My son turned 16 and I knew I did not have the patience to teach him to drive. I looked around and found Boone Driver School. They charge $66 per hour. We scheduled my son for an hour and would see how he liked it and schedule more time if needed. The driver was an older man who arrived promptly at 5PM. He asked my son a few questions and then myself. My son is nervous and had approx 10 hours of driving (this was explained at the time of registration). They loaded up in the car and left. Then I see them circle the block. Then again and again. My son literally drove around my block and in my neighborhood only. Not once did he head out of our neighborhood. After the hour they pulled back into the driveway my son got out of the car and I got up to go outside. The instructor had already backed out of our driveway and was leaving. No overview of how it went. Nothing. I asked my son where did he go. He said around the block. I asked if he parked for him. He said no. How about backing up? Nope. He said he turned right allot. I am very disappointed in how unprofessional the instructor was. You'd think he would have at least walked my son to the door and gave us a synopsis of his skills. All in all I wasted $66. read more

I wish I had read the reviews before my son signed up for a lesson. He has autism so we thought he would do better with an instructor teaching him. He paid for his class and the instructor never showed up. We have called multiple times and no one has returned our calls. Awful service and awful experience. If you have another choice take it. read more

Just an update after instruction from Ottis, my daughter passed her test! She was going to have two lessons with him before the test, however, after only one lesson she mastered several test tasks and built up her confidence with his instruction. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I'm not one to leave negative comments, but I took a class recently for an hour, but I did not get nearly the amount of time promised. I'm a new driver, with not much experience, whom is willing to learn and take criticism, and I stated that whenever I got into the car. From the start my driver was maybe 10-15 minutes late, which set a bad first impression, he didn't even introduce himself ,so I didn't received his name. As I started driving I was fine and going the speed limit, but once we got to a road with many cars in a unfamiliar neighborhood to him it seemed to be that got nervous or he didn't have very much trust in me, therefore he pulled the the car into a open field, and yet blaming me for the reason being in that predicament, but yet he was the one that pulled the wheel. I was baffled when this event occurred, he said bluntly, "Nope, no, no, no, get out." He also stated, "If you would've kept driving like this we would have been in a ditch, you're the reason we're in this field right now." Leaving his statement with no words of wisdom or no constructive criticism on what I was doing incorrectly and what I can improve. Continuing with the negative comments, as he was driving me to my end location he, again, bluntly stated, "Now I know why your parents don't want to drive with you." I was then embarrassed and wanted the trip to be soon over, I can firmly state that this was the worst experience I have ever received from anyone. I drove for a maximum of 30 minutes out of the 75$ hour class ,I didn't learn anything that I didn't already know. I am truly upset with my experience. read more

Exceptional service turned to sub-standard, offensive and subtly racist very quickly. I am not sure what happened. I understand that a driving instructor doesn't require a doctorate, but I would expect there to be a level of common sense in dealing with customers that would be required. I would also expect a "secretary" (as she referred to herself) to understand that you should not ask your customers to make sacrifices to make things more convenient for the instructors over and over again. Finally, I would expect an owner "with over 30 years of driving instructing experience" who is licensed to be an instructor and who should be interested in protecting her bottom line to listen to a customer rather than lashing out with same venom the instructor and secretary already spewed. I am disappointed more than anything at the quality of these people as human beings and the hateful things they said. read more
