I have always loved Soho, and the Boulevard Theatre is very Soho, its entranced tucked down an alleyway that used to be lined by peep shows ... to reach the theatre itself you walk up a flight of stairs and cross over to the other side of said alley.
For once I was happy for my friend to be late as I had a chance to explore the beautiful theatre bar. I am not usually a fan of bling and pink, but this place just made me smile, a tasteful update of the dark and dingy bars of yesteryear - nothing seedy going on here!
Quite the contrary, you walk up another flight of stairs to reach an intimate theatre, small but beautiful, to enjoy West End quality at fringe prices. I particularly like the idea of playing ticket roulette - you pay a set price and get allocated a seat anywhere in the theatre. read more
