Decent place for lunch in downtown Rio. Stumbled across it while exploring a nearby church. Was…read morequite packed when we walked in. Got roasted chicken, rice and beans along with spicy shrimp ceviche and caprese salad. Chicken was kind of stale but the beans were good. Ceviche and salad were alright, small portion. Drinks were good. Overall Aok experience.

This place had potential but it was a little sloppy with a few things. First, the setting is…read moremodern, packed tight but good use of space with a open feeling on the second floor with lots of light. The menu is straight forward; only a couple entrees with a collection of sauces and side dishes. They also offer 3 burgers (classic- beef, chicken, or pork). We tried all three. They were average in taste, nothing terribly special about them. The chicken burger is not a chicken fillet, but a chicken sausage put into a patty. The variety of toppings (caramelized onions, melted cheese, lettuce, tomato) all added to a good flavor but made the bun slip off and make it difficult to hold together. The bread was possibly the best tasting, crusted with sesame seeds. The fresh juice, tasted like it was considerably watered down. The beer we ordered was not available and replaced by a more expensive beer. The worst part, and possibly not the fault of our waiter (order was added electronically) was the amount of time our burgers took to come. All ordered at the same time, for the same table; all came 15 minutes or more between each. The first was the chicken. Maybe it was sitting on the counter and accidentally ordered for someone else or was sent back, but it came quickly and hot. The classic burger took a while longer and maybe it was also the order of fries. I was nearly half done with my meal before my friends burger came out. And lastly we were waiting for the pork burger which we had to ask the waiter to check on. I was done with my meal before the last burger came. It shouldn't take half an hour to get a burger at 2pm after lunch rush hour.

Heard a lot about this place and the burgers were quite tasty. There's only three choices: regular,…read moremixed with bacon and a double patty, which makes the menu simple. They have a selection of Brooklyn beers which is nice if you're tired of Heineken. The fries were pretty crispy which was a nice since it can be harder to find. Their custom BBQ sauce was pretty good and that's probably what makes this burger special. The spicy sauce had a kick to it but not spicy enough for hot sauce lovers. This place is tiny! One big table inside, a few patio tables outside and the smallest of awnings if it rains. There were about 3 ladies who were busing the tables, they did not assist anyone is setting up a table or grabbing chairs and instead kept folding them away the closer it crept to 11pm, their closing time. They were already putting up the roll down doors over the place as they took the last order of the night. No need to stay open a little later since business is good even in the rain. Ps. officina del gelato is opening right next store!

So we decided to try this burger place this past weekend. It was a cloudy Saturday evening (around…read more6:30pm) so it wasn't busy. we actually missed the crowd (which was good, cause we got to get a table inside for the 7 of us. If you plan to go with a big group, there is seating outside (just hope for good weather). Inside, there are only seats for 10 people max (and its tight). so the burger: like Beco do Hamburger, they have two types of burgers: Hells Burger (made of beef rib meat patty) and Fifty-Fifty (half beef rib and half smoked bacon patty). I had the Fifty-Fifty and it was good. Had a bacon crust and a good serving, with melted cheese on top. if you are a fan of lettuce, tomato, pickles and onions and other garnish on your burger, this isn't the place for you. their burgers are simple and straight forward. They have two types of sauces ( Voodoo Barbecue and So Hot Its stupid), we didn't really see a big difference between the two sauces, and their Hot sauce, isn't really spicy (according to my spicy food addict friends). Their fries are traditional simple fries (on the thicker end, not skinny ones like McDonalds) but good. They had a special 2 for 1 beer special for the Brooklyn Stouts. Overall it was a good experience. If I am in the area and craving a burger, I'd probably stop by. But, is it a top favorite? I'd say I prefer the Beco do Hamburger ones better. But, go to Hells and give them a try!
