Any how it all starts when my New to me Vehicle starts Knocking I take it into Manley Motors for Service thier service technicians can't hear anything wrong with this motor. My Friend goes over on his lunch who is a mechanic at Boyers Chev and had already diagnosed the problem as lower end knock, and points this out all of sudden they can hear the noise but it insist it is a lifter causing the issue anyhow they decide they can't work on it this week due to getting a new hoist installed on the monday so for the weekend I take it home (does this sound like a lifter) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWI64EQ4amA&t=6s So I take it home for the weekend am told by John that Doug probably will not repair vehicle due to me not buying it from Manley Motors he makes 25.00 less / hour on warranty work when the vehicle is not purchased at Manley Motors (this was said in front of my mechanic friend) Anyhow Monday night comes around and I drop if off @ Manley Motors for the repair.. again they are insisting that the noise is comming from the valve train They replace all lifters on the left side (this takes 3 weeks) I was surpposed to be ready the previous thursday but according to John (service manager) they had to take it apart again because all the push rods had been installed wrong. I was like what kind of damage is this going to cause being the Hemi 5.7 is a interference engine. John said this would not hurt anything ok news to me especailly since they been running for at least a day.. anyhow finally the day comes I get a phone call at 10:00 am your vehicle is repaired no more noises .. great I leave the keys in it Ill pick it up after work and leave the rental vehicle .. They also had problems using their own cutting torch which added time to my bill. Very friendly when things are going their way, not so much when challenged on the bill. I suggest if you go there go only when they are busy and their mechanics might hustle a bit more. I realize the owner is running a business and has to make a profit but I felt over charged and was not given a reasonable explanation. I suggest in the future to the owner he concentrates on repeat business.
