Did a make over on my mom's forty year old house in Grover Beach. Got a hold of Jimmy at Brilliant Painting got a competitive bid for the work and contracted them to complete it. I don't live local to the area so most of our communications were over the phone or through text. Jimmy's crew did a great job we appreciate his help and we highly recommend his company. read more

First, I will say that being from the Los Angeles area, I was thrilled that when I requested estimates for painting my dad's home in Arroyo Grande, that I received three of four requests in a timely way. Thanks Central Coast!! But I hired Brilliant Painting not just because Jimmy met me in person and explained options, but he was respectful of my 94 year old dad's participation in the process. And while I thought I had a pretty specific list of tasks so I could compare apples to apples, he brought ideas to the table that allowed me to simplify and work just with his company, and delivered a prompt and fair estimate. Beyond the painting, he was willing to add on roof power washing, which seriously made all of the difference in the world in the final appearance of the home. Additionally, he also had the skills to add on guards for the rain gutters, and power washed a LOT of concrete (driveway and patio) for an hourly rate to finish the project. This pricing allowed my dad an affordable approach and the flexibility to agree to the extras. The quality of the work went beyond my expectations. The house went from looking like a state park ranger station from the 1990s, to an updated beachy home in the woods. We will work on the landscaping next, but my dad and I are thrilled with the overall improved look. Thanks to Jim and his excellent communication, and to his crew for a job well done!! read more

Completely satisfied with the job that Jim and John have done. Complete house painting and the house looks brand new. Highly recommend.

After researching painters on Yelp and through word of mouth, we discovered Brilliant Painting. Impressed by the 100% positive rating, we called the owner, Jim Hunt, who promptly called back and came by to bid on the job immediately. He provided a highly detailed estimate and suggested ways to improve the outcome such as filling in gaps in the fascia and choosing certain brand paints to insure longevity. Bids from 6 other painters failed to deliver the same detail and most estimates simply stated the house would be painted at a much higher price, and one even elected to forego the job. We hired Brilliant and were pleased. The estimate was fair, the work was delivered as promised, promptly and neatly. The color was a perfect match, the team was professional and polite, and the outcome was perfect and better than expected. We will hire Jim again for the interior of the house when the time comes. We recommend you do the same. You will not be disappointed. read more

We are definitely satisfied with Brilliant Painting. Jim was so easy to work with, reliable, and helpful. We had our interior walls painted, and they look beautiful! Since the house is our second home, most of the communication was done through phone calls and texting. Jim sent me pictures and videos throughout the process to keep us informed. He was very patient with my questions, and was responsive to my texts right away. He was very easy to work with, and our quote was definitely fair. We highly recommend Brilliant Painting! read more

After 30 years of being baked in the hot afternoon sun, the front-door to my house was weather-beaten, with paint peeling in the corners and on the edges of the panels. It is not a fancy door, but wood doors like that are no longer easily available on the market. The easier way out for me would be to replace it with a fiberglass door, which I found unappealing. And, it seems unconscionable to dispose a wood door that is still in good shape. Furthermore, I learned that installing a new door is not necessarily straightforward and can potentially result in problems such as leakage. Instead, I tried looking for a painter to repaint the wood door. That turned out to be easier said than done. It seems professional painters are not particularly interested in a small job that requires detailed work and repeated visits. Jim Hunt, owner of Brilliant Painting, answered my call and was sympathetic to my desire to preserve a wood door. I was especially impressed with his attention to details. He did not seem to mind taking time to sand, prime and apply two coats of paint. He even completely replaced the rotten weatherstripping, installing it properly for a change. It took many weeks for Jim to work around his busy schedule to accommodate this small job. The outcome is impressive. On the outside, the door now looks brand new. On the inside, the door is no longer hot to the touch in the afternoon. The door hardware now works better than ever. And, Jim informed me that the door is actually made of redwood, making its restoration all the more compelling. I am happy to have saved a valuable wood door, and I can't thank Jim enough for his help and his workmanship. Thumbs up, Jim. read more

We found Brilliant Painting on Yelp, and we're glad we did. Jimmy was very responsive and reliable right from the get-go. He always showed up on time, explained everything, and was very considerate of our home and needs. The job included some drywall repair, painting interior walls and ceiling, baseboards, and a wooden attached cabinet. The estimate was reasonable, and there were no extra charges. In fact, the day after the job was done and we'd paid him, he came back free of charge and repaired a little previously hidden spot of drywall neither of us could notice before. Highly recommend! read more

Jimmy and his small crew came in and painted my home inside and outside in a couple days more than a week. Professional job and very close to his estimate. Brilliant Painting did an excellent job! They are honest, punctual, thorough and do high quality work! I highly recommend.

We've used Brilliant Painting to paint the interior of our home a few years ago and they did a really beautiful job! We then used them to paint our small guest bathroom, Jim is so knowledgeable about his craft and helped us pick the perfect color for this small space and it really made the room look larger! So when we were ready to paint a vintage trailer that we purchased last year we thought of Brilliant Painting. Jim did the most amazing job on this 1960 Shasta trailer! We couldn't believe our eyes it looks like something from a vintage movie set!! We recommend Brilliant Painting to all of our friends. Jim is so knowledgeable and professional, he's also very passionate about his craft. His consistency is much appreciated too! He does exactly what he says in a timely manner . I can't wait to take our trailer out where we will be the envy of any campground! read more

Jim Hunt is by far the best painting contractor I've ever hired. He recently completed painting a bathroom, great room, and all of the doors, door jambs, and baseboard throughout my new home. He worked within my painting budget and also let me pay him hourly for some related tasks, like changing out a light fixture and doing a few other repairs. Jim (and painting partner John) are friendly, easy to be around, completely trustworthy, and professional at all times. I work from home, so it was important for me to be comfortable around them. They do perfect work, clean up after themselves, and always go beyond what is expected. It was a pleasure having Brilliant Painting paint my home. I couldn't be more satisfied, and I recommend them highly. read more
