I can't tell you what it's like for when your children are in this school, but I can tell you that…read morebased on how they present themselves, I don't think they would be doing a good job at that. To start with, you're asked to message them on their website or email. Cool. And then they'll tell you over email to call and make appointment to tour the facility....why can't you just tell me over email? I took a tour and I wasn't sure about it, so I wanted to arrange another time to come back with my wife. So I called them again, and guess what they told me? "Call back in January." No explanation. Why would you give me a tour just two days ago in September, and then say that I can't have another one until the next year? "That's when the waiting list opens"....got it. I was promptly hung up on. So now it comes time to tour again. We come back and make an appointment over the phone. The school is a school but...the people just don't seem like they care at all. The tour was so lackluster. It took all but like 15 minutes. I've spent more time looking through a grocery store. I don't think they're paid enough to give tours, let alone look after your kids. I've seen high schoolers give better tours at the children's museums. I could have been guided around with a lifeless robot. Hell, if robots could critically think, then they would be like, "...Damn. You're making me look bad." The ratio is 7-8:1, at the toddler age. It's ideally supposed to be 5-6:1. I guess the school is affordable, but it seems too good to be true. It's too affordable for something that's supposed to be Montessori, so I'm suspicious. RESPONSE: "...genuinely wonder if your review may have been intended for a different school." Does your version of Montessori teach children to deflect and gaslight to protect a narcissistic ego?

Daddy... I think I really love my school." () That was the moment we knew, meeting with Ms. Simin and enrolling our child at Mills Montessori was the right decision. From day one, Mills felt like a place filled with genuine warmth and care. Over the 2.5 years our child attended, we experienced a close-knit, family-like environment that helped shape the foundation of his social, emotional, and academic growth. It's a school we've confidently recommended to family, friends, and coworkers looking for a loving first school experience for their children. His final year at Mills was especially impactful and played a big role in how prepared and confident he was starting his new school. Ms. Jen and Ms. Kaytlin provided incredible attention, nurturing, and encouragement, leaving a lasting impression we know he'll always carry. Ms. Helen is truly a gem--her dedication to phonics and early literacy made a huge difference in his reading and penmanship, and we credit her greatly for his progress. We also loved the variety of extracurricular programs offered. Our child participated in soccer, ceramics, art, dance, Spanish, and piano, all of which he genuinely enjoyed. One standout experience was the Messy Hands sensory class led by Ms. Ineca. We were amazed at how much he loved it and how quickly we saw growth in his sensory confidence and cognitive development--major shoutout to Messy Hands. The teachers, the playground, the programs, and most of all, the warmth and care make Mills Montessori truly special. We're so grateful we walked in for that first tour, and after our experience, we couldn't agree more with our son's words. We really love this school too. -Bryan

When I applied in 1996, the school was dark, dank and was not a warm place where you would want your kids to go. But since then they've renovated the physical building, maintained a commitment to diversity, athletics, and the arts, and really created a great balance in the student body. According to my sister, the teaching is first rate and graduates go on to great universities. When it comes to private high schools in the city, you really can't go wrong with many of the schools (University, Urban, Lick, etc.). The only school I would consider a strong alternative is Lowell, widely considered one of the finest public schools in America. But that being said, LWHS is a great place to spend four years.

My kids genuinely enjoy coming to school and taking part in the wide variety of activities offered--there really is something for everyone. It's been incredible watching them come out of their shells so quickly. The teachers are relatable and approachable--seriously, how cool is that?! My kids are involved in cheer, track & field, and my freshman had the incredible opportunity to travel to Greece for spring break with the school. Of course, everyone's experience is unique, but for us, everything has been nothing short of fantastic so far. Highly recommend!

So many of the teachers extremely good at their job and need so much more praise than what they get. The fine arts program is fantastic the band has sounded amazing and the dance program is popping off. The sports programs have been doing amazing recently basketball is being coached extremely well soccer aswell. The main problem i have with this school is the administrators. Ive never seen them happy literally ever and they always hating for no reason except the principle hes mysterious but hes cool. I havent even seen the one of the vice principals which is crazy. I feel so bad for Dr.McDonald because she is literally carrying this school on her back she puts in so much effort and has to take up so many classes and all of this because no one else wants to. The admins who barely do anything always taking credit for everything that the students and she does.

There are girls who wear too much makeup and smoke already- same as other schools. This school is absolutely horrible. Kids are nice but ALWAYSS talk bad behind your back, disgusting…read morebathrooms because clearly no one learns how to flush, and there is drama EVERYDAY. Clearly, every time there is a fight, no counselor OR teacher doesn't seem to care. The time I saw a fight video, it lasted for 3 minutes before an actual staff member came to break it up. The principal is so rude and the assistant principal is very problematic, they say they care for students but they really are controlling. I would also like to add that no one CARES about your mental health--meaning if you put in a request to see your counselor it would take you WEEKS to meet with them. I know that they're busy and they have other things to do but it doesn't make sense how it takes them weeks to meet with you. The clubs are decent, but they aren't as fun. The only clubs I think upcoming middle schoolers would enjoy are drama, cooking/baking, and super smash club. The teachers that host those clubs are nice, funny, and care for students. Meanwhile, the elective teachers are so rude. Take leadership for an example, i applied last year and I worked absolutely so hard on the packet that they give you that makes you write a whole ESSAY. Second, the interview isn't even professional. The eighth graders are so mean and the second you say you're response they look at each other in THAT way and just write down on their paper. Not to mention their tone, absolutely not--so if you ever think of applying to leadership, I prefer not to. The teacher is unfair and chooses the WRONG people, meaning that the people they choose are petty and are self-absorbed. The leadership students are mean, disrespectful, inconsiderate, and only care about themselves. Also, squad the elective is so not worth it. This elective is basically a free period and doesn't let students to learn anything. This elective is supposed to help people with your problems or conflicts when really it's just a bunch of selfish students put together for a free period. And plus, the people they also choose are SO MEAN and when you talk about you're problems they snicker and don't even comfort you. The campus and bathrooms are disgusting, chaotic, and absolute mess, and feels unsafe meaning no one really enforces rules. So, if you care about your child and their mental health, or move to the city, do NOT consider this school as you're first choice because its an absolute disaster. I would prefer going to Westborough middle school because it may be very ghetto, but at least the teachers actually care.
