The gentleman who runs this business seems very nice. He talked to me at length about doing some…read morelawn service for me and how customers are family to him. I understand it had been and was raining when we spoke and he agreed to come and take a look and give me an estimate, which he did for free. I explained to him that I was on a limited budget that my former lawn care person was no longer available. I stated I had very tall grass and was worried about snakes, especially since I have dogs. He quoted me a very good price he told me he would be out Saturday morning about 9am. I have an acre of land. He came Saturday evening about 4:00 with a push mower he got a small portion done then apparently the mower broke. He messaged me that he had to go back and fix the mower but he should be able to come back on Sunday and finish the job. I was fine with that. Sunday he messaged me and told me he wouldn't be able to make it but that he would definitely come on Monday. Monday he was not able to come said he was embarrassed and would send someone with a riding mower definitely on Tuesday. I had already paid the full amount of the estimate he quotes Friday night because he wanted money up front. Tuesday came and went he didn't contact me I reached out after 5:00pm saying I guess you're not coming today it gets dark in an hour, at this point keep the money since your lawn mower broke on my property. I'll find another solution to my lawn. I wished him well with his business endeavors. If you're not able to do my lawn then say so up front. If you don't have a riding mower a push mower is going to take forever on this lawn. So refuse the job. Their primary business is cleaning solar panels. If you're trying to be nice then don't take any money. It issnot about the money, grant you, I am a widow on a fixed income, I don't have money to throw away, but it's about the principal. I understand that I'm not the biggest client or your best client you're probably making thousands of dollars with other people but then don't tell me that customers are part of your family and you're going to be there for me. I'm very disappointed I hope nobody else has the same experience I would not recommend this company for anything.

After seeing 80 or so positive, 5 star reviews for Conklin Electrical on Google, I had high hopes…read more Todd Conklin is an incredibly charismatic fellow. Our relationship started out fine. Todd was very prompt in returning calls and gave me an affordable quote. However, all that changed very fast when I questioned the validity of his work. I believed that it did not meet National Electrical Code standards (NEC). Mr. Conklin was pressuring me to pay him immediately, however I wanted a third party to examine his work first and consider my concerns. A county inspector had issued a green tag - indicating the work was acceptable. Unfortunately, the inspector did not see all of Conklin's work since it was ongoing. I called the county and ask them to come out and re-inspect the work before it was connected to the SSVEC's power system. There was not an inspector available immediately to come out, so a county official called Mr. Conklin and asked him - what the problem was. (Mr. Fox, how are things in the hen house?) Of course, Mr. Conklin called me back and was quite irate. After some discussion he offered to "rip out" a device that lacked a critical component to make it code compliant. I agreed on the condition it was removed and not ripped ;-) The remainder of the installation seemed to be going to plan. After utilities were hooked up, I flipped on a few light switches in the house and saw that the refrigerator was running. I went out and paid Mr. Conklin. A few hours later when I turned on the lights in other rooms, the bulbs blew. I went to plug in a power strip to my computer and it popped and smoked before the prongs could be inserted all the way into the receptacle. Feeling suspicious, I checked the voltage of a number of outlets and discovered it was roughly twice what it should have been. Long story short, two of three supply wires to the house were swapped (likely accidentally). Mr. Conklin refused to admit to any errors or wrongdoing. I brought my case before the Cochise County small claims court. It was presented before an arbitrator to keep court expenses low. The arbitrator ruled in my favor. Mr. Conklin appealed. The case was presented before a judge. The judge ALSO ruled in my favor. The case may not be appealed. To this day, Mr. Conklin has not complied with the judge's decision.
