We stopped in during the St Pete 2nd Saturday Art Walk, which is really a MUST DO event. So many great galleries and shops to see in so many interesting neighborhoods. We parked by this gallery and stopped in on our way to Central Ave. They had pro sports team art by a local artist and some nice Carlton Ward photographs upstairs. He's a National Geographic photographer and has particpated in the missions up through Central Florida to highkight the areas natural features and advocate for conservation. Very friendly and helpful lady working at the gallery. They had a vintage early 70s pinball machine for sale that they let us play. :) All good.

I loved Kendra Zvonik's colorful pieces painted on handmade paper inlaid with Florida sand. I was very tempted to purchase a piece that night and am kind of sad I didn't. Their show during the most recent Art Walk featured beautiful Asian water color, Japanese calligraphy and seal engraving. Everything was gorgeous and very impressive! Its always cool to see how the resident artists have turned the warehouses into art work space and living space. Almost all of them have an Art Show Party during Art Walk making for a unique Saturday night out!

I'm not sure if this was only for the art walk, but there was a company inside selling beer and wine. They had a small selection but the wine I tried was really good. There is no food served inside, but there was a food truck outside for a while. Apparently those change or there could sometimes be multiple food trucks. If you're in the area, definitely check this out.

The husband runs the left side and his wife runs the right side. I shopped in both sides and was impressed with the variety of unique items in both stores. The husband has a decent selection of used vinyls at a great price, plenty of discounted (new) tee's, posters, framed wall art and Vargas Prints, patches, rings, hats, stickers, some modern toys and other collectables. The wife's store has plenty of art inspired clothing, hats, wigs, jewelry, and so much more, lots to see!! Both stores were packed as it was St. Pete's annual Halloween street party. More packed on the ladies side then the men's side. I purchased three patches for my vest. They were a little over $6 each but if you buy three, you only pay $15, not bad, that's about the going rate. We met the owner, Yvonne, who told us she's been here since 1978. She has a good variety of items including paintings, sculpture, glass, pottery, and jewelry. The Gallery also hosts four to five openings a year that take place between the months of November and April. Times and dates are listed on the website. If you are on Corey Avenue, Art Expo is definitely worth a look. PS. In addition to regular hours, the gallery can also be visited by appointment.

Unfortunately, I was not all that impressed with Art Expo. Many of the items they carried in the store I have seen in other areas of the country (Maine) at other art dealers. I was hoping to find more of a collection of local artists' work, but it seemed to be much of what I have experienced in other areas.
