I always come here with friends - it is by far one of the best places to grab lunch while soaking in the typical colorful houses and ocean view.
While sitting outside you see the city bustling below (I once sat here with friends, despite it drizzling, just to be able to enjoy the view).
To be honest, the food is nothing special but it is all about their drink options and desserts. They have some great coffees and cakes - especially good for a break after walking up the hills.
If you come during the afternoon and are looking for something to wet your whistle, I recommend opting for either a national wine or beer or one of their many different types of pisco sours to accompany your beautiful view.
The service is also good, although there is a bit of a wait for your food, they are friendly, bring you delicious bread, pebre and butter while you wait and will take a million pictures of you until you are happy (unfortunately, I had a friend that was kind of picky but the waiter continued to snap the pics until she was happy).
There are also cats that journey down from the streets and roam the patio. I personally was not too enamored by this however, I was with a couple of cat-lover friends who were super happy and even fed them some of their fish (I don't recommend this if you want them to leave).
Although somewhat overpriced (depending on what you order), the ambiance is classic and the checkered floors of the patio really make for beautiful photos.
They are not only a cafe, but also a hotel (I unfortunately, cannot comment on the rooms). read more
