I think I would give this place at least 4 stars if it weren't the ridiculous wait or came here for drinks/lunch instead of dinner. According to Google, they are opened from 12pm-12am every day. Although that is not completely wrong, but they fail to mention that dinner is served at 7 pm. We arrived at around 5:30 pm thinking that we will skip the crowd because the French eat dinner late. So wrong! We were told that dinner is served at 7 pm and she is not taking reservations. She wasn't rude, but short and I don't have time for you (tourist) type attitude. We walked around had coffee/drinks and came back at 6:45 pm, there were at least 20 people waiting in line in this narrow alley/walk way. Now, we are far too invested in this to not wait, plus we are hungry!
I would say we were seated at around 7:30 pm or so. We sat outside because that was the only table available. It was fine since it was a warm October night but I didn't like people staring us eat because there were still people lining up to get in at like 9-10 pm.
Now, on to the food. Escargot was very good but it was out of the shells and that took away the experience. Foie Gras was good but plain and came with two slices of salty toast. Loved the truffle sausages and wish I had ordered a bottle of red wine, instead of white. The star of the meal was the Vin Jaune and Morel Mushroom Chicken for 2 people. The creamy sauce is so delicious and served with rice pilaf. It was very pricey tho $60 euros for that dish.
I think the restaurant is 3 or 4 levels. I lost track going up the stairs looking for the bathroom which was all-gender. There is a cocktail bar/lounge on the top level that looks like it's for locals only. Like I said, I wish I had came here for lunch and be able to enjoy the interior of the restaurant. read more
