What "research" can one do on daycare beyond a friend's recommendation (and to each their own), or to Yelp reviews (so take what you want from my personal experience...) And here's my background from a scholastic standpoint: I have a degree in psychology and studied in early education course work from TCNJ and I grew up in Bergen County, which any article/study will show has the top of the top public school ratings (my point, I'm no dummy and education is very important to me- curriculum and quality of staff.) Not caring and loving?... not at all. The staff is personable and always available and if as a parent you make your self known then the staff is well aware of your (and your child's of course) presence and any personal/specific needs. For example, I pack my four year old's school lunch with mostly organic and all natural food, and they CALL me if there is even an Ice Truck coming to school during the summer curriculum to make sure it is okay with me as the parent. I appreciate that during the age that is exactly what it is "PRE school" that this staff recognizes the parents as leaders in what is best for their child. The curriculum was very strong and progressive? I am type A and have an advanced child for his group and yet he ENJOYS going to school and talks about his day... simply because he is learning something new. The kids are good in the school. This school allows for variety and exploring and most importantly (for ME) is remains a fun and caring and 'everyone knows your name' environment. I am not a parent to 'leave it up to the school/daycare' to make strides with my child; that I put on myself, but to each their own. The Goddard in Wall I am not familiar with BUT I have not heard positive reviews at that location and I worked ten years down the road in Manasquan. Still, keep in mind, that Goddard is a franchise so operationally the "curriculum" is basically required to be the same - the people/staff are not. I WOULD recommend anyone to the Goddard in BRICK; I have friends in Brielle and recommend the Goddard of Brick over the one in Wall. The teachers in Brick are from Brick, and the public school system in Brick is rating SO poorly sadly even at the elementary school level that once my child completes his year of Pre-K at Goddard, we have decided moving to the Red Bank area... Brick is terrible with its school district fyi. I felt VERY fortunate to have Goddard of Brick operate as it does with its professionalism; and friendly/caring; and concerned staff... our kids are babies if they are going to any daycare, to what 8 schools are you comparing??

The directors and teachers at Tiny World understand the value of social skills and play as well as the importance of kindergarten readiness. As educators, my husband and I see the value of this approach and know that it is vital to success and security in all academic and grade levels. It is not surprising to find that many of the children at Tiny World have parents in education. We have always appreciated the flexible hours, unique programs, and comfortable facilities offered at Tiny World. There is nothing better than picking a little one up at the end of a long day who has had a chance to be outside, sing songs, and learn all at the same time. The school always smells like urine. Totally outdated. It was never the same teacher from drop off to pick up and there was NEVER a daily sheet. I never had any idea how his day went. I got a call one day from the school to pick my son up he was running a fever. When I got there he was sleeping. I asked the teacher how long he slept and she told me "he woke up for a minute screaming and woke up the entire class." Was she kidding me? I saw a picture of my son on the wall one day in the class with a random jacket on, when I asked they said it was pulled from lost and found!! HE HAD HIS OWN COAT!!!! I was disgusted. Most of the teachers have zero certification and are literally pulled off the street. I know this because I personally know one the teachers and she has no training and has popped pain killers while on the clock. The owner talks down to everyone and is extremely condescending., She seems to think we all work for her, when in reality... you work for the parents and children that pay and trust you. I strongly recommend searching for another school. My son is now in a school that we absolutely love. It was a blessing in disguise that MY post landed in her hands. I strongly recommend checking the schools public reports, which they have received derogatory marks for because a teacher didn't know how many students she had on the playground as well as others. Better schools are out there!
