Even though it wasn't a 'complex' undertaking, there are a lot of details that have to be done right; and unless you've been through it all before, you need a trustworthy guide to help you through the process. Teresa was my guide, letting me know what needed to be filed when, and how. We spent a lot of time communicating everything long-distance (I live in Florida and my aunt lived in La Crosse), though I did get to meet her on one of the trips I had to make to La Crosse. Things generally went smoothly, though there was a last-minute problem she identified and helped work out. I cannot thank her enough for her work.

This was such a horrifying experience as first time college renters as well as for we parents (who all live out of town). Navigating what to do as victims was so agonizing. I happened to come upon Bernardo's information and gave him a call. He was so kind, caring, and compassionate. All he wanted was for our boys to be safe, and he was very concerned about their mental well-being as well as effects of ptsd. As a father himself, he knows how precious our children are. Bernardo knew the law extremely well! He was quick, efficient, and to the point. He had no trouble having our boys released from this abusive environment. He even got most of their deposit back. I can't thank him enough for all he has done for us. If anyone is having an abusive landlord situation, contact Bernardo Cueto! He was the most wonderful gift in such a bleak situation. All four of our families and boys will be eternally grateful for all of his help. Now our children can worry about normal college things like studying. Thank you just isn't enough, Bernardo. You definitely are an angel in our eyes.

They contacted me, asking me to provide information that would be of assistance to them. I was neither a plaintiff, defendant or otherwise client, more like a witness. The initial request (from their Paralegal Alissa) was quite rudimentary to the point where I almost decided to just ignore it, but in the interests of justice, I took the time honor her request & to write and send the requested information directly to attorney Van Nuland, at a provided email address. I took well-over an hour of my valuable time, to be as informative and accurate as I could be, and neither partner/attorney Margarita Van Nuland, paralegal Alissa, nor anyone else from the law firm could find the time or common-courtesy to respond back with even a simple acknowledgement that they'd received my email, let-alone thanking me for my time. The email never did bounce back to me, so I do assume it was received. I find that abhorrent, disgusting, and very unprofessional for any business, let-alone a business that's supposed to have a belief in ethics. Believing the treatment I received was standard, I think its fair to assume that some people this firm contacts for information rightly ignore the request, and thus the firm operates without an abundance of facts & opinions which may support their clients. Because of that, my opinion is that potential clients should go elsewhere.
