Visiting from SF and wanted to get a haircut around Anaheim area since I have a party to attend to…read moreand couldn't see my regular stylist in sf before my trip. Read some reviews of this salon and saw the transparent pricing and decided to book for Saturday 5/23/26 (Memorial weekend!) they were able to fit me at a convenient time at 12pm. Walked in and was told to put on a gown, which was super cute since I've never been to a Korean salon! Coffee, water, and tea station is available right in the front. They washed my hair and seated me right away. I told my stylist, Lydia, an inspo pic and I'd say it gets really close to what I want! They blew dry my hair and my hair feels sooo nice after the cut and wash. If I live here, I'd definitely be back. Thank you Elle Hair Salon and Lydia

UPDATE 1: I think there was a lot of miscommunication (language barriers). I've also thin hair that…read moreadds complication. I requested a cooler mushroom ash brown & showed photos I thought were a darker, creamy brown. It came out blond so I stopped Yuna from styling, researched & asked for dark "grey ash" to rid yellow. Not upset with Yuna, just the pink brass fix. I didn't notice / ask for discount at checkout but TY. I lied w/ "it's okay" because I was stressed and wanted to leave, but I told Yuna the truth at checkout. I just want this fixed. ORIGINAL: Fresh from Elle Salon and I'm still so upset, so I'm documenting my experience here as an honest warning. I wanted to really like this place. I loved their website, price transparency and ease of booking an appt. Yuna was relatively meticulous with doing my balayage (except for one blunt weird spot on the back of my head) and tried to be nice to the end. That's all I can say that was good. Maybe others had a better experience, but be aware that they give a free service for following/liking on IG and/or posting on Yelp. I wanted to give a good review but I can't in good conscience and chose to write this after coming home because I just really wanted to leave ASAP after my experience. For the sake of this sad tale, I'm breaking it down into 2 treatment situations. 1ST Request: MUSHROOM BROWN. Result: Orangey brassy blond. Details: I booked an appt for today (1/2) to treat myself after not cutting or coloring it for some time (so it was virgin black hair). I simply wanted a cool mushroom brown lob. I emphasized multiple times that I wanted no brassy tones and wanted to keep it cool with plans to transition to silver later. I showed multiple inspo pics and even showed a zoomed in closeup of the color I wanted. Yuna took photos of my photos and took her time painting my hair w/bleach. When she showed me a color book with a platinum, I assumed it was the strength of bleach she was doing. I told her I wanted a darker color. After my hair was washed and they brought me to the mirror and attempted to style me and send me out---I realized that WAS "cool mushroom brown" to her. It was a weird orange blond color, which looks like someone else's in Elle's reviews on Yelp (I'm reposting it here too as I wish I took a picture of my 1st result). I told her I didn't expect it so yellow and asked for a darker color. They sent me to the wash station & told me to tell them what color I wanted. I was stressed as they were talking in Korean and maybe thought I was being extra while I was trying to research with AI for quick damage control since no colorist or person was offering help or giving me suggestions. 2ND Request: DARK ASH GRAY. Result: Pink with brassy undertones and strands of brassy blond. Details: I flagged someone & I told them I wanted "dark ash gray" and gave them my inspo pic. I told them I wanted cool tones and just wanted it to be less yellow. Yuna took my phone and brought it to someone at the front (the manager/colorist?) for mixing. After they applied it, washed my hair & brought me back to the mirror, they then told me they used purple and the manager/colorist person said (rather impatiently) that my picture had lavender (heck no, it's literally ash gray and caption on photo says ash gray) and they chose that color to cancel out my brassy hair (which again, I NEVER asked for!). I don't know much about color, but wouldn't non-red tones like blue have been a better choice? Ironically, after adding pink, my hair looked closer to the cool mushroom ash brown I initially wanted, but it still had brassy undertones. I was upset but just waited for them to dry and style my hair. When I got to the restroom to look, there were clearly still patches of bleached hair including a huge strand by my right ear with a brassy undertone all over my head. I pointed it out to Yuna at checkout and honestly told her I wasn't happy. Even she looked a bit shocked when I pulled out the bleached strand by my ear and showed it to her. She told me I could come back again in a week and she'd help me fix it for free. Right now, I'm still quite upset that I paid so much for something that was supposed to be a treat. Yuna did her best to be nice the whole time, but the results were not what I wanted. I wanted to avoid red and avoid brassiness and I ended up with both and splotchy bleached hair. Perhaps if you're Korean and can communicate better or want something simpler, you'll get better results, but I was not happy. I really wanted to like this place, I did.

Erika did my hair today before my trip and everything came out great!…read more Definitely brightened up my face exactly how I wanted it. I'll be back in a month or so for my touch up!

I did not want to leave this review, but I'm not sure what else to do…read more I spent over $1,000 and six months trying to get back to a hair color I never asked to change. Then I was told not to return as a client. This is that story. Erika did my hair in October and it was genuinely one of my favorite colors I've ever had it was warm, blended, dimensional brunette/blonde balayage. Beautiful, I even included a photo. Every appointment after that had one goal: maintain that exact look. I sent the same reference photos every single time. Same color. Same warmth. Just refreshed. In January I asked about a refresh as my hair had grown out. She recommended a partial. I paid $250 + tip and left noticeably blonder, the warmth and dimension I loved were gone. I only learned after the appointment that a partial wouldn't recreate that look and that I'd need to pay for a full service to add the dimension back. A detail that would have been helpful to know beforehand. She offered a complimentary fix, I agreed. She added more foils, and I left even blonder. She then told me only a full could fix it at that point. So I paid for a full -- $350 + tip -- to fix something I never asked to change. To be clear, I paid for a partial and a full within two weeks. Unfortunately, the full was overcorrected and came out too dark. I said nothing, paid graciously, and trusted the process that it would lighten over time due to the amount of bleach we used in the weeks prior. Two months later I asked if enough time had passed to finally get back to my October color. She said yes. We did a full, another $350 + tip. The day before my birthday. When I got home, everyone in my family immediately asked what happened to my hair. I checked in the bathroom and couldn't believe it. Honestly, I don't know how I didn't catch it when I left the salon. The front pieces were white-blonde. The crown was orange-red. Nothing like the reference photos I had sent of my October color -- again -- the day before. And beyond the color, my front pieces are now visibly damaged, breaking off, covered in flyaways from repeated bleaching. I have been bleaching my hair since I was 18 and have never experienced this. Photos are attached of this coloring. I woke up on my birthday and wore a headband all day. I texted Erika that morning. She suggested a toner. When I showed the exact same photos to the salon owner Melissa, she identified it as a root and shadow issue, not a toner issue. The outside stylist who corrected my hair two days later fixed it with a root tap. Two other professionals weren't even seeing the same problem Erika was. That's why I didn't go back. I paid $160 out of pocket for that emergency correction two days after my birthday. When I reached out about a resolution initially, I wasn't asking for a refund. Because Erika had mentioned the cost of product she'd spent on me, I felt bad, so I asked only for a complimentary updo for my birthday party. No product. No color. No refund. Just an updo. That was declined. Then I was told not to return. For what it's worth, Melissa acknowledged after seeing my photos that something clearly needed to be fixed and offered to correct it herself, confirming the problem was real. Initially she said Erika was her own entity and I had to handle it with her directly, but after seeing my photos she kindly offered to fix it using her own time and products. But that conversation came after I had already paid someone else to fix it, and after the damage was done. The harsh reality is I spent over $1,000 and well over 10 hours in a salon chair trying to undo a color change I never asked for. I tipped generously at every appointment and enjoyed our talks in the chair. I kept coming back because I genuinely believed we would get there. Erika, I liked you. I rooted for you. And I was still told no, and then not to come back. A refund for that last appointment would have been the right thing to do. I think you know that. If you're considering booking here get a detailed breakdown of exactly what your service will and won't include before anything starts, and confirm it in writing. I kept giving the benefit of the doubt long after I should have stopped. Don't make the same mistake I did.

If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would…read more I feel a responsibility to share my experience with Christie, as it was not only professionally disappointing but also personally distressing. While my initial appointments went relatively well, everything changed when I came in with some minor hair matting. Rather than responding with care or professionalism, Christie's demeanor and service took a drastic turn once it became clear that this appointment wouldn't lead to the usual $1,000 every three months for Keratin strand replacements --extensions which, for the record, should not fall out prematurely if applied correctly. Instead of taking the time to properly detangle the matted extensions, Christie cut both my bonded strands and my healthy, natural hair--so severely that I was left with an uneven, choppy, almost bald appearance. I have used Keratin extensions for over 20 years and have never had this happen. Her application technique appears rushed and diluted; the bonds fell out far earlier than they should have, likely due to minimal adhesive and reduced service time--both of which seem designed to maximize her profit, not the client's satisfaction. Because my hair was now too short for Keratin (as a direct result of her poor handling), Christie convinced me to purchase weft extensions. What she failed to disclose was that these wefts are bought at cost from her brother-in-law--a clear conflict of interest that was never communicated to me. Instead, she charged me a 150% markup for thin, poor-quality hair that was see-through and visibly inadequate. This lack of transparency isn't just unethical; it's appalling. What made the experience even more humiliating was how she handled it in real time. Rather than speak to me with professionalism, she continually left the room to vent to her coworkers about "the situation." This behavior was profoundly unprofessional, degrading, and traumatic. I sat in the chair mortified, knowing I was being discussed behind my back while my hair was being hacked off. When I got home and realized just how poor the weft quality was, I immediately contacted her, offered to return the unused hair, and asked for a refund. She refused to take accountability or offer any form of remedy. I was left with damaged hair, a depleted bank account, and a complete sense of betrayal. For anyone considering QUALITY Keratin extensions: they are a bonded product and, if applied with skill and integrity, should last 4-6 months--not begin falling out in weeks. Christie's approach seems to cut corners to ensure repeat visits, regardless of the harm it causes. I cannot overstate how devastating this experience was. The emotional toll of losing my hair--combined with the unethical practices, lack of transparency, and demeaning treatment--makes this the worst salon experience I've ever had. I would strongly caution anyone considering services here to think twice.

Christie is what I like to call a hair magician. My natural hair is EXTREMELY fine, flat, and hard…read moreto manage. I told Christie my main goal was volume, not length, and she delivered! She recommended I go with sew in wefts - she did three rows for me, which is the perfect amount of hair! Christie - thank you so much! It is the FIRST time I've actually loved my hair. I've since been back from my initial install for two more re-ties. Basically moving the extension weft back up to the root. I am literally in and out in less than 20 minutes. It is so easy and my daily maintenance is practically nothing! Just wash & brush really well, and braid it loosely before sleeping. Bonus - I can't even feel them! No pain, discomfort, or itchy-ness. Christie is a pleasure to spend time with and genuinely cares about her clients. If you are on the fence, go in for a consultation- you won't regret it! I also used her clip in extensions she has for my wedding. She does a great job not only matching the color, but the texture and weight for a seamless, natural look. She also cares about the health of your natural hair to prevent breakage. If you want length, volume, or just more hair to play with, Christie is your girl!
