This was our first visit. We are pizza people! The caprese pizza was very good, however, the $10.25 salad was mostly greens and when I asked for two kinds of dressings they said another $1.00...are you kidding me? It wasn't even good Italian dressing. They were stuck on taking the extra dollar rather than keeping new customers. That's really too bad because in the long run they'll lose more than $1. Go somewhere else if you want more than just pizza. Horrible policy. read more

A great foldable slice, perfect cheese to sauce ratio. We've been looking for great pizza delivery since we moved here and finally found it. The following represents my experience at BrickFire Pizza. Your experience may differ. We ordered a small cheese pizza, a small pizza with broccoli, mushrooms and spinach, and a french fry Overall = 4 stars. Could have gone 3.5 stars if system allowed. Pizza Crust = 5 stars. Really excellent crust, flavorful, chewy, perfect. Cant find a better crust anywhere. Non crust portion of pizza - 2.5 stars. both pizza's had so much cheese on them that the overall effect was a soggy pizza that just lacked an enjoyable bite. I could have understood that maybe the 3 topping pizza could present too much but the plain cheese pizza had too much cheese too. BrickFire should explore less cheese to give an overall lighter effect on the bite. French fries = 5 stars. As french fries go these were delicious. Large, crispy and flavorful. Worth coming here to order just for the fries. Dont change these ever! I wonder though if an option for these fries with chili on top would be a great seller for them? These fries could stand up to something like that being added. Will come back again as the crust and fries were excellent. But I would like to see them work on the amount of toppings and the resulting texture. read more

I was born and raised in Philadelphia so I always had a passion for cheesesteaks. Since leaving Philly 45 years ago, I never had a cheesesteak that measured up, until Brick Fire came into existence. Their cheesesteaks are unbelievable. The meat has absolutely no fat, and there is plenty of it. And the rolls are great. Was driving around looking for a place to order pizza because my fiancé and I were in the area and I'm so glad we found this place! I'm from NJ so I'm very picky about my pizza and this has been some of the best I've had since moving up here 5 years ago. We got a half cheese/half pepperoni, was ready in 5-10 min for take out, and was so good half of it was gone by the time we got home. Wasn't greasy at all either.. I usually dab the grease off but didn't have to with this one. I was so happy with this place and this will definitely be my new go-to pizza place. read more

The pizza dough is plentiful and very good(for those of you who do not mind a carbo load). But--you cannot get a slice in the evening. They only make slices during the day. Having gone in 3x for a slice and being told they make none later in the day, I will not go back. Nice clean updated pizza place. Standard pizza parlor fare, subs, salads, etc. I got a small pizza with two veg toppings, it was delicious, nice and fresh. It was also$14.34 with tax for a small 12 inch pizza. About $4 more than other places in the area. I mean, it was good, but I'm not sure it was 4 bucks extra good. I had such high hopes for this place. Finally Nick's is gone. The place looks fancy, nice, clean and upbeat - nothing comparing to old Nick's. The staff is friendly but the pizza is nothing special. Yes they claim to have the special dough and blah blah (read their menu) but Papa Gino's is a luxury pizza comparing to this one. I got a pie and the whole family agreed that pizza simply put, not good. Last two slices went straight into the trash. Ravioli's and Sweet Tomato are the only two decent places for pizza in Newton. read more

This place is amazing. The pizza is awesome and they even sell it by the slice, which are larger than the a regular large pizza slice. The French fries are great: crunchy and perfectly seasoned. I also had their veggie wrap, which is good. I'm not sure what that other person was thinking, but their quality and quantity are better then what Nicks ever had. read more

One of the best pizza places in Newton! The menu is big, with variety of items to choose from. The food is always fresh and delicious. Their pizza is very unique, with a very good crust and sauce. We're pizza snobs, raised on Buffalo pies with their sweet sauce, chewy crust, and just-stretchy-enough cheese. Having lived in the Boston area for 17 years, we've tried dozens of pizza joints, from the pretty good (North End, natch) to the mediocre (most everywhere else), to the inedible (pick any chain eatery). Deep dish, Sicilian, NY thin-crust--it doesn't really matter to us as long as the ingredients are quality and the pie is cooked to perfection. Enter Brick Fire Pizza Co.: they make a damn good pie. More than damn good: they make the best pizza I've had since moving to Boston. A big claim, I know. But I stand by it. I had two roni slices for lunch and went back for dinner. The service was friendly, the pizza was perfect, the garden salad came in a big bowl. Clean tables, clean bathrooms, smiles all around. We're hooked. Bet you'll be hooked, too. read more

I was hesitant to try Brick Fire since I loved Nick's for what it was, but I tried it tonight and it was great. It's a bit on the expensive side, but in an area where every pizza place is Greek style the crust was very light and pliable and I'll gladly pay a little extra for something different. I work nearby and I loved Nick's but have to say the nice people that bought from Nick have done a fabulous job with the restaurant. They gave it a sorely needed makeover which makes it a much more comfortable and attractive space. But more importantly, they are serving some kick-ass pizza and fabulous salads. The salads are super fresh and are generous in size. I do agree with another reviewer about the tasteless pita bread, though. Some nice, soft pita served with the salads would be very welcome. They are very organized and keep lots of orders straight and serve them with a smile. What's not to love? read more

I liked Brick Fire! The pizza reminded me of the pizza at O'Hara's/Paddy's which I also like. The crust was similar - kind of chewy but also a little bit crunchy on the bottom. I just got a large cheese pizza to split with my son and take home the leftovers. Cheese to sauce ratio was good. Restaurant was clean and service was friendly. This place is an abomination! They destroyed the local pizza stop with this expensive hipster crap to appeal to all the kids. The pizza is just average, but they are using the environment to jack up the price creating poor value. It makes no sense for takeout anymore. Impersonal service. I like the pizza and I'm annoyed by their online promotion. They offer 10% off your first online order. I created an account and received an email with my 10% off code. When I entered the code on the order, I got an alert saying that the code was not in effect. I called the restaurant and the person who answered the phone said that offer expired. I asked if they would honor it since it's on the website and I got an email with the offer code. She said "no." I don't understand why they are advertising 10% off on the website and send a confirmation email and load the coupon on my account and then they don't honor it. That is misleading and poor customer service in my opinion. read more
