My dog likes to look fresh…read more Haha, not really. If it were up to her she'd let herself resemble Pigpen, would roll around in dirt and feces, and would generally look like she'd just been through a forage in the forest. However, as an apartment dog...this is not acceptable. She is a shorthaired lady, so she doesn't need the particular cut, but every few months she does need a deep down brushing, scrub and nail trim (something about trimming another beings nails terrifies me)...and thus we search for her spa. Easier said than done in East London! But I finally found Groom Dog City and I am quite pleased with the output. It's in a little shop near Haggerston/Columbia Market, they took my appointment quickly, the staff was very nice (both the owner and the assistant), and 45 minutes later I returned and was gifted back a dog that looked to be much cleaner and about 4 bales of hair lighter. Win. Reasonably priced too! For the works on my type of dog (again, no cutting/trimming required) for bath, eyes, ears, nails, brushdown -- about £25. I also left a tip because I have to believe this is thankless work giving spa treatments to animals who do not wish to be pampered. If they only knew! They even returned her to me with a little bow. I'll be visiting again next time she starts to resemble a vagabond... *appointments easily made online (he called me back right away). *there are a few shop dogs, word to the wise. I mentioned my dog wasn't so nice with other dogs she doesn't know, and they easily blocked them off. I'm sure my dog was still a nervous wreck, but there is a price to beauty and to coexisting with humans, Tillie.

Nina and Chris are such a lovely, friendly couple who instantly put both you and your pets at ease when you meet them. They really know their stuff and handled my British Blue, Millie (who can be quite the madame!) with total calm and confidence. Everything is provided by them, from their professional setup to all the grooming essentials, so there's no need to worry about bringing towels or supplies. What I love most is how calm and organised they are; they turn what's usually a stressful experience for both owner and cat into something completely relaxed. Millie looked gorgeous afterwards and was surprisingly serene! I now have two of the best groomed cats in East London (I believe!) I'm booking again for next May and genuinely look forward to seeing them again! It's rare to find people who combine such professionalism, warmth, and genuine care for the animals they work with. See you in May guys!

She always takes care of them when we are away for the weekend or on holiday. I think they love when she visits. It's lovely for us to be able to go away and know our cats are being played with, as well as fed and checked on regularly. Nina is very trustworthy. She takes great care of our keys and we know when we are away, our home, pets and plants are in safe hands. I highly recommend 'Hare of the Cat' and Nina as your groomer or pet-sitter if you are a Camberwell & surrounds resident. Karen Schorn

Great to stumble upon Molly & George on Yelp!…read more I was doing a search to find a new groomer for our posh pensioner Tillie. She was in bad need of a manicure and bath, and I was just sort of over the vibe at my previous groomer (Groom Dog City). After reading the bio on M&G's Yelp page I figured it would be good choice and a nice walk up to London Fields on a weekend morning. I easily made an appointment via email. I brought her in on Sunday at 10am, she got the requisite bath and brushing and nail trim and I picked her up about 45 minutes later (even snuck in a tasty breakfast nearby at Bouchon Fourchette)!. For the low price of 20 quid! A great deal in my opinion. It's a location under a railway arch near London Fields, just behind Hackney Road. The space is fresh and bright. Super simple, she looked great when done, the woman was friendly and we were on our way to enjoy a nice walk in London Fields. Can't beat that. It gives me a great excuse to visit one of my favorite areas of London as well. 2 paws up for Molly & George - we'll be back.

DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR LONG HAIRED DOG!…read more I brought my baby Chow Chow in, showed a picture of my dog and asked for her hair to be cut SHORTER, with a full groom service, which to my understanding would be: wash, blowout, ear cleaning, nails clipping, etc. Came back in 2 hours with my chow SHAVED down. The groomer told me that I ASKED for this. Either in her 21 years of experience, which she kept repeating to us, she has never groomed a chow chow, or she doesn't knows the difference between cutting and shaving a dog. With NO APOLOGY from the groomer, I paid £90 to the awful job, left and came home with tears. This could have been a miscommunication, since the groomer was adamant that "you asked for this". Me and my husband are dog owners since we were children, we have groomed our baby chow chow in London and in Dubai for years, and never once have I left a groomer with such bad feeling.

I think the idea of kennels is fine for dogs, but cats are more lone wolf than the actual ancestor of the wolf... so this was the perfect solution. The first time we booked with them Louise the founder came round to meet us and the cats, answer any questions we had, and allay any fears. You then choose the number of visits and what sort of time (morning/evening) you have your pet 'sat', or dog walked, fed etc. They spend a good amount of time with your pet, playing with it, feeding it, making sure there are no problems. They even water your plants and leave a little diary so you know how your cat/dog/a.n.other has been while you've been away. We even came home to a pint of milk. I honestly can't praise this company enough, I really can't. Absolutely trustworthy and worth every single penny!!!

We were concerned about the house security (we had just been burgled!) and worried that Lucy our cat would be really lonely and not want to leave the house as mostly likes to go in the garden when we are around. How impressed we were upon our return. Far from being upset and hiding in the house, Lucy wasn't even home! It was 1am but we had to wait over an hour before she came trotting home from her jaunts! She was overjoyed to see us but she was as plump as ever (unlike her return from the cattery) and showed no signs of stress. The notes left by the visitors were detailed and reassuring and showed the level of care that we had hoped for. It also showed the security measures that had been taken on the house. And, the pint of fresh milk in the fridge was a wonderful touch!! Thank you
