We got our marriage certificate and got married here. The process were quick and the staff are nice. The interior really shows how old the building is so we want our pictures taken outside. They turn out beautifully.

After the delayed opening of the Winter Wonderland due to ice issues for their outside skating rink I finally got the chance before heading over to Back Bay to check out this lil village. Despite some people thinking that this set up is a waste of money and space, I was surprised to see a large crowd waiting for the wonderland to open up. This is a great place for families and couples. You can skate, sample food and shop. This isn't a huge venue. It is the maiden season of this fair type arrangement. If you are wondering around Boston it's not bad to check it out. It is right outside the Government Center T Stop and a stones throw from all the traditional Boston tourist traps!

While this building is ugly, they put on a lot of fun events outside that are diverse in what they offer so it is good for everyone.

My fiancee and I attempted to go apply for our intent to marriage license. Online, all it said that we needed was our IDs and both of our presences at the Town Hall. I should know. I checked at least once a week for the past two months. So much was my surprise when we entered the entirely empty office and are told that it would take two whole weeks for them to process a single email and to make an appointment to complete the state application for a marriage license. Massachusetts already has a three day waiting period so we'd be SOL. The absolutely unhelpful clerks- all three of them- wouldn't look my fiancee and I in the eye as they turned us down. They couldn't help us, even though when we got there, they were gossiping like mean girls in a COMPLETELY EMPTY office. Mind you, every single town around us has the appointment requirement explicitly listed on their website. The whole experience was awful and the clerks were rude. DO NOT GO HERE.

They've managed to keep it's exterior intact while updating the interior, and it all just looks awesome. The main hall inside is big enough for medium-sized events. It's easy to access, easy to navigate, and every single person we've interacted with has been wonderful. From dropping off our ballots to getting our marriage license and finally our marriage certificate - everything was a breeze. Special shoutout to the ladies helping us get our marriage license. We had lots of questions and they walked us through everything. Even when our officiant filled out the document incorrectly, they just handed us another one and said "you're the 4th one today" hahah.

I found the hallways and actually the entire structure to be old and unattractive. The building had the ambience of a tired worn out office building from days past. I can say that all of the town hall staff were some of the friendliest and most helpful of any city or town hall I have been to, which made my experience a great one. Parking was easily found around lunch time on a week day which is very nice considering there is a school across the street. I'd also like to mention that the parking small yet efficient is free of charge and limited to 1/2 an hour which because of the professionalism of the staff I was inside approximately 10 minutes, Yes Amazing!!! I am giving a solid 3 Stars to Winthrop Town Hall and would like to break it up as follows: 1 Star for the building, 5 stars for the staff.

The town is enforcing radio silence on this, even though many local residents disagree with this. I also have had dealings with a local lawyer. He worked with my extremely elderly father to disinherit two of his three children, as well as his only grandchild. This lawyer (Gosselin) has studied abroad, so he certainly knows this would be illegal in many countries. But , with zero communication, Gosselin worked with an extremely elderly man to create a destructive and chaotic estate plan. Somehow, the town lacks a moral compass. Sweet on the surface, and rotten within.

There is a great lighting and a good house PA system. Cons: The events coordinator who will be your main point of contact, Patsy, is not very good. Leading up to our event, a funeral, she let the caterer's know that they could show up an hour early to set up, great, except that she was planning on charging us an additional $300 for that hour. She added this charge without checking with anyone in the family. When we show up the day of the event she is not in the building, does not greet or direct anyone. The caterers were waiting in the parking lot. Flower deliveries had come an gone, bouquets and displays just chilling on the sidewalk. And wasn't like it was early, we were there at 1pm. We were told that use of the parking lot is included in the rental price and that it would be empty of us the day of. It wasn't anywhere close to empty The PA system didn't work and she did not know how to fix it and she didn't really seem to care that it was broken. If you're going to use the space, and you should, its a fantastic venue, just be ready to do a lot of things yourself. If we came in from the start knowing that we would've been responsible for setting up/breaking down, that would have been fine, we would've planned for that. But Patsy told us several times that she would be coordinating these things. It was incredibly frustrating to show up on the day of the event and nothing is ready, open or functioning. In spite of this, we ended up having a great event in a truly amazing space. If Arlington had a different person coordinating events for this space, this would very easily be a 5 star review.

I have worked as a corrections officer, while living here. I went to collect unemployment, and was told that I need to collect from massachusetts! Massachusetts unemployment is absolutely ridiculous and that's using nice words! Their excuse why my claim is late, is because they don't have enough people to work. Here it is December 15 t h, and still no unemployment check. They owe me 5 weeks at $226.00 a week! I called the governor's office of massachusetts! They told me, they would get a hold of the unemployment office, and I would get a call from the unemployment within 3 to 5 days. That didn't happen! Basically everything is in limbo until they decide to do their job. Massachusetts unemployment you should be shame of yourself for making people go without paying their rent because of your negligence. I feel really bad for the people that have children, and depend on this money to feed their children! What's really upsetting, is the fact they don't care that people are in need of the money they've already put into the system! They get their pay every week, so they're not worried about the claimants! They don't even have a supervisor that will talk to you and explain, what's taking so long. They don't give you a time frame that you could expect your unemployment! I thought it was only supposed to take up to 22 days! I was approved on November 2nd still no luck! It says that I have earnings of $6000.00, and can collect up to 23 weeks! Why is it so hard to have an adjuster look at this and approve it! I think they do this, to make people, honestly to decide to give up, so they don't have to pay out unemployment! I feel it's important that we let people know what's going on out there with unemployment! My friends have had the same issues for years with unemployment in Massachusetts!! Something needs to change with this government!!
