If you don't fancy catching the train, then you have the option of getting on a coach. Birmingham…read moreCoach Station is just a five-minute walk from the City Centre and is easily accessible by car and public transport. I have been here whenever I have travelled to Leicester and London. The coaches are regularly on time and I have not had any issues with this place. If you are waiting for your coach, you can always grab a coffee at Starbucks or you can even go to WHS Smith to buy a newspaper/magazine or even some sweets. The one downer is the fact you have to pay to use the toilets. I just find that ridiculous. But there is a toilet on the coach if that is any consolation. From here you can get on coaches that will take you to cities across England, Scotland and Wales. National Express, Ulsterbus and Eurolines are the three operators that operate at this coach station. And I have also found it is a lot cheaper to travel by coach than train. It is not that expensive to travel by coach. The staff here are very friendly and they will answer any questions/queries you have. An excellent station in my view and one I will continue to visit.

Long opening hours, friendly staff, and the bus timetable booklets that they offer are very useful and come in handy. It is a bit of an odd location considering where most of the city centre buses stop. Either way, they have timetable leaflets and information for all bus and train routes in and out of the city. The counter staff are more than happy handle enquiries and to recommend the best value ticket options. I guess it is a general rule with renewing and buying all travel passes, but try to visit at off peak times to ensure you don't get stuck in a lengthy commuter queue.

All bus stop are well labelled, starting from "A" and going down the alphabet. There are also electronic billboards beside the bus stops, so easy to figure out which buses are going to be coming. I did think some of the street sign directions inside the bus depot was a bit confusing however it's a nice spacious hall with benches, and basic amenities, so a decent spot for folks to wait for their bus, if needed. Am glad got to experience this bus stop! Yelp 16/ 2019
Probably the most regular and direct bus service from the city centre out to Sutton Coldfield is…read morethe 904 which heads down the Expressway, through Erdington and then down the Birmingham Road into Sutton. From there it winds its way up past Good Hope Hospital before terminating in the middle of the Falcon Lodge estate. One great thing that the bus operator did was to get the 904 and other like-minded services to run over the Aston Expressway after 7pm. In the past, after this time (and all day on Sundays) the 904 would become the 104 and for some reason avoid the Expressway, running instead down Lichfield Road, thus adding around 10 minutes to the journey. The odd service I could understand, but all day on Sunday? Anyway, that's been cleared up now and this is the bus to get to get to Sutton. Early morning it's full of commuters, during the day it's full of an improbable number of teenagers heading for Sutton College, by evening its full of commuters again whilst the night-time services mop up shift workers and drunks. Happy days.

It rather dominates the landscape around Millennium Point and whilst it was a functioning station up until the 1960s, it has remained pretty much vacant in recent years. Thankfully unlike other buildings in the area - including a couple of old pubs - it looks in pretty good repair and is still currently owned by the Council. It's possible that with the advent of High Speed 2 that the station may be restored or incorporated in much the same, sympathetic way as Moor Street (which is just down the road). Either way this is a nice building to admire - perhaps as you navigate the (infinitely less attractive looking) road system nearby.
