We got there around 4:50pm. Many things around the city close around 5 or 6 pm so it was a great start to our trip considering it was a tour of 30 minutes. Our boat guide was great and gave us information on the buildings that we saw. The views are some of the best in the city. I highly recommend.

We only did the short 1 hr tour, and were rewarded with lovely views of junkyards, scrap heaps, and other industrial wasteland. From centree maastricht the northern caves are approx 25 minute walk. I bought to tickets beforehand at the tourist office website. With a group of 25 we gathered near the chalet and went underground for approximately an hour. There was a Dutch and English tour. The guide was - especially for kids- very entertaining. We learned a lot about the caves but also history of the area. Tip - buy ticket online beforehand. They can sell out quickly - it is 10 c. Pack something warm in summer
