Went in to get an alignment was told 300 plus dollars to order a part and fix alignment. Skeptical so I went to Honda and got the SAME alignment the SAME DAY and they fixed it and nothing was needed to ordeto fix the alignment. Will not be returning, sucks to think this could happen but it did, don't believe these guys they will do anything to get your money. read more

I went this brakes plus and had a alignment done. After leaving I noticed it was worse then when I went to brakes plus. Even my steering wheel was not centered correctly, as it was when I took my car to brakes plus. Took car back next day and it was supposedly fixed admiting to me what happened. Thought it was possibly fixed, and within 2 days I had same vibration issue. At this point I drove to big O tire where I purchased tires and need a screw removed from my right front tire. I asked them at Big O tire to check my alignment. They did find my issue. The cam bolts needed to be replaced and shimmed to get proper alignment. I went immediately to brakes plus and their response was, but," By Sheet specs. It was aligned properly ." It was, but could not hold alignment. It cost me another 213.00 to get the alignment when I had paid Brakes plus already to perform this act! The response should have been to rectify the problem. Maybe they should start watching for cam bolts more often. ALL THE TIME!! I strongly advise to never expect a proper alignment on your vehicle. Brakes plus sucks!!! read more

If you're like me then every time you walk into a place to get work done on your car you feel like you are going to get bent over and well................you know what I'm talking about. I took my Jeep Grand Cherokee to another brake place that sounds like Yust Brakes. It seemed shady as soon as I walked in. They took me around to show me what needed done. And after a $1900 + estimate I just got the brake pads done. (And this is because you have to sign that they will do the work before they inspect your vehicle). I can get a new Jeep a year earlier than mine for that much. Are you kidding me? So obviously I wanted a second opinion and took it to Brakes Plus where I had some work done in the past. I went in and felt a different vibe. It didn't seem like pressure sales. I told Joe, the manager, what happened and he said he sees it all the time. He explained to me why the other place was so expensive. He said he'd take a look at what the other place said was wrong and let me know what needed to be done........free of charge. He also explained that what they were charging for were things that came together and they were just selling them separately. You can tell now that I know a lot about cars can't you with all the big words I'm using for car parts? Ok, it was something about calipers, boots, replacing stuff, etc, etc. I can tell you that I did need shocks. One was leaking and one was making a rattling sound when I went over the slightest bump. Joe took me out, told me that I didn't need all the work the other place said I did. He also told me about the deal they were having with shocks. Buy 3 get one free. $20 rebate on top of that. He gave me an envelope, put a sticker for the address on, highlighted the parts numbers I was to put on the rebate. Nice. Then he told me that my rear rotors were too thin to rotor. Is that right? Anyway, he told me what it would cost but also told me that it wasn't necessary to replace them now. "Will affect my braking? Will it wear the pads down quicker?" "No and No." And he told me that I could just replace them next time I need pads. Oh! Honesty is cool. After all was said and done he also informed me about the loud "EEEEEK!" that happens when I lock my door. "That happens with all Jeeps." Awesome. And then he told me that he could fix the cloudiness on the cover for my headlight and that it was an easy fix with a polish. And this is after everybody and their brother told me it would be $350 for the replacement, not ever telling me there was another solution. I had a great experience at this Brakes Plus and will take all my business there for the things they can fix. And if you were wondering. The shocks were the only things that needed fixing and it was $100 less than the 'other guys.' read more

Tried them for a wheel alignment. Bought tires and my favorite tire store said they don't do alignments. Gave me a 10 dollar coupon for Brakes Plus. Went to the one on S. Federal. They were responsive, clear on pricing, and even addressed a concern I had with the battery terminals. They said it would take about 45 minutes to an hour and I was out of there in less time than that with all concerns handled. A+ service. read more

We went in for a simple alignment and ended up having more damage. Ron and Anthony were absolutely amazing. What could have been the worst experience imaginable, became a great experience. They went above and beyond to help us find the part we needed and even drove for hours to get it and fix it. The original time the car would be done is a day later. After all their hard work we got the car back the same day. Usually, I get a lot of anxiety going in for car repairs but with the service they provide and the awesome people that work there I couldn't have chosen a better place to take my car. read more

After telling them exactly what I wanted done and if they had time to do it in an hour or so . They replied the could. I waited 15 minutes for them to get my truck in the bay then another 29 for them to bring me out and show me exactly what I had already told them I wanted done. So now I'm 45 minutes into the process and they have now showed me that I needed done exactly what I said needed done WTF Then a ten minute sales pitch on a bunch of up sells I didn't need or want. I started my morning calling a few stores to see if they had time to work on my Ford Excursion, I had some brake, alignment and shock issues. I talked with Jose, and he told me to bring it in as soon as I could and they would get me done, same day, as I live about 70 miles away. I was very happy with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff in general and Jose in particular. They had found a couple things causing my troubles and Jose showed me exactly what the issues were, and didn't oversell things I didn't need. It was taking a little longer than originally planned, because of the additional work they had to perform, and I needed to still get to Discount Tire to replace two of my tires that had gone bad because of my bad ball joints. Jose lent me his personal car to take the wheels to Discount and have the tires replaced while they continued to work on my car. This saved me at least an hour! It makes me sad to write this because the guys that work here seemed very nice and trustworthy... I was wrong. We took our car in because it died while driving. They said the timing belt snapped so they fixed it for $1,200. Well after they fixed it they found more problems (which I understand happens 90% of the time when your timing belt snaps) and they basically needed to rebuild the engine and it would cost a few thousand more. We decided to just purchase a new car. Well, we sold our old broken car on craigslist and the man that bought it fixes up cars and sells them as a side job and we gave him all the invoices we have had from breaks plus (we have been going to breaks plus for 2 years) The man we sold the car to gave me a call a few days later to kindly tell me not to take our cars to breaks plus anymore because they were "screwing us". They told us that they need to replace both heads in the engine but really only one needed to be replaced.... they also said they replaced the spark plugs but the guy said they have not been replaced since the car was made!! I don't like to write bad reviews about places... in fact... this is the first time I have ever written a online review. Like I said before, this makes me sad to write but I don't think its fair and I want to make sure others do not get "screwed". After I told them that we would be selling the car, I told them that I trusted them, was thankful for them and that we would be back.... Not anymore... Sad day.. read more

I changed my brake pad in this store almost a year ago. And my brake pad already wore out. I didn't put many milages on it in this year. I checked my recipe, I found out they didn't write down the milages on my car when I changed the brake pad and how many milages can those brake pad last. Horrible took my car for alignment tried to up sell me parts which I know for a fact I did not need just replaced less then 3 months ago from a mechanic my family has used for 10 years so I know it should not have any issues and my car ran perfectly fine before now i hear grinding and scrapping and is no longer driveable there is no reason what so ever that your car should feel worse leaving a mechanic shop then when it arrived brakes plus thanks for the outstanding service smh now time to go fork out more cash because of crap service read more

Got everything fixed for probably less than what anywhere else would have charged. If it hadn't been cheap and efficient, with good customer service, they would have received the lowest rating. I was a little annoyed that they didn't check the battery before calling, and my car had to be jumped in the lot. I was double annoyed when I had to go in AGAIN because the dead battery had tripped my dash lights and those needed to be reset. About an hour after leaving I also noticed that $15 was missing from my center console, when I had placed $70 in there just before dropping it off the day before, because I had no pockets and thought it was going to be a 2 hour alignment when I first went in. Manager glossed it over saying his crew wouldn't do that, but stuff was also in a different order than it had been when I left, and an item I had left on the passenger seat was in the center console. So someone definitely opened it. Whatever. Thanks for the fix but I wont be going back. Guess I learned a lesson about leaving cash in my car. read more

I took my car in a few weeks ago for oil change and check up as it's definitely the best deal in town. I was told I need break work which I expected and that I had different options to choose. I left feeling really positive about the business and I made an appointment in the system saying what I needed and took my car in. Upon checking in I explained my car had already been looked at, but it took a couple of times for them to actually look in the system. Then they said I needed a rotor replacement instead of a machining process that is more than 100 less. This was different information than I was given and not what I was expecting. They said it would take an hour to have another look so I walked out. Not very helpful when I thought I should have been set. read more

WILL NEVER RETURN. The staff is great with the exception of manager, JOE ARCHULETA. Having gone here for close to 3 years for my car maintenance, the one time I opted to not have my brakes replaced (too expensive), Joe yelled at me, "Leave and go somewhere else then!" He stormed off cursing! This occurred not only in front of his staff but also in front of other customers. Seriously??? His staff apologized for his behavior and informed me that he treats them like this at all times. Awful. I cannot imagine having to work under Joe Archuleta. He is rude, loud, unprofessional, and obviously mentally unstable. I hope the corporate office reviews Joe's managerial background and interviews his employees on his business ethics. I, myself, will no longer put my money into a business that allows it's management to treat its customers and employees with disrespect and blatant hostility. I'm willing to bet that Brakes Plus has lost a lot of money and good staff members due to Joe's behavior. Shame on you, JOE ARCHULETA - remember the golden rule. read more

I called the guys at 1pm and Anthony managed to squeeze me in for a 2pm appointment even though they were full! They were packed for the day, very busy, but when I explained that my brakes suddenly started grinding and I had to drive all the way to the Denver airport for work for the next 5 days, he went out of his way to help. Once I was there all of the staff was very friendly, clear, and answered any questions. Also at the end, I asked about changing the brake fluid and Anthony even said "sure but you dont need it! The fluid is still clear!" I thought it was amazing to have an honest mechanic that didn't just take my money but was honest about what I needed and did not need! I also had a $20 coupon for the brake job, but Anthony pulled out his phone and shared a $25 coupon! I always came to Brakes Plus in Westminster when I lived here before and this was why.
