Dirty dishes everywhere, place had 3 customers inside, saw us standing waiting to be seated and never said anything while the server sat in a booth on a laptop. This place doesn't care about customers.

The word bourbon caught my attention so we had to give it a try. The selection was good along with the sauce selection is good . The meat came out tender with a good smoke taste to the point sauce was not needed. Our meals came out quickly and temp could've been warmer this tells me it was made in a large batch but overall very good portion size more the adequate for the price worth a return visit

This review in one word: amazing. We got the big platter with ribs, chicken, pulled pork and brisket. Platter comes with a pound of fries and 2 large sides. Fries are good and crispy, tots also. Pork was delicious. Brisket and chicken delicious. Ribs DELICIOUS! The beans are very oniony and savory and the mac n cheese is very rich and creamy. I ended up mixing meats sauce tots and mac for the ultimate comfort meal. Your choice of five house sauces touching all the bbq bases from vinegar to extra sweet. My new go to for bbq, no doubt.

Half slab, baked beans, and corn bread. Needed an extra to take home. It's so good.

Great bbq. My 2nd visit and can't wait to come back and try more. Several sauces to choose from and they're all delicious.

Full container weight

Take out order on a Sunday night ... order a lb of brisket ($29.98) to go. Get home, it was cold and it was 12.2 ounces including the container, pickles and pickeled onions. I would have been ok if they told me they were out. I love bbq but wont be back. No this was not first time there, other times have not been great, but tolerable ... guess i will be making the trek to lemont or romeoville for my bbq.

Brisket just didn't taste well, coleslaw too creamy. Not my cup of tea-won't be back. Not sure how all the high ratings got in here

Everyone we worked with was so kind and professional. They were able to accommodate different dietary restrictions which was so nice especially considering the groom's family was vegetarian. Without asking, they made sure to make one of our prosciutto pizzas without prosciutto to provide to the groom's family table. The set-up and tear-down was so seamless on the day of our wedding. Thanks for helping give us the wedding of our dreams! If we had one piece of feedback, it's that the menu wasn't completely accurate regarding which items were vegetarian. For example, the harvest salad was listed as vegetarian, but when we asked about it at our tasting, the nuts in the salad are cooked in beef tallow. It was very easy to order the salad without nuts, but we're glad we asked, otherwise we wouldn't have known. And the ooey-gooey butter cake is not listed as a vegetarian item on the menu, but when we asked to confirm, we were told it was vegetarian. This ended up being very minor in the scheme of things, but just think updating the labeling would make things clearer. Overall, everything worked out perfectly on the day and we're so glad to have worked with them!

It truly breaks my heart to have to write this review, but the unprofessionalism and lack of…read morecommunication we have experienced with Wooden Paddle has been nothing short of atrocious. We used to absolutely love this company. From the restaurant and open communication to the food tasting and overall experience, everything was wonderful leading up to our wedding day. Unfortunately, that experience was not reflected day of. We are extremely disappointed with how things unfolded at our wedding on October 17. Quite frankly, the only part of the day that went as expected was cocktail hour. Beyond that, we experienced SO many issues that left us feeling frustrated, disappointed, and honestly heartbroken. What makes this entire situation even more upsetting is the complete lack of communication and effort to resolve the issues we experienced. We have been trying to get in touch with someone at Wooden Paddle for the past two weeks and have received nothing back. The lack of response has been incredibly underwhelming, essentially nonexistent, and, quite frankly, extremely unprofessional. We understand that things can go wrong, but how a company handles those mistakes and communicates with its customers afterward speaks volumes. We expected accountability, acknowledgment, and a willingness to address our concerns, but instead, we have been left feeling ignored and completely disappointed. After trusting this company with such an important day in our lives, we never imagined we would be left feeling this way. We believe these issues deserve to be addressed, and we want to share the specific things that went wrong: Pizza Quality: Burnt, undercooked and both on singular pies. Many pizzas were inedible and were not touched. Delivery Timing: 1. Time between pizza deliveries were VERY VERY long. 2. Some tables were on pizza 3 before others even had gotten to 2. 3. We are unsure as to whether all 4 pizzas got served. Some guests have stated that they had never recieved all options. Coffee & Tea Add-on Station: Not set up until I had to ask a member of staff to set it up. A service we paid EXTRA for. Dietary Pizzas: 3/5 Dietary pizzas were incorrect. We were told that they never recieved the orders; however, orders were confirmed via email with Brianna DAYS before event. Table Clearing: New, full drinks were being cleared away and guests were becoming frustrated with constantly having to get new ones. Excuses: Staff told our day-of point person that the reason everything ran behind was because of "traffic". The Wooden Paddle team was there when we had arrived at 1P; which was EARLY compared to the 1:30/2P setup time we were initially informed of; by both a previous (no longer employeed) WP Catering Sales Manager and our Venue Coordinator. We are truly heartbroken that this was our experience with a company we once loved and trusted. We understand that things can go wrong, but the lack of communication and effort to make things right has made an already disappointing experience even worse. We hope Wooden Paddle takes our feedback seriously and understands how important it is to provide couples with the experience and service they deserve, especially on a day as important as their wedding.

I am forever THANKFUL. Their experience, organization, and just willingness to commit to making this day so special. From the start, we loved their food and knew immediately they were it. We even did an additional tasting to look at other options on their menu. Wedding day ... everything that could have happened to us ... happened (never returning to our venue ever). Luckily none of the guests found out because they were all distracted about the food. During contrail hour, the staff was nonstop bringing appetizers because people were taking thirds, fourths, etc. & I'm still hearing about it! Then dinner was exquisite. The portion of the food is very notable... GENEROUS and FILLING. Even my pickiest family members were asking for more. We had a lot of DIYs and they accommodated all of them. Even the ones I brought last minute. And the staff -- every single person -- was so kind, friendly, and just lovely to be around. The bartenders were absolute champs. They even went above and beyond to make us happy while our venue was being EXTRAORDINARILY difficult. Stephanie even came to help us de stress us & the bartenders were just phenomenal - trust me, our 170 guests do not mess around with an open bar. In conclusion, our venue.. never again. Marie's catering would choose all over again! Thank you again!! I don't have photos of our food at the moment, but wanted to share photos because it ended up being such a beautiful day

From the very beginning, we knew FFT was the right vendor for us because they took our favorite foods and crafted a completely customized menu perfectly tailored to what we enjoyed and what we envisioned for the event. From there, they then worked with us to refine the menu as we kept coming up with crazy ideas. We literally emailed Anna about how we had just tasted a delicious Oreo brownie and she had it added to our desserts right away. We also wanted a very custom bar menu, and they worked with us to get us all the different brands we were looking for, going so far as to drive to Indiana to source some of them. The other aspect of their menu that made such an impact was all the interactive food stations. Everything is so creatively presented and designed. At our tasting, Anna had literally taken elements of our décor and paper goods and other motifs and woven them throughout the presentations from custom serving trays to glass designs. Everything felt intentional and thought out. Guests were constantly praising this attention to detail. Every station had some element of action to it as well, making everything feel like a unique experience. In all of this, the food was all delicious. We wish we can eat and experience it all over again. We still dream of Chef Arlene's Guava and Cheese Empanadas. Throughout the process, Anna was extremely easy to work with and very responsive. One thing we wanted to highlight was that we wanted to be very careful with allergens. Despite the high number of dishes, Anna did a fantastic job working to highlight all the possible allergens in every item, taking the request very seriously. We also wanted to praise the service for the actual day-of catering. They had their full team there, and the professional service was fantastic from top to bottom. Our guests praised the food endlessly, and people who were planning their wedding wanted to know all the background details into our catering choice. That is just more proof that Food for Thought was the perfect caterer, and we couldn't have asked for anything more.

From the very beginning, Becky Steenstrup was fantastic to work with. She was responsive, attentive, and really took the time to understand what we were looking for. Over the months leading up to the wedding, Becky helped us work through the menu and guest list, provided thoughtful options, and made the entire process easy and stress-free. On the morning of the breakfast, Becky was there with her team making sure everything was beautifully set up and ready for our guests. The presentation was wonderful, the quantities were generous, and most importantly, the food was delicious! Our guests had so many positive things to say, and everyone enjoyed having a variety of options for our farewell breakfast. We are so grateful to Becky and the entire Food For Thought team for helping make our son's wedding weekend so special. It was a pleasure working with them, and we would highly recommend Food For Thought for any special event!
