Anastacia put together our order, walked through my "inspiration" photos in detail, and thoughtfully explained options for consideration. She was incredibly detail-oriented, and the event order she put together for us actually listed every individual flower that would be included in each centerpiece and bouquet. As more of a "type-A" personality myself, this gave me peace of mind about exactly what to expect... and the final products looked even better than I could have anticipated! I'd also note that we had to change venues for our wedding very last minute - from an indoor to an outdoor setting. Anastacia was a professional, calming, and flexible presence throughout it. I was pointedly ignored, even when I was in the same area of the small shop within eyeshot/earshot. I was the only customer in the store (and only PoC) before the two (white) customers came in separately, one after the other. This is treatment I also received at another shop at Ithaca mall (incidentally also with "Willow" in the name). Feels bad, man. Terse service when I asked a question of the staff member there. There's an anecdotal half-joke among us QPoC that a white person with colorful hair typically means "safe" staff for BIPOC/queer folks, but that was not the vibe I got here, sadly. It's too bad that Asian customers are treated this way at an establishment that sells so much Asian-inspired merchandise (kawaii goods, food items). I won't likely be back, even though it is a cute, very modern boutique. I will just head down to Michaleen's Florist & Greenhouse down the road and the farmer's market instead for plants, soaps, gifts. I feel more welcome in those spaces, even if they're predominantly white.

David was so gracious and easy to work with; I came to him with such a late request for these centerpieces and bouquets and he made it happen in just a couple of months' time. The team at Willow Floral used such high-quality plants, my sunflower and greenery centerpieces lasted almost 3 full weeks after the wedding. My greenery bouquet of ferns and eucalyptus is still beautiful and I will be drying it out to preserve it forever! I refuse to use any of that 1-800-Flowers stuff, I search out and only do business directly with a local florist, one that has a storefront and that I can speak with directly. I sent a sample image to Arnolds Florist in Homer, NY (Finger Lakes Region). Lynn followed my request and suggestions, she was helpful, polite and assured me everything including delivery on time would be seamless, and it was, very pleased. I might suggest that if Arnolds is looking for more business, they increase their online presence, but maybe they have all the business they can handle, they know better than I do. The flowers are beautiful every time, and the staff is so nice and helpful. As a recent example, I ordered flowers to be sent to my Grandma on her birthday. She's an older lady. I was on the phone with her when her flowers were delivered (and she actually had two -- my mom ordered her flowers as well!). The delivery person offered to bring the flowers in, made suggestions in her home on where they would look nice, told her happy birthday 3-6 times, offered a birthday hug AND asked if she could get my Grandma anything before she left. I wish I could've hugged her through the phone! She went above and beyond to personalize the delivery and make my Grandma feel special. I remember these folks being like this since I was a little kid -- so I'm glad to say my family has been customers for the better part of at least 50+ years. Don't make the mistake of going to any other florist in Cortland. ;)
