If a shop was going to drive you to either suicide or mass murder, then this is it. It is insanely cramped, and the staff are rude. Rude about each other, rude about previous customers, and rude about people still in the shop. It's a regular bitch-a-thon for these old dears it seems! The only place with a reasonable amount of space is the book + bric-a-brac section at the back (which you'll be lucky to reach, because the main area of the shop has had too many more cabinets and rails wedged into it to allow a slimmer than average person to pass by without brushing into something). If (as a size 10) I found it cramped it must be a nightmare for anyone larger (size 16 is the UK average remember!), or carrying a bag or two... let alone someone with a wheelchair or pushchair. If they took out the glass cabinet in the middle, and a circular rail of clothing, their shop would be accessable to far more people ~ and less punters = less sales, so their overstock of shop furniture is a massive oversight in my opinion. I'm happy to say the Portslade/Boundary Road BHF does NOT have this problem. read more
