I went before n and he link and didn't know what I was going to see. I clicked in n the link. The foster had sexual content on her page like pictures of her body very sexually proactive. I should not be seeing that and the attitude I got back when I sent a text that this person is a foster and we don't micromanage their accounts. I did not get an apology for being exposed to the content. The organization takes no responsibility and passes it off like it is not be deal. I might lose my chances of adopting there but their attitude needs more professionalism.

The emailed me back shortly after saying they can't receive emails from Hotmail..... but they managed to see it after I said something. They gave me less than 24 hours notice to drive 2 hours away to meet this dog at a store, knowing that Ontario was getting the biggest snow storm heading our way that weekend. I replied back asking for a different day, if possible and still to this day, I have to this day not heard back and they are still posting that dog I was looking to home.

I had assumed the charge included access to the cat room, but there's an additional fee on top. The service also wasn't particularly warm or welcoming. That said, the cats seem well cared for, and the space is clean and comfortable for them -- and at the end of the day, that's what matters most.

This is a centrally-located cafe that is perfect for before the theatre (or, at any time of day,…read moreactually). There's a front room that is the cafe, and then you can pay $4.50/30 minutes, to go into the side room and hang out with the cats. In the front room, there are 4 tables (one had a laptop playing music, so some people had to stand or sit at a counter). It's decorated cleanly, in white, with super cute cat things (of course!). The coffee is available in medium or dark roast, in a pump pot. This is why I downgraded one star: not interested in that. We actually got tea, and they use Pluck Tea from Toronto, which is an incredibly ethical brand. SO: Good. There's also food (good prices!), and cookies (we got one: so delicious). The business works to support cat rescue, and the windows are filled with donations for cats in need. I love this! While we were in town, that cat room was ALWAYS busy, so I'm really happy that this business is doing so much to promote cat rescue, and I am happy to support them. :)

There are a lot of dog rescues in the GTA. Some better than others. We did a lot of research before…read morechoosing Pound Dog Rescue, our favourite by far. As noted by one of the negative reviews, YES, Pound dog has a very intensive application process. They recognize that a dog adoption is a VERY big decision, and want to make sure any potential adopter is properly vetted. Pound Dog places pets in the RIGHT homes, not just any home, which may upset some. If that's the case, you can find tons of high volume rescues that don't spend the time Pound Dog fosters spend with their dogs. And for that reason, Pound Dog returns are so infrequent you can count them on your hands. We love Pound Dog, and will continue to support them.

Unfortunately, our experience fostering Mochi through Pound Dog Rescue was upsetting enough that I feel it needs to be shared. We opened our home to Mochi and quickly fell in love with her. She became particularly attached to my boyfriend, and they developed a genuine bond. We made it very clear that we wanted to adopt her. What upset us most was the lack of communication, transparency and compassion. One evening, without any warning or prior conversation, representatives arrived at our home and removed Mochi and her crate. My children weren't even given the opportunity to properly say goodbye. Since that night, Pound Dog Rescue has never responded to me once, despite multiple messages, including simply asking how Mochi was doing. I will acknowledge the one mistake I made as a foster. Mochi had two collars on, and I removed one temporarily for her comfort and to brush her because it was staining her fur. I simply forgot to put that second collar back on. If that, or anything else, was a concern, it should have been communicated to me and I would have corrected it immediately. There was never any conversation or opportunity to address a concern before she was removed. We fully understood that Mochi remained in the rescue's care and that ultimately they had the right to make decisions for her. My issue is how those decisions were handled. My boyfriend submitted an adoption application and was told his veterinary reference would be contacted. To our knowledge, that call was never made. Based on how everything unfolded, we were left with the strong impression that they had never intended to seriously consider us for adopting Mochi in the first place and simply led us on. Had they been upfront with us from the beginning, it would have hurt, but we would have respected the honesty. I am currently fostering with another rescue organization and everything has been going wonderfully. Communication has been open, respectful and transparent. This experience hasn't changed my belief in fostering -- it has shown me just how important the relationship between a rescue and its foster families is. Foster families give their homes, time and inevitably their hearts to these animals. If there's a concern, communicate it and give the foster an opportunity to correct it. Having Mochi abruptly taken from our home without warning, followed by complete silence and feeling misled about the possibility of adopting her, was heartbreaking for our family. Foster families deserve honesty, communication, transparency and basic respect.
