Obviously that can be kind of an intense/nerve wracking experience, and when you are going into this semi-blind, you need to have confidence in your home inspection. Enter Jason & Park Hill Home Inspection. Jason was recommended to us by our realtor, and I couldn't be more happy. From the beginning Jason was very responsive and able to inspect the property on short notice. He spent time with me on the phone, explaining how the process would work and let me know about some optional services, including radon testing. Coming from CA, we don't have basements/radon, so Jason thoroughly explained what the testing, how much it cost, and then very honestly explained at-home alternatives would could perform ourselves if we wanted to save money. (!) The day of the inspection, everything went great. Jason was on-time and through, and walked my mother through all of the steps they took to inspect the home. The inspection report was extremely through, yet easy to understand for a non-professional, with photos documenting everything that was found. Our comprehensive home inspection allowed us to negotiate a fair closing credit with the sellers. I highly recommend Jason and Park Hill Home Inspection.

True professionals! Buying a home is probably going to be…read morethe biggest and most expensive decision of your life. The couple of hours that your inspector digs around the house will affect your happiness for the next thirty years of your life. Don't go cheap, don't go quick. But especially, find an inspector that knows about your type of house. One size does not fit all. My wife and I just bought our dream home in Washington Heights. This isn't just any pile of bricks. Built in 1925, the architects were the same firm that designed the Oriental Theater (Dick & Bauer). Built when things were built to last, the materials used in it's construction are not used very often today. Clay tile roof, copper gutters, lannon stone exterior, and leaded glass windows. There is even a skylight in the attic! I didn't want an inspector who specialized in three bedroom suburban ranches. A friend of mine suggested Milwaukee Homesight. They have several inspectors, each specializing in certain types of homes. Dave Kolesari, the president of Milwaukee Homesight, performed my inspection. He was very thorough. He spent the first hour on the exterior of the house, and about 2.5 hours on the inside. He pointed out things I never would have seen myself and let me know what I need to be concerned about and which items do not require immediate attention. within 48 hours of the inspection, I received a highly detailed 61 page illustrated inspection report via email. Thankfully, the house is in great condition. The biggest thing that Dave provided me with was piece of mind. By comparison, the home inspector for the buyers of the house that we sold was a joke. Maybe it's just because I have been in the house for 13 years and know absolutely everything there is to know, but I question his eyesight. He did find a leak that needed fixing, but other than that, he overlooked some fairly obvious (to me) things. His report was half the length of the report I received from MH, with a fraction of the pictures. If you are a real estate broker looking for an inspector that will rubber stamp a report so you can make a sale, I have someone I can recommend. If you are a home buyer looking for an inspector that is thorough, professional, and still reasonably priced, I would recommend Milwaukee Homesight. Actually, I already have. My boss just relocated from Minneapolis and bought a house. On my recommendation, she used MH and was very satisfied with the results.

When my fiancé and I were at the point of our home buying process where we needed a home inspection…read morewe reached out to Amelia's Home Inspection, and literally within 6 minutes John (owner of Amelia's Home Inspection) emailed me back with a breakdown of his prices for the inspection/radon testing and an introduction. From the very first email, we knew that John with Amelia's Home Inspection was our guy. He literally responded faster than I could close out of my browser and that is something that is frankly unheard of nowadays in the age of multitasking and distractions galore. John worked directly with our relator to schedule a time for the inspection so there was one less thing on our plates. Once it was confirmed all we needed to do was pay the inspection cost and show up! The day of the inspection John himself and a team member were there before me and already began the inspection on the outside of the house (it was FREEZING so I was elated not to have to stand outside with them). They promptly filled me in on what was found during the exterior/garage investigation, and even explained their process so I knew what was going to happen next. I was amazed at their level of professionalism, organization, and attention to detail. Being very inquisitive in nature, I was constantly asking questions and learning about the process. Most people get annoyed with this (I mean who doesn't get annoyed with someone asking "well what is that?" "What does that mean" or even "How can you tell?"), but John was eager to share his extensive knowledge instead of telling me to go sit in my car and stop bothering him (ha!). The amount of things I learned from being present during this inspection will stick with me for years to come. I will forever be a more attention-oriented homebuyer/homeowner. I'm going to be honest here and tell you all that my fiancé and I almost sold our souls for some stainless steel appliances and grey back splashes, but the knowledge that was imparted broke down the house for what it really was. John literally got us back a 44 page report, with photos of damaged areas that included arrows pointing to the exact location of damage, recommendations, and even photos of the exact part that would be needed in some instances. All of this was provided in....LESS THAN FOUR HOURS! A 44 page document in less than 4 hours that is extensive, articulated, and honest is something I have never seen before. Guys, it took me longer to gather the way I wanted to write this review than it took to get a highly extensive home inspection report returned to me. The best part about the report was that everything on it was already explained to me and my questions were answered. I was able to take this 44 page document and create a comprehensive list to provide to my relator to submit to the seller. Being a first time homeowner is a terrifying thing. There are many papers to sign, deadlines being shoved at you, hundreds of thousands of dollars on the line, and terminology that you have likely never heard of before. I wholeheartedly believe that if my fiancé and I went with any other home inspector we would not have walked away knew the information we know now, and our souls would have been sold for those damn stainless steel appliances. Buying a house is one of the biggest purchases that most people make and having a trusted home inspector is one way to make that process even easier. I could go on for paragraphs upon paragraphs about how hiring Amelia's Home Inspection was one of the best choices my fiancé and I made but I will leave it with this; just hire Amelia's Home Inspection and let John and his team lift this huge burden off of your chests knowing you'll get the best inspection money can buy. Short version: Just hire Amelia's Home Inspection and stop looking anywhere else. (Lastly, you can truly see how much Amelia's home inspection is for YOU the client rather than the other person based on the laughable one star review skewing these yelp review stars)
