This is my go-to liquor store and I am enjoying some Ketel One vodka from there right now as I write this review. They have a fantastic selection, including some specialty and less-known makers that I couldn't find in other liquor stores. I like the layout of the store, and that it is brightly lit, clean, and nice to shop in. The staff is welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful. They have an email list and sometimes hold special tasting and events, like when actors from Breaking Bad were here with their alcohol brand! There's a rewards program so you get points for every dollar you spend and can trade the points in. The parking lot is huge and free. I have never had trouble finding parking here. In the parking lot is also well lit, which I appreciate, since I have been approached by a panhandler in this parking lot. Very personable this newcomer to Delaware. First time in the store they showed me to every item I wanted and on my second visit Nick remembered b me and knew what I wanted. I found myself in Somerset and I needed to pick up some bottles for my Labor Day celebration. This store has everything. Liquor, Wine, Cigars, and Gourmet food. I was impressed with their Brunello selection. I found a 2016 Collosorbo, and a 2015 Poggio il Castellare. They have a selection of hard to find Gin's as well. I grabbed a bottle of Tenjaku Gin. Bottle Republic is a joke!, Alongside the rude cashiers. I recently decided to stop by Bottle King and was astonished by the price difference. Although the selection was terrible in comparison the items they had were way more reasonable. Despite both having below average staff. bottle king takes the slight edge as the prices are significantly better. I had read several reviews about how they favor their members for certain beers so naturally the first thing I did was sign up before I even started shopping. When I first approached the beer aisle I could not believe it. The selection is massive and incredibly organized. I instantly knew I was going to need a shopping cart. I hate when I realize I'm about to drop 5x more than I planned on beer. Oh well. My first stop was the refrigerator labeled "Seasonal". Coming out of the winter months there are still some stouts and porters available, but you can see the fridge's were giving way to IPA for the upcoming spring. I was quick to snatch up several 4&6 packs of beers I had not seen all season. Terrapin Smoke on the Porter? Yes please. Not only did they have quality national brands, but they carry some of NJ's finest. Carton AND Magnify?! I NEVER see these at any liquor store in my area. Pretty sweet find. Their bomber selection is actually a bit smaller than my normal spot. However, they definitely had some nice rare bottles. I was able to grab a Boulevard/Firestone Walker Collaboration 6 today. This beer sold out almost instantly at several location I tried to obtain one at. Somehow these guys were sitting on from what I saw at least 6 bottles on the shelf. Why minus a star? Very small loose beer selection. I spent a good bit more than I would have liked on beers I've never had before. I have no problem putting down good money on something I enjoy, but I'm a bit uncomfortable rolling the dice too much. The format I've become accustomed to (Some call it spoiled) is to purchase two of every new beer I'm interested in. Than I follow up later in the week on a return trip to stock the fridge with what I've enjoyed from the sample six packs. Their loose beer selection looks like it may just be of whatever got loose in transit. Possibly some last six packs of various beers being cleared out to make shelf space for the incoming stock. ...About the beer hiding thing...Yeah it's true. I was looking for a specific beer I saw on their Facebook. After asking an employee about it he went over to the fridge and removed 3 6-packs of beer and pulled the one I was looking for out from behind. I then asked how much it was and he refereed to a second price tag that was behind the price tag for the beer initially displayed. Quite the system. Honestly, I don't mind it. Maybe because it worked in my favor and I got a beer that otherwise may have sold out. If I was being limited and did not get the beer due to my status(or lack of) with them then I'm sure I would be livid. While I shopped for about 45 minutes I enjoyed some good beer talked with Anthony. He was very knowledgeable and I look forward to trying some of the beers I purchased on his recommendation. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Bottle Republic. I ordered an expensive bottle of liquor from them, taking a gamble on a shop I've never used before. The liquor comes from the distiller in a presentation box. Bottle Republic did an AMAZING job of packing the package safely, using/creating cut-to-fit cardboard. But they went a step further: They opened the presentation box and carefully and precisely cut cardboard and heavy craft paper to fit the voids to safely ship this liquor across the country. I have to believe the amount of are and caution they put into packaging this bottle had to seriously eat into their profit on it. I cannot thank them enough for the great care they took in handling the order of a first-time purchaser. I look forward to buying from them again in the future. read more

I asked the girl at register if i could purchase a Pick 3. She told me after this customer she would help me. I said OK. She took the customer and than she took the second customer, and than the third customer. I am standing there waiting for her to ring up my Pick 3. After the third customer I told her wait a minute I am also a customer. Do I have to wait until you ring up everyone. The line kept coming. She should be trained to finish one transaction at a time. Than she told a guy to ring up my Pick 3 and he could not fiqure it out. Why did he get up there? Can't young people ride a bike and chew gum at the same time. Just plain rude. read more

DO NOT go here if you want any sort of liquor. The price gouging (multiples over standard MSRP) is horrendous. There are a dozen places nearby with the same or better selections, and much better pricing (Super Saver, Buy Rite, etc.) It's a shame they get any sort of allocation of high end whiskey when the owner plainly told me he's happy to price them sky high, because even if they never sell, he'll have them to show off in his case. If you're going for beer, it's a pretty good spot, even if they do have some questionable pricing and limits on the more rare beer releases as well. As a whole, not even worth the trip for me. it's an ok local place and have a lot of options, I would rate them higher but they run out of certain beers often ( I get you have to pay these vendors every month and you don't want dead inventory on hand - but you shouldn't run out of the most popular brands.... ) The other thing is this parking lot, just wow... it's actually quite dangerous. People going onto Easton directly can't see the traffic due to a huge retaining wall and they inch out onto the main highway - horrific accidents just waiting to happen. And if you try to go out on Cedar Grove and want to make a left, yeah well good luck with that. They really should have the landlord do something about it, but they probably won't. read more
