While views may look great online, the reality is far from luxurious & NOT family friendly. We paid $1,835 for a 3-night stay and were treated with complete disrespect and humiliation. We came to relax and celebrate a birthday, especially meaningful after recently losing my father just four weeks ago. Instead, we were met with rude staff, false promises, and a shocking lack of professionalism. At midnight, security followed us to our room and entered without permission to count the number of people inside. They claimed the presence of my 8-month-old grandbaby was a violation and used that to evict us at 12:30 AM, giving us only 20 minutes to vacate the property. It was humiliating, degrading, and deeply unsettling--especially after paying nearly $1,900. To top it off, they are charging a $250 fee for having us evicted. Does this sound logical? To this day, the general manager has not contacted us. All communication has been filtered through a rude receptionist and security guard who treated us with zero empathy. We are a hardworking, professional, and respectful family of six who wanted to unwind and celebrate. Instead, we were treated like criminals. Do yourself a favor--stay anywhere else. We've stayed in properties like Saida Towers, Margaritaville, Courtyard, Isla Grand, and Sea Breeze. (Unfortunately, this was a last-minute booking, and I couldn't find the availability I needed) But you will experience better service, more convenient amenities, and far more respectful treatment based on my experience. Thank you for taking the time to read my post. Here are other unpleasant issues with the property: * EVICTION IS THEIR MIDDLE NAME; THEY WILL THREATEN & EVICT RIGHT AWAY WITHOUT A WARNING! (20 mins even if you're all in bed already) * You are being watched 24/7 & particular staff members oversee counting how many people are in your group. * Guests are not allowed to use the gym. (OWNERS ONLY) * The theater has never had a showing. * The game room is nearly empty, with some non-functional machines, a strong, musty odor, and inadequate air conditioning. * PARKING is free for guests; however, please note that the walk is quite a distance. * The outdoor bar is just for show--it's never open. Instead, workers sit under it watching female guests sunbathe, which made many of us uncomfortable. * My room had stained pillows and an unwashed comforter. * You must take out your trash even though you pay over $120 for the cleaning fee. * If you're a coffee or adult beverage drinker, good luck or walk to Margaritaville; they have a super-friendly staff and a gorgeous, clean facility with great music, ambiance, and some delicious coffee.

There was a gate code to get in the property and a lock box code to get the keys to the condo. We checked in at the office and received a tag for our vehicle then we proceeded to the condo. It was fully furnished and anything that we think we wanted was already provided. Our hostess was Rosanna and she provide everything we needed. The kitchen was fully furnished from silverware, dishes, coffee maker, blender etc... The pantry had coffee, tea, creamer, cups, garbage bags, paper towels, broom, mop the list goes on. Each bedroom had flat TV's with Spectrum cable and various streaming services ( you would need you log in info). The living room had a larger tv with a small patio right off from there. The best thing about all of this beside being close to the beach, was the mattresses in both rooms. These were by far the best mattresses that we have ever slept on at any place that we have stayed. They were so comfortable that I asked what, where can I get one. We slept so well every night. I would recommend to stay here whenever you are in South Padre.

Review of Suntide II Unit 301 October 2025 We have stayed at…read morethis condo before and always enjoyed it. It is a beautiful, well-appointed condo with great views. In fact, we have stayed at Suntide II many times in different condos, and always enjoyed our stay. We always come in the off season as the pricing and weather is nicer. We always rent the largest condo available as we have 13 in our family and 9 or 10 of us usually stay at Suntide II. But this time, there were several issues which really disappointed us. These involved poor communication, lack of accessibility, and a ridiculous parking policy. LACK OF ACCESSIBILITY: I am mobility impaired. I use a cane or a walker. My disability was worsened since we last stayed, about 2 years ago. I realized on this trip; there are only 2 disabled parking spots for the entire building. And they were almost always in use. Which severely limited my ability to drive myself as I was not able to traverse the steep driveway on foot. In addition, the entrance to the pool area is inaccessible as well. The steps are too steep and there is no other entrance. Therefore, I was unable to accompany my grandchildren to the pool, or my husband to the hot tub, or just use the loungers to read. The beach is also not accessible from this complex, but is from the public beach access points nearby. A RIDICULOUS PARKING POLICY: They always say 1 vehicle per condo, but every time I have come, they have given us 2 parking passes, as the parking lot is never full when we are there. This year we brought 6 adults and 4 children in 3 vehicles. One family with an older child parked on the street. My vehicle was parked as near the entrance as we could find. And my daughter who had a baby and another young child parked off to the side in the parking lot but not near the entrance. I stopped by the onsite office several times to get another parking permit, as I have done in the past, but there was never anyone there. They towed my daughter's car in the middle of the night on the 3rd night without notice. Yes, there were towing signs, which have always been there and never enforced during any of my previous stays. However, the parking lot was over half empty when they towed her car. Towing a car with a baby seat in the night (ensures they get at least one night storage fee) from a half full lot is a money grabbing scheme which severely impacts my desire to ever stay here again. It cost $275 to retrieve the car. As a result of getting towed, my granddaughter missed being a flower girl at a wedding they were to attend in McAllen, because the towing yard would not open up in time for them to arrive on time. POOR COMMUNICATION & LACK OF ACCESSIBILITY: This is a VRBO listing, but the contract for rental is with Padre Island Rentals. They sent lots of emails including more than one with check in instructions. The first one I received regarding check in said to go to their office to check in, before going to the condo. I thought that was strange as other rental companies gave us a code to the door for self-check-in. But I followed instructions. That's when I found out that Padre Island Rentals office is not accessible. There are many steps to enter the door. I did manage to find a ramp at the end of the building. It was narrow with no rails, and nothing to prevent you from falling off the side of the ramp. After I got inside, I told them I was there to check in, I was told quite rudely that I was not supposed to come there, to just use the code. I replied there was no door code in the email, and it would have been nice to know that before trying to access their building. Again, rudely they said I didn't need to be there, to find the email with the code. It turns out, there was a subsequent email which had been sent with conflicting check-in info, but I had not read it yet. Also, when I called PI rentals the day after my daughter's car was towed, to explain what happened and ask if they would issue a parking pass for her, they rudely said "one pass per unit no exceptions" and slammed down the phone. DISAPPOINTMENT: We come to the island almost every year for a week with a large group of friends and family. We rent condos or houses at several locations and all meet up on the beach, at the clubs and restaurants. We go fishing and buy fancy coffees, jewelry and clothing. My family lived in Port Isabel for many years. Coming to South Padre has always felt like coming home to me. But it doesn't feel so welcoming now. We are all going to Port Aransas next year. I don't know if I'll ever be back. But if I do come to South Padre, we will not stay at Suntide II and we will not rent through Padre Island Rentals.

There was a posted notice on the property (see below) but obviously we don't live here, so we didn't know. I added screen caps of texts with Vacasa. As you can see, they don't even try to contact me to resolve the issue. The one morning I got to use the pool with my children the staff was rude to me when I wanted to enter the pool 1 minute before 9 am. This place is plastered with threats of fines and fees. They are very happy to take your money but not work with you when something goes wrong. With all the fees it costs around $600 a night to stay here. For that kind of price they need to address issues when they come up.

Freddy said the best he could do is send a worker to our room, while we're in here to try and repair the damaged items. If they can't be repaired then he can swap us rooms... even when I asked about the opened availability of other rooms, he said " tonight we will sell out and I can't swap you rooms" But if the worker can't fix our room & they're sold out tonight .. how would we get swapped to begin with?... The " Freddy" front desk worker wentaround the actual solution of just swapping a room to make a guest more comfortable.. ( it's a hotel problem to begin with not his) but protecting the big company he works for and following rules that of horrible customer service, horrible hospitality, ... he still simply denied any swap of rooms until the maintenance man comes to try and fix the problems of the bathroom.. As for the WiFi, keep refreshing... LOL.
