The manager of Bright Star Tax Office, actually works in West Knoxville then works evenings at the tax office during tax season. Most people make appointments, some drop off, etc. People who make appointments, provide a name and telephone number where they can be reached in case something were to happen resulting in having to reschedule. Bright Star Tax doesn't do virtual appointments as of yet...but they might want to consider it. On occasion, she might even be late to an appointment, due to unknown traffic conditions, out of her control. For the lady complaining, who I found out left a note but still didn't sign it or leave any contact info whatsoever. If you had only left your name and number, I'm sure the manager would have contacted you. She would not have made you an appointment and not shown up without trying to contact you. As a self employed individual, myself, I know the manager also does accounting and other business related services in addition to tax returns. If your appointment was scheduled for the 20th. She may have been late coming from Knoxville, but rest assured, she was there on the 20th, because the 20th is Sales Tax day for all the businesses. She has always gone above and beyond for so many. Always professional and personable. At times, she may be unable to respond immediately, if you call or text, but she will contact you when she has a chance. Hopefully you were able to get your tax return issues resolved elsewhere, but I assure you, you did not get better service or pricing than Bright Star Tax. read more

Had an appointment with another tax service on Friday to amend my 2019 return and to do the 2020 as well. I asked them the same question 3 times and was ignored. They never asked any questions about the old return but proceeded to copy the erroneous data from the old return onto the amended one. Then they supposedly developed a peculiar computer glitch and told me to leave the return until Mon. I got a bad feeling about all of this as other people are getting their returns done so I asked them to give me back my paperwork so I can go elsewhere. I called Bright Star and explained the situation and they verified they could do an amended 2019 and the 2020 return but the soonest they could get me in was Thurs the 20th. Thank goodness I planned ahead and requested an extension. I was told I could be seen at 7:30 pm and then they said they had a 6:30 appt. I told them I'd d take the 6:30 pm. So fast forward to Thursday, I show up promptly for my appointment and no one is there. I call them and can hear the phone ringing but no one answers, and then I get a message that the voice mailbox has not been set up. It's after 7pm and no one has shown up. By the way NO ONE said anything about a virtual appointment and I'm m not about to drop all my tax forms in the mailbox at the door. This is absolutely pathetic. Two tax services and they can't do their job Don't moan over a 1 star rating, neither of you deserved even 1 star. You deserve a minus rating. read more
