We used Pete Jalbert to purchase our home in Kihei, and strongly recommend him! Pete went above and…read morebeyond researching the permits and zoning of houses we considered, was always on time for appointments, and drove across the island on short notice more than once. My husband found him after a friend of his (a real estate agent from the mainland) vetted many potential agents for us. Our friend told us he knew Pete was the perfect agent for us because he focused on details, made decisions based on data, and wasn't fixated on making the sale over finding the right property for the client. In a market like Maui, where options are limited and it can feel like compromise is a necessary evil, Pete's willingness to recommend against offers is crucial. Pete never encouraged us to overbid and was always honest about the negative qualities of properties we viewed. If anything, he may at times be too cautious, and is always under promising and over delivering. If you're looking for an honest, smart, and reliable agent, look no further! We have kept in touch and he has continued to provide valuable guidance after we closed on our home.

We've just sold our home through Billy Jalbert and the Maui Real Estate Team! The process was…read moresmooth and relatively stress-free thanks to the skills of Billy and his brother Pete, two of the nicest and most sincere people we know. The transaction was handled professionally and calmly with attention to detail, and our house sold in a very short period of time in the current market, just over three months. We chose the Maui Real Estate Team because we had bought our house through Billy when we came to Maui in 2005, and we found him to be a good fit for us with his calmness, honesty, helpful attitude, and his knowledge of Maui. At that time, he listened carefully and showed us just the homes (only two) that he thought could work for us after carefully listening to our wants and asking lots of questions. Billy was able to guide us to the house (a two acre property in Huelo) that had exactly what we were looking for, with the quiet, the acreage and the feel that we sought. That transaction had some moments of trepidation when we and the owners could not agree on important details and we were afraid of the deal falling through, but Billy was steady and encouraging and we were able to come to a good agreement that suited both parties. When it came time for us to sell the house it was clear to us whom we wanted to represent us, and again Billy listened to our concerns, gave practical suggestions on pricing and marketing, indicated realistic expectations on how homes were selling in the slow housing market, and offered his understanding and empathy. He listened to our needs and he offered strategies based on these, then did all he could to assure that the house was noticed by buyers. As we said, our house sold in a timely fashion and we were able to move on to where we were going. The few points of contention in the deal were smoothed over by Billy's handling of phone calls and emails (always done promptly and professionally) with the buyer's realtor, the title company, a real estate lawyer, inspectors and more. We unhesitatingly recommend the Maui Real Estate Team when buying or selling a home on Maui. Sincerely, Anudeva (Roger) Stevens and Hanna Hammerli

Maui's Koogle (Kim Google!) We were looking online for a…read morehouse in Maui and came across Kim listed on real estate sites, with very good reviews of her services and good sales. So we decided to contact her via email and use her professional knowledge in our hunt. Kim was absolutely fantastic. We were so lucky we chose her. Not only does she have a wide breadth of knowledge about Maui geography, beaches, weather, winds, housing and all the other things you need to consider when buying a property, she could also recommend someone for everything you might need. Our building inspector, contractor, property manager, etc, all came from Kim, plus she can help you out with doctors, dentists, hairdressers, you name it she has it covered. You don't need Google, just use Koogle! We looked at a number of stunning properties over 3 days with Kim. She was very intuitive in finding exactly what we wanted. Once we found the Maui house of our dreams Kim immediately went into action and guided us through the process of purchasing a property on Maui, despite having to work with the seller's less than professional realtor, tenants in situ, my continuous emails and my husband's nit picking of the contract (he does this for a living). Kim was professional, friendly and our advocate throughout. Kim's husband sent online documents for signature which made the documentation a breeze, plus Rorie kept us updated with a timeline. They made a great team with Kim at the helm. Kim definitely went the extra mile for us, attending the final walk through with the building inspector to make sure repairs had been carried out by the seller as per our contract. She even personally measured the kitchen for me to see if our kitchen island would fit, and counted the interior stairs so I knew how many non-slip doggy carpet pads I would need! Her attention to detail and willingness to do anything for us (we are not resident in Maui yet so were buying from the Mainland) made everything so much easier. I honestly cannot do justice to Kim in a review. She gave 100% with a smile and a great sense of humour along with her professionalism. We will definitely be using Kim if we have any future property deals to undertake in Maui. I would definitely recommend you use her too. She is the crème de la crème of Maui realtors.

We had been bombarded by mailings from many realtors on Maui ever since we obtained ownership of my parents' home. We maintained ownership while living on the mainland for a number of years but the time came when we decided to sell the house on Maui. On various trips back to Maui we would meet with different realtors and we were most impressed with Kim from the get go. We became ready to sell! She knew the area and presented us with all her research on the market. She advised us as to what we needed to do to prep the property. And her advice saved us a great deal of time and money. We are happy to say that the house sold after about a week on the market and we got our asking price.
