Awesome brunch and bloody Mary's. Wait staff are friendly and accommodating. Love the kitchy decor and phrases. Jambalaya, chilaquiles and pancakes were on point. See ya again soon BR

Another place that I would always walk or past by whenever I'm in Belmont shores. Finally gave in and tried it out. The beginning of the week as it was still pretty early and plenty of tables open. There's a small parking lot next to it as well as but both metered street parking along the front as well as parking in the neighborhood. Just read the signs to be safe as I've been seeing lots of cars getting parking ticket. Monday just around a late breakfast and plenty of tables which it was still a wait to be seated. There was a host and a couple of the waiters working. The restaurant is an open concept feel. Main dining area has the bar as well as the patio. There a side dining area which all has the outdoor feel. They also have merchandise along one side of the wall for purchase. Menu wise, pretty much breakfast. I'm not sure if there's a separate menu for later on or if that was it. Service was nice once we got taken care of. It's a looked like a full bar where it could also be utilized for a meal as there's seating along the counter. Food, one of the omelets. Portuguese linguisa sausage, applewood smoked bacon, sausage, tomato, green bell peppers, herbs and the BR cluckin "good hot" sauce served with house potatoes and toast with butter and jam. It was quite tasty and flavorful. The omelette was also a nice yellow color compared to others. Also had an order of the breakfast jambalaya with shrimp, Portuguese sausage, rice, red bell peppers, and roasted tomatoes sauce and topped with three eggs any style and green onions. This dish was tasty with nice big shrimps not bay shrimp. A nice touch with the eggs, rice was flavorful. Staff were all friendly and food was nice. Love the plates that the meal comes on which literally everyone's looked massive. Restroom is located along the walkway of the kitchen so waiting is along the side. It does pick up fast so weekend can be a good wait time.

Once again they delivered. Popped in on a Friday morning for breakfast. The weather was perfect, it wasn't to crowded. We waited less than 5 minutes to be Service was dialed in. Attentive without hovering, friendly without forcing it...they had the rhythm down. You can tell when a spot runs smooth, and this place does. Now let's get into the real reason we're here : the food. I ordered the Jalapeño Bacon Cheddar Sausage Omelet with a side of classic pancakes, and yeah...this combo hits. The omelet was loaded with flavor, perfectly cooked, and had that nice kick from the jalapeño without overpowering everything else. Pancakes? Soft but with a crispy sear, warm, and exactly what you want on the side. My wife went with the French Toast plus Brussels sprouts and potatoes sweet meets savory done right. Everything came out hot, fresh, and seasoned on point. No misses. Side tip: ask for the real maple syrup. Game changer.

First impression last! I like the atmosphere, very homey, chill vibe. The food is straightforward, comfort food. Good coffee which is important. I wish they improve the service.

One of my favorite breakfast spots, it's close to the water so the patio seating gets a nice breeze or you can do the indoor seating. Food is good and it super expensive. I really like the ambiance and service is really good, very friendly.

This one day, I was craving breakfast....but like a different kind of breakfast that hits different and Breakfast Republic hit the spot! It's one of those little restaurants that make you feel at home. Thankfully, I went on a day when it wasn't busy at all, so I was seated right away and I chose to sit at the cozy bar area. First off, I was dying laughing at their Christopher Walken "Easter egg" outside for those who get it! If you go here, you'll know what I'm typing about! LOL! Okay, back to my review where I left off at the bar seating... I was greeted by 1 White dude and 1 light skinned black chick, whom I totally forgot their names!!! It's been killing me because I should've noted them on my phone! But yeah... the guy really nice and the lady was very welcoming while also recommending what they liked from this place. All around is the most random decor and art...from their merch booth, to their Albert Einstein quote. There is a really cool uplifting quote on the wall that reads: "Never left success get to your head and never let failure get to your heart". Many people these days need to learn from this; especially when they're leechy clout chasers and ungrateful parasites over idiots and social media influencers as opposed to people who have legit been there for them. But that's another story! LOL! Sorry, that Breakfast Republic quote really hits home with me and I LOVE IT! The cool lady server at the bar recommended that I try her favorite... their Breakfast Jambalaya! It was loaded with some nice sunny side up eggs atop some jambalaya with shrimps, sausage, etc. that had a damn good kick in heat and flavor to it! It definitely showcased a reason for me to come back and want to try their other stuff!!! 5 stars all around! Oh yeah... their parking is small & a hit or miss, but try your luck with the other spots around; but my advice is to basically try to go when you know many people will not go.

Absolute must try. Love coming here. The service is always amazing and the food is delicious. The only thing I don't like is the wait. There's always a long wait. So don't come hungry lol. That said, the service does not lack. They are on it. Been here a couple of times and it never disappoints. I've had their Power Bowl, Steak-n-Eggs, and the Chilaquiles. Every menu item I have had was a 10/10. My favorite is the Steak-n-eggs. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I've sat in both. Prefer sitting on the patio. It's not a big space. They also have an espresso machine to make any coffee you desire.

Why did the chicken cross the road? It was headed to Breakfast Republic. BR is one of the undeniable breakfast heavyweights on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore, and quite possibly the busiest morning spot in the neighborhood. Birthed from San Diego, this breakfast joint makes delicious meals. We arrived right at opening, snagging one of the few parking spaces tucked beside the restaurant. Though a cup of joe is usually my steady companion at breakfast, I abandoned it in favor of their special: the Café de Olla Pancakes. Imagine coffee‑infused pancakes soaked in a glistening pool of syrup and topped with a generous swirl of coffee cream. Dessert for breakfast? Absolutely! We also shared the Breakfast Burrito, a wonderfully overstuffed bundle filled with avocado, potatoes, eggs, and your choice of protein, paired with a side of Spanish rice and black beans. This is comfort food executed with confidence. For my drink, I ambitiously ordered the UNLIMITED Strawberry Lemonade. I fully intended to down at least two cups, but I barely made it through one. It was a small defeat for me. By the time we stepped outside, a line had already formed. I couldn't help but feel grateful that we kicked off the day early. As the saying goes, the early bird gets the worm.

First time here and everything was so good! I tried the vegan burrito, tres leches pancakes (thank you Ivan for the recommendation) and the cafe de olla! The staff was so nice and the ambience was so refreshing and inviting! Will definitely be coming back for those pancakes alone!

Delicious brunch spot! Came with a group 4 adults and a baby. They had a high chair and we were seated in their outdoor patio. We found street parking. Staff was friendly. This spot gets pretty busy so jump on their waitlist early. I had the chicken sausage egg omelette and cinnamon roll pancakes. Potatoes were crispy and everything tasted delicious. Fresh orange juice was also very refreshing! Our friends really love this spot because they have a pretty solid vegan selection!

Tuesday morning at 9:45am, we waited 45 minutes and still didn't have our food--really disappointing for our first visit. It didn't seem busy, so we're guessing they might have been short staffed, which could explain the delay. That said, the eggs were really good. The Portuguese sausage omelette was definitely better than the jalapeño cheddar omelette. However, the Brussels sprout potato upgrade was not worth it--very oily, the potatoes didn't taste fresh, and there was barely any Brussels sprouts included. My husband was especially looking forward to trying the cold foam (which they didn't have available today). Honestly another letdown given the overall experience.

The vibe has shifted toward a more minimalist coffee cafe aesthetic, and the menu has seen a significant overhaul. The Food & Value: I was disappointed to see the old favorites go. The Chicken & Waffles, previously a staple with three wings, has switched to dark meat only (thighs) with zero substitutions. As someone who isn't a fan of dark meat, that was a major letdown. I opted for the Lemon Pancakes ($21), and while the presentation was stunning, the taste was underwhelming and the portion size was surprisingly small--my son's kids' meal actually had more food than mine. The Silver Lining: The service is still the highlight here. Our server, Jorge, was absolutely fantastic--attentive, kind, and professional. The entire staff was very nice, but unfortunately, the price point doesn't quite match the current portion sizes or flavor profile. The menu was interesting which had a theme of shrimp; there was eggs Benedict with shrimp, but not an item to order a regular one without it? Sure maybe could have ordered and asked without shrimp but pay the same price? Pass. Ok when I called they mentioned they serve brunch until 3? 3:30 I can't remember. The server mentioned they serve the brunch all day? Either way when I got to ordering this month on the menu it highlighted the shrimp po boy. I tried to order and nope, out. How can you be out of the item highlighted as the special in the middle of the day? When the place is not packed? I tried to order the lobster roll and again, out. I was tempted to order their short rib poutine since in theory it sounded good, but at this point I tried something simple I would hope they have in the kitchen chicken and waffles. The plate came and it looks good. If you look at the picture at the bottom of the chicken you can see a dark something. As I lift my chicken I found a huge burnt piece of breading pictured next. On top of the chicken is green onion I think? Who eats that with chicken and waffles? If I am wrong, a garnish is totally unnecessary for this dish. The chicken was moist. There are spices in the flour breading I can see but hard to taste what it is. The waffle is a hard pass for me. The waffle was crispy which is good, but also thin and dry and I couldn't taste any sweetness until I put maple syrup on it. The syrup came out warm which was nice. It's clear watching the people at the bar this is a local hangout. The chicken and waffles were $19 which if I was in the bay I think it's about right, but I think a little high considering the level of food I got. Supposedly this place is packed specifically on Sundays. The server doesn't know why? I'm not interested to even try to come back for a second chance and just be told sold out of the menu.
