This is in the heart of Hepburn, right next to the General Store and a spa. From the front, moongate has two purple flags and you can see through the glass into the store. The store is amazing with a wide selection of chinese antiques ranging from hundreds of years old to the newer ones. Each item has a tag that describes what it is, the age and the price. The owner is also very friendly and has a lot of knowledge about each item as he hand picks each one for the store throughout his travels. I stayed in the apartment downstairs and it was fantastic! For $290 Fri/Sat night it included the following: -Heating -Porch -Microwave/Kettle/Mini Fridge (they supply milk and tea and coffee) -DVD and TV -Beautiful decoration -Very comfortable bed From here, it is an easy stroll to the mineral springs, restaurants and cafes and a very short drive to the lavender farm, lakes and Daylesford town (Market on sundays!).

And by everything, I do mean everything. Slightly bedraggled couches, medicine cabinets, ceramic oddities, architect drawing boards, cement mixers - no really, everything and anything is acceptable here, as long as it's not new. Whilst you're unlikely to walk out with a total bargain, The Junk Company isn't expensive either. It's just... reasonable.

Want an art deco light shade, then head to the left hand side. Looking for some old vinyl for your music collection? Head halfway down the back on the right. What about an antique crinkle-cut chip slicer? You'll find about 12 sticking out of some old milk bottles on one of the bookshelves. Spend any amount of time in here and you will find things you never knew you wanted or even needed. It's a great spot to find a unique gift or something great for your home.

This place blew my expectations!…read more Here I was thinking it would be a simple farmers market but it's actually like the worlds biggest antiques store crossed with garage sales crossed with mini stalls of cool vintage items and various products! I got my brother this cool vintage style cushion with a French bulldog on it for his couch! There are plenty of second hand books and comics as well as a large cafe at the exit. This place could easily take 3 hours for the serious shopper. One thing I will say is that they know their prices and the value of most things so if you are looking for a "diamond in the rough" - good luck! But if you are looking for something kitsch, cool and collectible for your house than this may be the place for you!

When I finally got that fated call from the real estate agent, I immediately went here in an effort to stock my cool new house with cool, old furniture. 123 has incredible vintage furniture from the 60s, 70s right up until the 00s - think bright green vinyl sofas, sturdy metal trunks and a HEAP of wooden bar carts that will make you want to host a Mad Men-style party every weekend. But it's not just furniture, you'll also find jewellery, prints and artwork (I've got my eye on a couple of J.H. Lynch prints, keep your paws off 'em) and simply gorgeous glassware. Despite having a completely stocked house, I find myself venturing to 123 Antiques anytime I am in the area, just to see what's new.

The reason I was coaxed into this particular antique store was because it was cold and rainy outside and I was waiting to get picked up - in the cold. The fact that the shop had a roof was all the convincing I needed to head inside and check it out. I was planning on finding some musty old chair and sitting in it until my ride arrived but I ended up having a fantastic time in here. There were collections of simpsons collectibles, coloured glass in all shapes and sizes and enough old jewellery to cover the hands of hundreds of women. It was fantastic. Everything was on show in shiny display cases and they seemed to go on forever. The only sign that this shop was anything like the antique shops of my nightmares was a cockroach scuttling around inside one locked glass cabinet - that was a bit gross actually. My favourite items in the store were definitely the collection of old cameras complete with custom made cases. They were so funky and retro and at only $30 they were an absolute bargain. The service here was pretty relaxed. The staff member said hello to me when I first walked in and left me to wander after that. It was a really relaxing half an hour and I was pretty bummed when my lift did turn up. Definitely check them out, there's a heap of treasures in there.

Having said that, when trying to figure out the perfect christmas for my mother, an antique singer sewing machine came to mind. So for a month or so, every antique shop I passed I vwntured into in my quest to find one. Michael Powell, which they didn't have what I was looking for, had some pretty nice stuff. If I had the money I could easily be persuaded to buy a few antiques here and there. Of particular interest to me in this store was the wooden coffee table that would have looked perfect in my loungeroom. At $370 though, it was a little out of my price range. If antiques are you thing, give this place a go.
