I purchased the mini sandwich with chicken and it had tomatoes, olive oil, and lettuce and it was absolutely delicious on the freshest bread possible. The chicken had been roasted with French herbs and was absolutely delicious. This was a hearty sandwich to fill anybody up, and much bigger than the typical subway 6 incher. When I turned to the cashier to pay the ridiculously low price of two euros for the sandwich, I spied raspberry tartlets that cannot be passed up. Later in the day I enjoyed the tartlet and it may have been the best raspberry tart I have ever had. It was that good! For five euros, this was one of my better meals this week!

The manager who greeted me when I walked in was extremely nice and spoke English well enough to make me feel welcome and comfortable since I don't speak any French at all. They had some interesting, unique donuts too that my fiancée really enjoyed. Clean, new, modern feel to the place. Go give it a try. Great prices too: I got a wrap, a donut or cookie, and a soda or water combo for 5 Euro!

The soupe du marche change weekly. Ours was a hearty carrot lentil with a hint of ginger. The portion was ample and the soup served piping hot from a cauldron. On a lark we ordered a trio of "half" sandwiches. They were huge!! We were served a smoked salmon goat cheese sandwich, a duck confit with cornichon and a chicken salad sandwich on a bed of fresh greens with balsamic sauce and several slices of Parma ham. The duck confit was thinly applied, rich and bacony. I loved the flavor and the portion was perfect. The chicken salad had cubes of chicken breast in a light mayo sauce with veggies cut in. Very tasty. The salmon was generous in portion with a lovely appearance. Of course the star of the show was the sturdy brown bread that carried the ingredients. I tried other breads around town and have yet to be disappointed with any. The service was excellent and our waiter friendly and helpful in English. I truly enjoyed this rustic gem and plan to return again while in Avignon.

A café with decent food and options for to-go drinks…read more I came for an early lunch. Ordered a hot dog with crispy onions on top, which wasn't anything to write home about, but tasty enough. The Speculoos cheesecake was lacking in Speculoos taste, but it was rich and a satisfying dessert. The real star was the chai latte milkshake, which was perfect for a hot summer's day. Prices are a tad high, but otherwise solid for drinks to-go.
