We hymned and hummed but quickly came to the conclusion that our family for the first time would golf. We walked into the club house and were immediately greeted with open arms by the staff. My partner, Karen, and our children waited in the car as daddy got everyone clubs and carts. Daddy even snuck a few beers in the bag without Karen knowing. That was my only victory that day. We began to golf. It was a long 9 holes but Sally, my daughter, was surprisingly good. Even the players behind us were cheering her on. I think the gentleman's name was Brennan. He was a member which surprised me because every time I looked back he was shooting his ball out of the rough and tall grass areas. Anyways, It was a joyous experience and my family now loves golf. We had a blast. Thank you Meadow Lands for being part of a great memory.

They were gas powered and one was even slower than the other. They had NO ice chests or golf ball washers. When we finished and returned the carts, we noticed that many of the carts were much better. We complained to the staff in the pro shop who offered us a raincheck, but we flew to be there and won't come back. They offered to have their pro Chris Cooke call or email us and he never did, no surprise. Great views, but I wouldn't go there again. Kananaskis, about 35 minutes away was a far superior experience.

The clubhouse is a nice setting, the washrooms were upscale and clean. Heading out on the course the signage was relatively clear even for first time players of the course. There is a canteen and starter hut at the clubhouse as well as a canteen midway through the front and back 9. The staff were all friendly, and we didn't find them the least bit pretentious. (There are also many weddings and receptions held here) Bring your camera to this course and play when they are less busy, as once you make your way up the mountain side, the views are spectacular. Playing twilight with the sun setting behind the mountains made the scene even more incredible. There are sme nice designed features that make the course more beautiful again. The tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in rather good shape for the time of year. The cart paths are crazy winding and often steep. The electric carts have no trouble making the round, but you need to drive cautiously. There were plenty of animals along the course that added to the setting, For a not very skilled female golfer, I enjoyed how forgiving the fairways are. The hills funnel my bad shots back into the fairway. The fairways were wide enough and the tree lines cleared well enough, that I only recall losing one ball all round. This may not be a great course for a highly skilled strategic golfer do to the hills and funnel effect, but it was a fun course and I would love to go back again!

It was a nice change from my burger and pizza diet. This salad was well prepared and had a sprinkle of double smoked bacon on top. The 'not so classic' dressing as stated on their menu was excellent, just a little creamy and boldly had that solid Caesar taste. This was a much better salad than average. Our relaxing lunch was well-served by the staff, including taking the time to chat with us and using our phone to take a group photo. We learned the G-7 Summit leaders, who were in Kananaskis a couple of weeks prior, had all dined at The Summit.

As our first golfing destination since moving to Edmonton in the fall, my husband and I decided to…read moreplay at WolfCreek. We played the old course which I have to say, didn't impress us, visually or by its design. We walked the first 9 and it was a relatively easy walk which was nice. The cart path guard rails could be more rickshaw friendly. The signage was quite lacking and often left us trying to figure out which way to go next. One sign telling walkers to head straight - into the woods - with no visible path or markers as to where the next hole was, was the biggest puzzle. Once we walked around the cart path and could see where the next hole was, it made more sense. There are no indications on the score card of how the course or holes are laid out. For the back 9, we did take a cart and bought their guide book. I would call the guide book a must for this course, though I have certainly seen batter books with more details and measurements included. It seams this course is far more favorable for repeat playing, and perhaps not the best option for visitors or travelers. One of the ponds were full of foam, there were many down trees and it looks like this course has been through some difficult weather. There was not much at all for interesting visual appeal. The man made ponds were square with no rock boarders. rather dull in my opinion. We did stop in at their lounge for a flat bread pizza, which took well over 25 minutes, the chicken was a bit dry and a third of the crust was burnt black. The log cabin clubhouse is quite nice. The entrance to the washrooms is extremely dark, making you feel your way around for the door, when you come in out of the sun. The women's washroom has had a flickering light that mimics a dim strobe light. The stall doors have very large separations and could use a fix-up. I've seem worse however I have seen much better at a "golf resort". We went back this past weekend and played the links course down the road. We had a much more enjoyable time with the guide book and map in hand. The signage and sight lines were also better on this course. There is some distance between some of the holes, but it is not too bad for hills and we would likely walk it next time. On a weekday afternoon, there were not many people heading out. We were able to play at a comfortable pace with out being held up and finished in under 4 hours. We did have a fun round. We have PrivPlay cards which provide a discount on the round and cart at listed locations (the links course), but we were denied the cart discount. We weren't going to bother making it an issue. In general, the staff were friendly. It was not too hot either round, being late May and June 2nd. There were some nicely treed areas and shelters that would offer good shade in the summer, on either course. I won't judge the fairways, tee boxes, and greens too harshly as it is early in the season still. The greens were not fast either round we've played, but there are some interesting curves and break to account for. In all, we will likely return and give the old course a second try and replay the links course. We are not likely to order food. For those with an iPhone or Android device, there is a free GPS app available, For those business people with a Blackberry, you're SOL.

Our cart was covered in dust and dirt, the range balls are old and muddy and are not included in the fee, and the snack shacks are not open! We enjoyed our round immensely as it seemed like we were the only ones out on the course. At the turn, the snack shack was open even though there were only a few people on the course. I was most thankful for this as they offered some hot beverages! We got hot cocoa with Baileys which definitely helped to warm up my hands, tummy and spirits. We look forward to when we can play again under sunny skies. We also enjoyed dinner too in the clubhouse. Because they were setting up for a special event in the main dining room, Melody sat us in the Members Lounge which was very nice as it afforded views of the golf course and mountain. Melody was very welcoming and gracious. Maddy took very good care of us ... running back and forth asking our questions of the kitchen and getting us refills on our drinks. Both ladies were fantastic and made a wet, gray day brighter. We will definitely be back at some point in the future.
