Dr. Tanzini is without question the best veterinarian I have ever come across in 20 years. And to…read morethink it was simply luck and proximity that I discovered him! We brought two cats from the U.S. when we moved here, and one after the other, they both became ill. The first I took in, and he was quickly diagnosed by (Stefano?), who I left thinking was Dr. Tanzini. My Italian is horrible, so I blame myself for the confusion. Regardless, the prescribed course of antibiotics and special food fixed his bladder infection in a matter of days.
The second cat began to have trouble breathing about a week later, so we took her in on a Sunday, with no appointment, and met the real Dr. Tanzini! This time the problem was no easy fix, however. Dr. Tanzini discovered an infection in her chest cavity, with a mass of fluid pressing against her heart, causing the labored breathing. He immediately sedated her and drained a pint of pus out of her chest. From there, I took her back everyday for a week, so they could do tests, sonogram her chest, and administer an intravenous antibiotic cocktail. Another week of prescribed antibiotics at home, and she has recovered completely. It is no exaggeration to say that Dr. Tanzini and his staff saved my cat's life.
Additionally, they all are extremely nice, and very patient with my limited Italian. I am also familiar with veterinary services where we come from in San Francisco, and the cost here was a small fraction of what this kind of care would have cost there.
