I hate shopping for clothes.
why?
because I have Park Avenue taste with a Chinatown budget.
So when my aunt took me here, the salesman looked me up and down - and started grabbing stuff for me to try. We started with coats. moved on to jackets, then blouses, sweaters and dresses. They also have skirts and pants - but I didn't try those.
He was good. Too good. I left with 5 pieces to take home and try with other things... and had to reluctantly part with 2 items. I think the clothes are all made in Italy - very well made... with prices to match.
Right now, it's January, and they're having a killer sale - that's the only reason I was able to even walk into the store, and deign make a purchase. There's this other jacket that I fell in love with and decided that if at the end of the month, I still have some extra scratch & the jacket is still there, I'll get it. If not, It wasn't meant to be.
In the meantime, I'm gonna love my new black wool coat, the charcoal jacket, and the sweater/dress.
And I was really surprised that I would find anything that would suit me - I always had the impression that Balma was a store for older women - but I was wrong - there's lots of great stuff for us younger ones. read more
