They sit in a room of about 50-60 before school, are fed a small, small snack, and run wild as the workers try to get everything done. I have been told by the woman worker with a shrill voice at the front office (Cheryl? Cherry?) that it's OK to lay hands on the toddlers "because they can't really talk." That's an absolute quote. Children are yelled at constantly as they are herded from place to place like cattle. This is because they have taken on too many children due to financial reasons. I would not feel safe sending my toddler there and I know my child would not receive the supervision or any semblance of structure he needs.

Unfortunately, the frequent schedule changes created unnecessary stress and made it difficult to maintain consistency. The overall work environment can feel uncomfortable and unorganized. In my experience, there was too much discussion about employees rather than addressing concerns directly and professionally. I also felt that favoritism played a role in how certain employees were treated, which contributed to an uncomfortable and unfair work environment. One of my biggest concerns involved communication with parents. There were instances where I felt employees were encouraged to give parents a more positive account of their child's day rather than being completely transparent about behavioral concerns or difficulties that may have occurred. I also felt that employees were discouraged from having direct communication with parents, which was concerning to me. Additionally, when employees had concerns or issues they wanted to address, I did not feel that they were always heard or given the opportunity to openly discuss them. In my experience, conflict was often avoided rather than addressed directly, which allowed concerns to go unresolved. Today further confirmed my concerns about the workplace. While I was alone in a classroom and was not responsible for maintaining the staff-to-child ratio at that moment, I received a personal phone call. Mrs. Rachel, the director, came in and asked if I was taking a personal call. I answered yes, and she told me that she would get someone to cover for me so I could finish my phone call. However, shortly afterward, another employee came to tell me that I could go home. This was confusing because I had just been told that someone would be sent to cover for me while I finished my call. After leaving, I discovered that I had been removed from all of the work-related apps without any prior notice or direct communication regarding my employment status. As an employee, you should feel comfortable communicating openly and professionally with management and should be given clear communication regarding your employment. Unfortunately, based on my personal experience, the lack of communication, constant schedule changes, workplace favoritism, and overall management made this a very unpleasant work environment. For these reasons, I personally would not recommend this daycare to anyone seeking employment.

I found it refreshing to work in a child care center that actually put the success and well-being…read moreof their children above all else. The Christian values of the owners were definitely reflected in the care and patience of the teachers and staff. I loved seeing the children's faces light up when they saw their teacher each morning, and equally enjoyed seeing those expressions reflected on the teachers' faces, as well. I was allowed the opportunity to witness the same high standards at two of their other locations, and was surprised to learn that each center has a nutritionist on staff that prepares fresh, healthy meals and snacks each day. I'm sure that was a welcome change for parents that had experienced pre-packaged, or processed foods in other centers. However, the genuine concern for the health and well-being of their children was only one aspect of Foundation Academy that impressed me. I was also pleasantly surprised with their academic programs, and the notable progress of the children in each age group. I love that the Abeka Curriculum used in their advanced threes-kindergarten groups was written by educators, and with a Christian perspective. With the Abeka Curriculum, not only do the children learn necessary academic skills for advancement, but they also learn character development. As a public and private school teacher for pre-school through secondary age groups, I was always impressed with the advanced skills of any student transferring to my class from the Abeka home-school curriculum. No preschool or child care center is perfect. Even with Foundation Academy's stringent guidelines of daily classroom disinfection, and weekly professional sanitation, children pass germs to each other, and often contract those early immunity-building colds and upper respiratory tract infections. And even under the watchful eye of loving teachers, children sometimes fall down, push each other, act out, and take each other's toys. But the loving way the teachers redirect the students made it easy for me to believe I would feel safe with my own children/grandchildren at any of the Foundation Academy locations...just as hundreds of other parents apparently do. No one business is a perfect fit for everyone, and that includes employees, as well. But at Foundation Academy they seem to want everyone (employees and students alike) to find their perfect fit...no matter where it is. . . now that's good business!

It's $160 a week for infants and toddlers. Don't agree with price, but a lot of other centers charging the same price. Just make sure the employees get a raise , hopefully those teachers and assistant teachers getting paid at least $10 an hrs.
