Reserved an hour with Mike Mrugal, one of two golf pro instructors at this driving range. On the day of the lesson, I was running behind schedule and Mike was very accommodating to adjust his schedule, so I could get the full 60 minutes of instruction time. He was knowledgeable, patient, and attentive to my feedback. Provided some very simple and actionable tips that I could do on and off the golf course. It helped reinforce the good movements of my swing and build muscle memory. I definitely plan on going back to Mike after the season is over for some more tips to work on during the winter at the driving range. As for the location, it's a two-level driving range with different size of range ball buckets you can purchase (inside) for the ball machine (outside) reads the QR code on the receipt. The shop has the basics, in the event you forgot to bring something with you to the range. The lessons are taught in an enclosed shack that has a hitting mat and tv monitor for the instructor to provide instant feedback on your swing...nothing high-tech, but it is sufficient to visualize & communicate what you are doing right or wrong. Definitely I'll be visiting this place more often!!

They aren't a Top Tracer range, so no tracking, but if you aren't trying to get your stock yardages, that isn't really necessary. You know whether you hit the ball well or not. If you're going for the mini golf, I would find a different range. They need to fix the greens on almost every hole! The practice putting/chipping greens is also in pretty rough condition!

I have, for years, wanted to take SCUBA classes. After kicking the idea around for a while I…read morestopped in at a few shops, some of which were clearly less-than-honest about the pricing. I asked a few friends, young and old, about their opinions, and the only shop to get high recommendations was Cedar Grove Divers Supply. So I stopped in the shop to talk. Let me be clear, scuba diving is not cheap. But it doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg. CGDS was up front about the cost, which was reasonable. Some places say they are cheaper, but then add "pool fees" and "certification fees." CGDS has awesome supplies in stock, and let me try out items before making the decision on what to buy. They include so much in their course, which doesn't begin to explain the experience of the instructor. The primary instructor, Doug, has been diving for longer that I have been alive. The wealth of knowledge provided during class, during open water dives, and during general discussion is unparalleled. Classes and certification dive days felt more like talking to friends than taking a class. I can't say enough about this family owned operation, and would recommend it to anyone. In fact, some of my own family members will be signing up soon. I will be back for more advanced training in the future!

First time doing that and I realized how much I love playing, how you can get a good sweat on and how much I like being in nature. I actually realized out on a course my current off the rack clubs probably weren't the right ones for me. That brought me to finding Tim Mosel on Yelp of course. Denville is a ride from where I live at The Shore but SOOOOOO GLAD I made the trip. Tim is a MASTER at his craft. A 'scientist' if you will. He has a laptop and will have you hit different clubs into a net while some type of golf laser gives him MULTIPLE numbers from launch angle, topspin, club head speed etc. He then mathematically knows what to build FOR YOU according to those numbers. I had a 'full set' built (and will update when I pick up and play a few rounds with them) but he also doesn't force/push you into additional clubs for his financial gain. He actually recommended that I don't necessarily NEED fairway woods (theres normally 3 of those) and I can always add them if I felt I needed them. Also he's VERY personable and a joy to chat with. And his prices aren't as high as I was expecting so I was VERY happy with my total! GO THERE even if you are a hack golfer like myself.
