sang happy birthday to me. It was a little embarrassing but it added a little special touch. This was one of the best experience I've ever had at a Japanese kaiseki restaurants. The servers were so attentive. The food was creative and you can tell they spent a lot of time perfecting everything. They do change the menu every season so I'm excited to try their next menu when I come back.

Wagyu meat was incredibly tender, sweet, and melted in my mouth. It was mixed with some kind of seasoning sauce and egg yolk, so savory and addictive I couldn't stop. Highly recommend you should try it if you can eat raw food Bossam: Great but I found it a bit too fatty (meat-to-fat ratio was like 50:50 ). The first plate was their Beet Salad Arugula with roasted beets. currants. toasted almond, goat cheese, and a strawberry vinaigrette. Then, I had their grilled Prawns followed by their Crispy Brussels Sprouts which came with a delicious sauce. The meal continued with theirRye Bread which was Lithuanian rye. garlic butter. parmesan cheese, and aioli. The food kept coming and the service was great. Several servers were on staff getting us drinks and dropping off delicious dishes. I also had their Mushrooms with Provolone & Spinach as well as their Mushroom Ravioli in truffle cream and their Blackened Rokfish with Ratatouille & Risetto. The last great meal was their Grilled Chicken with Bell Pepper, Zucchini with Pesto & Mash Potatoes and Buckwheat. So much food but in small quantities to ensure that my palate was enjoying all this food and my stomach was satisfied. The final touch was when they brought dessert. I had their Puff Pastries with Brie & Pear. It was truly a wonderful food experience. Broadway Grill counts with a downstairs and upstairs and during my visit, they had a piano player that kept us entertained. Parking can be limited when busy and the space inside was relaxing and nice which made my dining evening that much better. I recommend you stop by next time you are in the area.

Had another couple besides us. Staircase on the middle of the restaurant to the second floor. Our server was very nice. We ordered the French onion soup, Chicken crepe and Buffalo Chicken sandwich. The French onion soup was yummy with lots of cheese. The crepe was good but not amazing. I think it needs more stuffing. My hubby was raving the chicken sandwich! He loved it. Next time, I would like to try their Lox or crab Benedict. Overall we had a good brunch.
