They were able to squeeze us in at the outside seating. The waitress spoke English and the food came out quickly. The menu was a little confusing, it all seemed to be the same thing. She tried to explain but it was still a little odd. We ordered anyhow an ended up with way too much food, but it was all good. A good place to try some traditional food and soup. The bathroom was downstairs if that is an issue for anyone, but it was clean.

Everything we ate and tried was full of wonderful flavor. We received this chain as a recommendation from a co-worker. He goes to the locations in Poznan. I am happy to hear there is one closer to us. Our food was brought to us promptly, despite the rush of a Sunday mid-morning crowd. We had the tomato soup (creamy and sweet - delicious), the dry pancake beef, a chicken salad (delicious maybe air-fried chicken pieces?), and a dry pasta with chicken, spinach and cream. Needless to say the salad was too muh for me and I barely made a dent in the pasta. We will try the other locations on our travels. The sweet pancakes looked incredible!

Also, the atmosphere of the whole restaurant makes you feel you can sit in and stay chatting for a long time. It's main speciality are pancakes. I had to stay in Opole for a little over two months and didn't speak a word of Polish and I ate every single day here because there's so much to choose from! Breakfast, lunch/brunch, dinner, you name it, they have it. There's also a menu in English! Pancakes are great but you've got to try the fried rolls (they kinda look like a giant deep fried burrito) and the beetroot soup, TRY IT! Pancakes filled with salmon and with asparagus were terrific. Beer is also great and they have an aloe vera drink which is actually very healthy and tastes a bit like grapes, funny. For whom? Everyone. Not suited for business dates. A romantic date? Could be, but it is more of a friend meetup place. You can go there to have a full meal or just for something small and some drinks. Families are welcome, but children might get bored since there isn't a playground or a special place for them. Vegetarians/Vegans? There are a lot of vegetarian options but vegan not that much. You can however, veganize some items by asking them without cheese or cream or with a different dressing. Any tips? I'd recommend going there somewhere between 12 and 16:00 since it is not that full. Also, the portions are big, so try not to order so many things until you've actually eaten all of your pancake!

At 9:00 pm, Wroclaw's square was hopping with pedestrians patronizing the dozens of restaurants, bars and clubs with their European-style seasonal sidewalk cafes that line the square of this attractive college town of 600,000 making it the third or fourth largest metropolitan area of Poland after Warsaw and Kraków. La Scala, a well-renowned Italian eatery with an attractive outside-awning'd cafe was our choice for the evening. I have dined in many of the Wroclaw's most popular restaurants over the years having been involved in our company's business activities in this region but last night was a first for La Scala. The baked lasagna was the talk of our end of the table and in fact became my choice after sharing a few outstanding appetizers of bruschetta and calamari. I could tell immediately by the full-bodied tomatoes and zesty-sweet sauce on the appetizers that La Scala was for real...a real Italian enclave tucked into this meat-and-potatoes corner of the world. Their signature lasagna was served piping hot in a large baked dish. It's distinguishing feature was its surprisingly light sheets of pasta interlaced with cheese and their prize-winning tomatoey topping. La Scala got the job done in style for our large group last night. Got to throw 'em a quattro.
