This is a review of the touch free auto wash. The touch free auto wash is useless. We were here around 9pm on 6/11/17. When they fix this problem, I will revise this review. This is a relatively good place to come for a fill-up or convenience items. Spacious and you never feel claustrophobic.
After our weirdly "alien-scanning" touch-free wash that reminded us of an MRI or TSA experience, the machine dropped a very light quantity of water, then soap, then water, then dried. The vehicle had had smog residue, a few light dirt smudges and bird crap--that's it. Well, plus brake dust on the wheels. We weren't off-roading. The sedan just had body work done and I'm not in a hurry to vigorously wash the paint. Afterwards, car still had smudge marks and bird crap on it, and the wheels were not touched at all, though we paid extra for the wheel wash.
Now, for background: we had just returned from out of town on a Sunday night and Ms. G's car was on E. The idea was to swing around the corner for 15 minutes, fill up the tank and knock the dirt off the car. Wound up being a 45-minute odyssey. Having just vacuumed the car, I was shirtless and shoeless that particular evening at BP and Ms. G was, though wearing a top, braless. Guess who got sent inside to bitch?
Wonder Woman stormed in, twirled her golden lasso, and "persuaded" (arm-twisted) the manager to reluctantly issue a credit. Braless (erm--"lasso") or no--it took some doing. Only when it was clear we paid by credit card did he realize they had no choice. (Or he was transfixed.) We re-washed the car properly using "light touch." The static we received getting a refund was the worst of it. Manager kept complaining that the poor wash was not his "fault" (which is true--he didn't personally install it--but not our problem, or even his) but blamed us for using "touchless" as if (1) their machine was ours and not theirs, and (2) somehow we should have known better. If other people have complained before--and I can't imagine no one has before us--there should at least be a sign in magic marker telling people not to use "touchless." read more
