Unfortunately, I can only give this Murphy Express one star because the gas pumps pumped very…read moreslowly and kept prematurely shutting off. So, not only did I spend more time than usual trying to fill up, but I didn't even leave with a full tank because the pump kept shutting off. I had to try and guess when my tank was close to full. I also had to be careful not to overfill it (because overfilling/topping off is damaging to cars). I used pump #8. I heard the guy that was using the pump on the other side of me (behind pump #8) and the guy who pulled up behind me both complain that their pumps were slow too. Something was wrong. I chose to fill up here because it's conveniently located just off I-85 at exit 124 (South Elm-Eugene Street), on the south side of the Greensboro Urban Loop. A lot of Murphy Express locations are close to Walmart Supercenters. There's a Walmart just on the other side of the interstate from this location. Murphy Express is part of the larger "Murphy USA" chain. Most Murphy USA gas stations are located adjacent to Walmart stores. "Murphy Express" locations are bigger and more like traditional gas stations and convenience stores. This location has 24 pumps, so it's sizable. During our visit on an ordinary Sunday around noon, this place was busy. I was lucky to find an open pump right away. Some people had to wait. Maybe there were a lot of cars because the pumps were slow. The gas prices were OK. This is Murphy Express store #8553. Gas was $3.46 for regular, which definitely 10+ cent more than stations on other parts of town. I assume it's higher because it's right off a highway exit. I paid at the pump. I got $0.03 off as part of their fuel rewards program. By using the Upside app, I'll be getting $0.21 cent back per gallon! If you don't have the app already, you missing out!!! They have a Redbox movie station outside. There is a decent amount of parking on north sizes of the building. There are 10 pumps in total with 2 being gasoline. On the left side of the building they have an air station along with propane tanks. You could EASILY miss it. I'm not sure why they chose to put both in that area. Inside, the ATM had a sign on it stating that it had didn't have any money. They have a coffee station as well as a beverage station with slushies and foundation drinks 4 of the 8 slushie flavors were out of order. The fountain drinks are only $0.89.While standing in the middle of the store, I noticed an aroma that smelled pretty nice. It's hard to explain. It seemed like a males cologne. I was the only customer inside at the time. One staff was behind the register while another appeared to be restocking the coffee condiments. There weren't any hotdogs in the container. The breakfast food container was also empty. They have "fresh" bakery items in a container by the register. It was mostly full. There were different areas of the store that had low or out of stock. I ended up just getting a bag of chips. Check out was pretty smooth. The cashier was pretty quiet/reserved. It was $3.09 after tax. I've gotten the same type of chips at so many places and I've seen varying prices lol. Oh well.

They do, however (if you're a smoker) have great deals on purchasing 2-packs of cigarettes and even better with their Marlboro club discounts. Prices on other items are high as they are a Convenience store! Overall experience fair to ok just depending on who's working and what customers are in the store at the time. Not at all knowledgeable about Vape Products! Lost $14+ on cartridges to a Vape product that the clerk had zero knowledge about. Sold me the wrong cartridges and even the store manager herself refused to refund it or exchange my incorrect cartridges for the correct ones. Advice? Go to a Smoke/Vape products store. I've avoided leaving a review for this place but had time today…read more I usually frequent the location for gas and snacks, however, I've avoided going inside the store several times due to the customer service I've received on multiple occasions. Today I encountered someone with whom I've had less than pleasant interactions, with a name tag that I believe to have read Amadu. It was a quick stop after a long day for gas and I hadn't anticipated having to enter the store but was having an issue at the pump. I've greeted the cashiers each time I approach the register and more often than not been ignored by them. I've been spoken to in a less than pleasant manner and the validity of my I.D. Is always questioned when purchasing tobacco products. I'm aware that I may appear younger and hardly ever leave home without my license. I have no issues presenting proper identification. I don't even feel the convenience of the location from my home is worth the stop for gas or anything else solely based on the demeanor of the employees, which in my opinion is unfortunate. Overall, the staff doesn't appear to enjoy interacting with customers, answering questions or being employed here.

I stopped at the very first original Cook-Out location across the street which was busy until way after it closed. And then I moseyed down and got some gas. There are panhandlers here so look out. Even in the middle of the night when the weather is freezing. But that's okay.
