We hired brian on a very complex case against the grandparents that were given rights in Quebec and we won in Alberta ! He wrote astonishing affidavits, and presented the case extremely well. I have dealt with so many lawyers between Ontario Quebec and Alberta and I'm so glad we finally found a lawyer that did not rip me off, is all about the action and does the job above and beyond Thanks Brian, because of your amazing work my sons are safe.

Extremely unprofessional in his conduct and terrible attention to detail. What's even more alarming…read moreis the fact that after some research into the judicial system and previous rulings... I have put forward ideas to help my case which Brian immediately shut down, saying that I was "completely wrong and didn't know what I was talking about". After some back and forth, I decided to relinquish Brian from his duties as my lawyer and solace to the matter was... when I represented myself in court - I was actually correct. So saving grace was... thank god I fired him and represented myself. Moral of the story is... if a person without the 10 years of legal education and x amount of years of experience fairs better in court than the supposed "lawyer"... I think that speaks to the lawyer's credentials.

Seth Wheeldon initially agreed to help me with a police brutality/injury case, but after a full…read moreyear of communication, with no explanation, he said "you sound lovely, but I can't help you." Now I'm left desperately searching for representation. Throughout that year, I was under the impression that Seth was taking my situation seriously. We spoke several times by phone whenever I had questions, and he told me that while a conviction is helpful, it was not required for civil action. One year after my first contact, I left a message with an update. A week later he called me back and said, "you sound lovely, but I can't help you." I was not given an explanation, despite previously being told my case was viable. Had he declined at the beginning, I would have had far more time to find another lawyer. It is extremely difficult to find anyone willing to take on cases involving police misconduct, and the wasted year has made this even harder. I originally removed my first review because I felt embarrassed mentioning that I am a victim of police brutality. However, I now believe it is important for others to know my experience before choosing this firm. After I left the original review, Raj Bhogal contacted me. At first he spoke in a way that made me feel heard and important, then told me that although he would never tell me to remove my review, he was worried that my review might prevent someone from finding a law firm that "truly cares." This comment also made me feel pressured to delete it. Raj said the trial date was too close to the deadline to sue. I later learned that lawyers can still file and get extensions for such civil cases. I did not know I needed a retainer, and I was never told this during the year of communication. I have emails and phone records documenting our communications. In the end, I was left without support and a clear reason. I hope my experience helps others make an informed decision.
