I had a unit with the Extra Space Storage on 108 Skateway Dr. in Fayetteville, NC. I didn't have…read moreany issues before but after I got robbed from unit I no longer use them and wouldn't advise anyone to use them. To give some context, I had my unit for over a year and had went by there to put a few things inside it. I had things from mychildhood and collectibles that were irreplaceable. I didn't secure the lock on my unit and I was notified but I live an hr outside of Fayetteville. I got to my unit a few days later and saw that it had been robbed. At least $3000 worth of things were taken. I called the police and did the necessary steps to report it. I filed a claim and was told because the unit was not 'forcefully' broken into there was nothing they would reimburse me for. Therefore I could not get paid back for anything that was stolen. I moved my remaining belongings out soon after that. I have been in contact with the detective over my case and he informed that this has happened 15 separate times at that same faculty. He had advised that I moved my things out (to which I already had) and that no one should use that faculty at all. This is in contrast to the manager I spoke with the day I discovered my things were gone, she said that this almost never happens. I am sharing this to let others know and to hopefully prevent anyone from having to go through this. DO NOT use the Extra Space Storage on 108 Skateway Dr, Fayetteville NC. They have allowed 16 people to get robbed out of their units and their company will not reimburse you for the things you held dear being taken from a place where there is supposed to be secure. On top of that, they raise the rates higher every other month, my bill started at $87 then was raised to $158 before being lowered to $123 then being raised again (after my things were stolen) to $166. Please be mindful of the place you chose to use and don't use them.

I am still…read moredeployed and on August 15, 2023 I received a call from the manager Debbie (very sweet, attentive and helpful) that all FOUR of my tires and rims were stolen. Allegedly the cameras have been down due to those tampering with it and it hasn't been recording since June 23rd. My colleagues who have been checking my car after the receiving news of theft told me the security gate has been wide open even after hours for a week straight now. My car has been sitting there venerable for over a month while MULTIPLE property managers worked there during my deployment and failed to contact me about the incident until Debbie informed me. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PROPERTY IN THIS LOCATION!! I've spent loads of money just to get my car out of there on top of continuing to pay for monthly services where my tires and rims were stolen and they've neglected to contact me or immediately fix their preventive security measures.
